AVERY

I DROVE TO the address of the penthouse in a few minutes. The penthouse was in an estate in the richer side of town, and all the houses looked alike, only identifiable by the small numbers in front of each house.

I parked by nunber 13, which was the number on the address. I put in the security access code at the front door, and the door opened.

If I were not so drained emotionally and physically, I would have been in awe at how magnificent the house was, but now, all I wanted was to soak in a hot tub and wish all my problems would dissolve away.

I dropped my comfort pillow on a couch and found a bathroom. As I fixed a bath for myself, I tried to take my mind away from my encounter with Dante, and my situationship with Nick. A small moan escaped my lips as I sank into the steaming tub. I closed my eyes as the stress left my body and I relaxed.
