Chapter 17

Clarie's POV…

After Gamma Harrison left the kitchen to go talk to Alpha Nathan on my behalf, I became so tense.

I was expecting the head maid to scold me for getting involved with Harrison but her next statement surprised me instead.

"Help her get back to the room, you should rest for a while Claire."

I kept staring at her surprisingly, sometimes, she is so hard to understand.

Thirty minutes ago, she was yelling and scolding me, she even slapped me but she is acting cool and calm now.

"Thank.. you," I stuttered and she faced the other servants.

Two other female servants stepped forward and accompanied me back to the room.

They helped me get on the bed and left quietly, it seems I was getting a bit better.

All what I needed was just rest so the painkillers could work effectively.

I laid on bed and closed my eyes, I took a deep breath and sighed heavily.

Deep down, I was scared of Alpha Nathan's reaction once Harrison confronted him.
