Ava's POV

But since he said it wouldn't happen again, I decided to leave it at that, besides he didn't sleep with her.

I kept laughing at the video, and Liam laughed along with me.

The next thing was my eyes, which were glued to his phone moved past his fingers to his lips.

How I love him so much, and his succulent lips I could have myself munching on them all night.

Knowing I had been distracted, he traced his eyes up to my face, smile crept up to his lips.

Slowly, his eyes began going down to my lips, before I could know it, he grabbed mine into his and we began relishing on each other's lips—the man that I love, my heart never ceasing to tingle anytime I stared at his face, he was my everything.

Having such a blissful night, I woke up with my mind at ease and a bright smile on my face.

I stretched myself so hard on the bed and suddenly jerked when my eyes went to the other side of the bed and I couldn't feel Liam.

My eyes darted around.

"Liam?" I called but no reply, it was obvious he wasn't in the bathroom. With the soft but manly Cologne wafting through my nose, I knew he had left to work.

A little sullen expression settled on my face, why did he leave without informing me at least?

I debunked the feeling immediately coming down from the bed and finding my way to the bathroom. I needed to resume work.

Checking the date yesterday, I realized today makes it a week of my leave and I could resume today.

I hate being away from my work but what could I have done when my husband asked to take some days off?

Just like every other morning routine, I did today's own, adding an extra touch to my face, and made to leave for the office. I looked beautiful, just as always.

I had missed my work, there was a new contract coming up with one of the biggest bag production companies in California and I must work my way through to get a collaboration with them.

When I got to my living room, Alice already had a tea and toast ready for me.

It was obvious Liam didn't have breakfast before he zoomed off to work.

I smiled at Alice, she smiled too and her eyes were glowing at how happy I was today.

Then I made a note at the back of my mind to get something for her soon, for being so concerned about me.

A few minutes later, I was done with my breakfast and hopped into my Bugatti Veyron that Liam had gotten for me on my birthday.

The speed of the car was so fast that I arrived in just a few minutes.

I picked up my bag from the car ready to go in there and began my work for today. Not to mention I was extra happy today, my husband was back to me and my marriage was still the same and nothing had changed.

Either way, I still had some sullen feeling settled in my heart when I recalled that the girl was still in California.

But Liam had promised me none of what had happened in previous days would ever happen again. Meaning whatever he had with her that led to that behavior was not there anymore, he had cut it off.

I took my husband's word and stood on it. He was my husband, my Liam who'd always do whatever he said to me.

I took the elevator to our office floor.

When I got inside, the elevator was already filled to the brim with only one person left to make it complete and I was that last person, I arrived on time.

Just as I got inside, a girl I knew from the second floor suddenly gasped.

We all turned our heads to her, then she showed her screen to her friend standing beside her.

"Ivy Wren already had on the jewel brand our CEO will be launching today?" She bellowed to the girl beside her, her voice in whispers but I could hear the name clearly, the name which had become a scourge occupying my mind.

My head suddenly snapped back in their direction.

What did she mean Ivy Wren already had the Jewel Liam was about to launch?

My heart began pounding fast as I pushed my way through to where they stood to see what they were talking about.

I could've used my phone, but I didn't have the time to check her up.

The happy expression I had on my face earlier immediately got stale, replaced with a confused expression now.

When I got to the screen, it was truly her.

What? I couldn't hide my shaking hand.

Then the girl went on..

"I wonder how she got it, did some cheap company start their pirate already and get it to her, how could she get her hand on it already, I heard her family went bankrupt and have nothing now, although she still had her attention online, how did she get it?"

"Shh, you don't know she's our CEO's ex-fiancé?" Another girl standing close to them muttered.

"Really?" The other girl gasped.

"Could they be getting back together?" She asked in an affirmative tone that made me shake on my feet.

"What do you think? He already gave her a Jewelry yet to be launched." The other muttered, and I was left flustered on the spot, my face becoming red.

Just then, the elevator came to a halt, and they left, they've gotten to their floor.

I was left there flustered, with a thumping heart and a leg waiting so hard for the elevator to get to my floor so I could rush in to meet my husband.

A few seconds later, I was on my floor.

As soon as the elevator stopped, I rushed out, my leg carrying me like the wind, and breath going up and down ready to stomp into Liam's office to demand an explanation.

However, when I got to his office, the several words I had on my throat dried up.
