CHAPTER EIGHT

EVA'S POV

“Clark???!!!” I said out of shock.

“Shhhh…..you don't want your sister to hear you do you???” He asked.

“What are you doing here??? You should be with your fiance right now.” I said as I looked around in worry.

“She will be fine….I don't think she will even notice I vanished with how engrossed she is about getting the perfect wedding dress.”

“That doesn't answer my question Clark…what are you doing here??” I asked.

“I figured you could use a helping hand and I was right.” He said smiling.

“Go out or we are going to get caught…I don't want to start explaining to my sister what didn't happen.” I said.

He chuckled softly.

“What didn't happen?? Better still, do you want something to happen??” He asked, smirking.

Suddenly the dream I had started replaying in my head.

“Have you seen my sister Eva??” Rachel said from outside.

I started to panic as fear gripped me.

“I told you to go out, Clark…now she is going to…”

I didn't get to complete my words when he covered my mouth with his hand and moved so close to me.

“Your voice is the only reason why we are going to get caught.” He said in a whisper.

He looked into my eyes like he was looking right into my soul and I almost melted.

His gaze was enough to make a woman fall at his feet and beg him to be hers.

He moved his lips to my ears as I closed my eyes as my breathing became uneven.

“I'll be right outside if you need me and also, you look nice sister in law.” He said.

“What??”

He chuckled as he opened the door and walked away.

I stood there looking so flushed and hot.

Clark was playing games with me and I was going to show him that two could play the game.

After checking out the dress, I instantly fell in love with it.

I walked outside of the dressing room to show the dress to my sister.

“Eva,where were you???!!! I've been looking all over for you.” She said.

“I'm sorry I was checking out this bridesmaid dress….is it nice???” I asked.

“Hmmm….not bad but I had something else in mind…come and try out this one.” She said as she pointed at a dress.

“Before I try it out, have you decided on your wedding dress??” I asked.

“No I haven't.” She said pouting.

“Why don't you ask Clark to help you out?” I asked.

“He is busy…I think he is on an important business call.”

“Okay….let me help you decide…show me your top three wedding dresses.” I said.

I had to do that because knowing my sister and how indecisive she could be, we would sleep over at the wedding shop.

She brought out the three she liked best and I helped her choose.

After we were done, Clark walked into the shop.

“Ladies, are we done here??” He asked.

I noticed he didn't even spare me a glimpse but his eyes were fixed at Rachel.

“Yes baby…I've chosen a wedding dress…thanks to Eva.” She said.

“Can we go check out the rings now??” He asked.

That was the coldest response I've ever gotten from him.

He was acting strange and it weirdly affected me.

“Yes baby we can…. just hold on a minute let me tell them to the one I choose.” Rachel said.

After paying for the wedding gown, we all entered the Limo and drove to the ring shop.

Clark was awfully quiet on the journey to the ring shop and I wondered what was wrong.

“We finally arrived and we got down from the car and walked in.”

I was amazed to see all sorts of rings and the prices krested on them made me hang my mouth open.

“Rachel, are you seeing the prices on these rings??” I asked.

“Don't worry Eva…my man has got it all covered.”she said.

I couldn't take my eyes off Clark as he tried to fit a ring into Rachel's hand.

His mood seemed to have lightened as Rachel cracked a joke making him laugh.

I honestly felt I was the reason for his sour mood earlier, probably from the way I treated him when he walked into the dressing room to help me with my zipper.

I figured it was best for me to keep my boundaries and stay away from him.

As they both checked for rings, I saw one that caught my eyes.

“Hello miss, please can I have a look at that one??” I asked.

“Yes, sure.” She said as she brought it out.

It was an emerald color ring and the diamonds stood out so perfectly.

“This is beautiful.” I said as I tried it on and it fitted perfectly.

“It looks amazing on you madam???”

“Oh Eva…call me Eva.” I said.

“It looks Amazing on you madam Eva.”

“Thank you.” I said smiling.

“Why don't you buy it??”

“Nahhh…. I'm not the bride…my sister over there is.” I said as I pointed at Rachel.

“Really…. congratulations to your sister….I assume the young gentleman over there with her is her fiance.”

“Yes he is.” I said as I stared at Clark.

“But that doesn't mean you don't deserve a beautiful ring too??”

“Maybe when the right time comes…it was really nice talking to you.” I said.

“ You too.”

I dropped the ring and sat down waiting patiently for them to be done and after ten minutes, they were done choosing.

Rachel walked up to me in excitement while Clark was sorting out the bills.

“You are happy now right??”

“Yes I am…thank you so much for doing this with me sister…you are the best.” She said.

“I am just glad to help.” I said.

“Shall we??”Clark asked.

“Yes baby.” Rachel said.

Clark and Rachel were about walking out and I was behind them when the sales rep I spoke to earlier called my name.

“me??” I asked In confusion.

“Yes you ma'am.” She said.

“ You can both go…I'll be right behind you.” I said.

“Why is she calling you??”Rachel asked.

“Maybe I forgot something.. I'll be right back.” I said.

“Okay, hurry.” Rachel said as they walked away and I walked back to meet with the sales rep.

“What happened?? Is there a problem??” I asked.

She brought out the same ring I was admiring earlier and gave it to me.

“Why are you giving this to me??” I asked.

“The gentleman paid for it and asked me to give it to you.”
