“Can we talk?” The man asked, his voice weary and barely above a whisper.

Grace let out a deep sigh and said “Mr. Emmanuel, I don't know what exactly you want from me. How did you even find out where I am? Oh, I guess the taxi driver you arranged for me told you.” Grace hurried through her words in annoyance, not allowing him a moment to respond.

During their last encounter at the hospital, Mr. Emmanuel had asked Grace questions to learn more about her, but she had declined to share any information. Desperate to find out where Grace would be staying in the Midwest, he had slyly offered to arrange a taxi for her, which allowed him to discover her location through the driver.

When he arrived at her house and found she wasn't there, he inquired nearby, and those who knew Grace as George’s friend directed him to George's canteen.

“You can see I’m busy! Please, just tell me what you want; I have customers to attend to,” Grace shouted at the old man, growing impatient with his silence. By

A tall, giant man dressed in black top and black trousers with a pair of dark shades, stepped down from the car.He walked majestically close to the kids and suddenly paused, his gaze scanning through the environment. He brought out his phone, his thumb dancing across the screen, showing a picture. He compared the picture with the twins, Jack and Jill and a smile spread across his lips, glad that he had seen the children he was searching for.He removed his shades, put on a friendly smile and moved closer to the twins. “How are you boys?” He greeted them with smiles causing the twins to glanced at each other with fear written on their faces. “Mommy said we shouldn't speak to a stranger,” Jack said, his eyes w

Grace’s eyes opened slowly, she turned her head and could hear Aunty Margaret whisper, “Thank God, you're finally awake.” With her eyes half-opened, she tried seating up. The memories of what happened before she blacked out came rushing back and her eyes snapped open wide. “Where are my children?” She asked with urgency, gazing around, her heart beat starting to race. “It's already late. I forced them to go to bed while I watched over you,” Aunty Margaret replied, pulling Grace's head to her chest. “Victor didn't take them,” she asked, her lips trembling. “Yes, I didn't allow him to,” Aunty Margaret said. After Grace had collapsed due to the shock, Aunty Margaret had called a neighbor who was also a nurse to attend to her. Victor, desperate to take the twins away, was forced to leave without them. “Let me go inside and sleep,” Grace said, her voice barely above a whisper. As she tried to stand up, Aunty Margaret gently pulled her back by the hand. “I’m sorry, Grace,” she

It had been a week since Victor had visited the twins at their school, and earlier that morning, he had made a plan to show up at Grace's house and forcefully take the twins from her. Grace had stopped the twins from going to school, and after Noah had told Victor, they suspected she might try to run away again. That suspicion had made them fast-forward their plans. Daisy had been discharged from the hospital, and that made leaving the house a little difficult. Her cry to follow him tugged at his heart as he detest seeing his only daughter cry but he felt his sons were more important. In Grace's house, the twins were glued to the television, smiles on their faces as they watched cartoons. Their mouths made noises as they chewed their biscuits. A sudden knock on the door drew their attention and Jill rushed up to open the door, but his hand couldn't reach the door handle.“Mommy, someone is at the door,” he called out with his mouth full of biscuits. Grace rushed out from her r

“Mommy,” Jack and Jill called out in unison. “What is it?” Grace shouted back from the kitchen. “Come and see the man we saw at school today.” Jack said, causing Grace to Immediately stop what she was doing and rushed to the sitting room. Jack and Jill had told her about Victor earlier, but she hadn't believed it was actually him. She thought they might have seen someone who resembled him, and since they always loved watching Victor on TV, they might have just assumed it was him. When the twins handed her the money Victor had given them at school, she was surprised, but still couldn't quite believe it was actually him. She wanted to confirm with the principal, but his number hadn't been going through.“Are you saying this was the man who gave you two hundred dollars each?” Grace asked, pointing her shaky hand at the TV screen. The twins nodded in response. Grace couldn't help it, she fell helplessly into the chair behind her. It was as if the shock took air from her lungs as

Victor smiled as he stepped down from the plane, he was happy he would finally be seeing his twins. Although he wouldn't be revealing his identity as their father just yet, the joy of holding his heirs filled his heart. Victor chuckled as he remembered how he had placed his childhood picture beside the twins picture that Noah had sent him – the resemblance was so amazing and undeniable. Daisy was still in the hospital, and Victor longed to be with her, but his dreams of his sons were too strong to resist. He lied to Kimberly, claiming a business trip, so he could travel to see them. “Sir, we’re at the school,” Noah announced as the Uber pulled up to the largest school in the area. The other car conveying his two bodyguards also pulled up.“The school authorities and the twins’ teacher know me, so I won’t be going inside with you,” Noah added. Victor nodded, stepping out of the Uber. His two bodyguards followed suit.As Victor walked toward the principal's office, teachers who cross

“Daddy, the ant is tiny,” Daisy said wobbly, smiling and pointing to the picture in the book Victor held. “Yes, it's tiny,” Victor said, yawning, his eyes half-closed from tiredness but he still had to read bedtime stories to his daughter.“Show me the grasshopper too.” Daisy said, flipping the pages of the book with her tiny hands while Victor helped her find it.She abruptly rose up from the bed and started jumping happily, “the grasshopper and the ant.” She kept repeating and laughing. Victor, already feeling sleepy, watched his little cutie with a smile, “Daisy, Daddy needs to go to work tomorrow so you have to sleep now,” he finally said, pulling her gently to the bed. “I love you, Daddy.” Daisy said in her little voice as Victor lay beside her, gently rubbing her back.“I love you too baby.” Victor replied with smiles and kissed her on her forehead. Shortly after, Victor, who was supposed to help Daisy fall asleep, fell asleep on her bed before she did. His sweet slumber was
