CHAPTER 50

When Jacob failed to come on time, I had no choice but to stick with Stefan. I informed him that he could take me to the nearest bus station so that I could return to Claybourne, but he insisted I should stay. Unless there’s an order coming from his brother to send me back to Claybourne, I should stay put!

At first, it would be so boring on the plantation but Stefan showed me around, and he truly became a friend. Because of him, I temporarily forgot about my worries…especially about my newborn daughter. Stefan would take me to places I had never been before, and I appreciated his effort to keep me company.
