Chapter 22

We had exactly three days until the next full moon to get back to Jason before he woke up and possibly rejected Mila. Not only do we have fully days walk and a day’s walk back, that means we have exactly one day to find out what we need. It’s not like we can put this off since they know we are here.

“What are you thinking?” Dax whispered in my ear. The girls had gone inside and taken Jason with them to put him in a bed. Dax and I stayed outside and decided to sleep by the fire. We were wolves, after all.

They only had one pillow to spare, so our heads were on the pillow, but our bodies were on either side. “We don’t have a choice. We can’t wait three days and hope he comes out of it and then go on our mission. We can’t put him before it.” I hated saying it.

“We can run in our wolf form and get there in half the time.” Dax suggested.

“Will that not give away our position if we are running full speed? That’s not exactly going under the radar.”
