It didn't matter if the sun crashed on the earth or if the moon decided to replace the sun during the day, Michael Stahom was never late to work until that morning. He drove into the parking lot of the huge building where he was CEO and owner, Empire, in a haste to attend the meeting he had called for and was already 45 minutes late for. Typical Michael would have put whoever came five minutes late on probation but it was his turn to be on the receiving end. It didn't matter though, no one was going to punish him anyways, He owned the place.
"Good morning Mr Stahom" the receptionist smiled in greeting as he hurried into the building.
"Good morning, Emma" it was hard to keep track of his employees names but Michael made sure he knew the important people.
"They're all waiting for you" Bridget, Michael's assistant, called out to him as he walked into his office. The elevator ride up to the floor where his office was situated was enough to inform him on the status of the office. It was rare to ride the elevator alone but that was what Michael experienced that morning. A quick glance at his watch made him flinch, He was already late, coffee wouldn't harm anyone but it most definitely would help him clear his mind from thoughts of the red head in the amber mask.
Room service had been the one to wake Michael out of, if he would dare to admit, the most peaceful sleep he had had in months. He wasn't surprised to not find her in the bed, he was just disappointed he had slept too long and too deeply that he had missed her departure. The second cheque he had written her was on the table alongside his briefcase. Instincts told him to check for any missing items and he did but he saw everything in place. Just as he expected.
It wasn't even the cheque that was making him take his time to make coffee before he proceeded to the meeting, it was the woman and the entire encounter. Michael couldn't shake off the image of her blazing red hair, he had seen redheads before but the stripper's was a different thing entirely.
"....then we would rearrange the whole project and make sure we get it right this time around" Drake, Michael's manager was talking in the conference room as Michael walked into it, coffee in hand and a file in another. His company was looking to sign a contract with another major company, there was no room for error, not even from him.
"How do we rearrange something we've spent months working on?" One of the employees blurted out, voicing everyone's concern.
"We start from the major projects, changing what needs to be changed and then move to the little projects" Michael answered as he took a seat at the table.
Drake cast him a quick glance that screamed "where have you been?" accompanied with a nod, "The boss is right" he acknowledged. "We're going to start from the big guns and then move slowly into the minor league. Slow and steady wins the race so they say" the majority nodded in agreement.
Michael frowned, "Don't be too slow though" he addressed the room. "We have to up our game, we're too far behind. Okay?" The room echoed in unison "Okay!"
Less than 30 minutes later, the meeting ended with everyone having a clear understanding of what had to be done in regards to the project and the contract. Drake on the other hand wasn't smiling.
"Where the hell have you been?!" He scolded, the moment they were both alone in Michael's office.
"I had something important to attend to" Michael slumped into the chair with another cup of coffee in hand, hangovers were the worse and why couldn't he keep his mind from wandering back to the redhead and how good she felt in his arms?
"The red head stripper is more important than the contract you had spent months working on?" Drake scolded, noticing how lost his friend was. What had happened after he left to meet the stripper?
"You handled everything perfectly well, Drake. There wasn't any need for me to be there"
"Yes, maybe not at the meeting but you fucking ditched me last night. I remember dragging you to the club but I ended up going back home all alone"
"Let's just say, plans changed"
"Plans? What silly plans? You got wasted and decided you wanted to fuck a stripper" a pause, "Those were the plans? You criticized the whole place, frowned at the women, judged the men and ended up caught in the redhead spell. How did that work exactly?"
"I don't know what you want me to say. I've told you, plans changed and I had no control over them"
"You had no control over sleeping with a stripper who most definitely would have been a sex worker?" That triggered Michael.
"Drake, I have a serious headache and I'd like you to get your annoying ass out of my office so I can think!"A bigger pause coupled with glares.
"Suite yourself" The door almost went off it's hinges as Drake walked out of the office. He was right to be upset, Michael had in actuality, ditched him but drawing conclusions about a woman he didn't know, was way too much of a stretch.
As he pulled into his apartment later that night, he realized he had learnt more than he intended about the redhead masked stripper, Amber who was actually June Skylar. A sick mother and a younger sister and three different jobs, there was no wonder she accepted the offer when the money was increased.
The front door creaked open as the babysitter walked out of the mansion, "Good evening, Stella. How is she?" He asked as he walked past her into the house. Curiosity and determination had been replaced with exhaustion. The mystery woman wasn't a mystery anymore and he didn't know which one bothered him more.
"She's asleep. Goodnight Mr Stahom" the babysitter answered as she walked to the garage. Michael instructed the driver to drop her off as he climbed up the stairs to his daughter's room. He wanted to take a hot bath and go to sleep, he was exhausted. It had been a long day.
"Juneee!!!" June's sister, Layla screamed as she ran to hug her as her big sister, as she appeared in the hallway where their mum's room was situated in the hospital. It had been over a week since the last time June had paid a visit to the hospital and seen her little sister. Their mum had been sick for quite awhile but June couldn't afford to just sit with them at the hospital, the bills weren't going to pay themselves. "I need to speak to Doctor Rachel first, okay?" Layla nodded and June gave her a kiss on her forehead and told her to go back to their mum. The doctor was glad to see June in good condition but her face told June there wasn't much good news to share. With Layla satisfied and her mum finally asleep after crying, June kissed them both goodbye, promised to come see them more often and left the hospital to go for her first job. The convenience store was quiet as June walked into it that morning. She straightened the front of the dress she had worn from the hot
Michael couldn't recall how many times Drake had complained about how much he was huddling himself up in the office, bent over different files and not having a social life that didn't include boring contract signings and businessmen conferences. "I have the perfect place for you to go to ease up all this tension you've been carrying on your broad shoulders" Drake told him that afternoon as he walked into the office with the remaining files from the project. Michael didn't hesitate to air out his views, "If it's a party, I'm not interested" The look on Drake's face afterwards should have warned him but Michael knew he really needed a break so he complied anyways and found himself at Emmys that night. Unlike himself, Drake was a regular at Emmys and Michael didn't understand the pleasure anyone was getting from watching half naked women dance on a pole until the redhead with the mask climbed her podium. It was like a spell was cast, he couldn't take his eyes off her as she twir
"I can't believe I missed my daughter's birthday party for this half assed show" Two men were walking out of the club, visibly upset about the whole event. Emmys was a place you went to and got instantly happy but tonight was different and June knew she was in for it. Stephen sat at his desk with one of the biggest frowns June had ever seen in her two years of working at the strip club and she knew she wasn't going to get out of this easily. "Look who decided to show up" Stephen said as soon as June walked into his office. The frown dissolved into a smile but June knew it didn't meet his eyes. "I can explain, Stephen. Something came up, I couldn't..." Stephen cut her off before she could complete whatever she had to say. "Yes, you're going to have to explain yourself June Skylar!" Stephen yelled but relaxed when he saw fear forming in June eyes. You'd think years of working at a strip club would make her somehow strong enough to deal with men that yelled at her. "I..
"Hello, June Skylar" Michael called out to the stripper as she walked into the parking lot. He took a deep breath as he looked at the woman that had given herself a place in his mind without his consent. The first thing he noticed was how bright her eyes were, her hair color had been a marvel to him since he first time he saw her but it looked surreal as he took a good look at her. Michael concluded in his head, June Skylar was an extremely beautiful woman. After Anita had given him the name of the masked redhead stripper, he had emailed it to his assistant to run a background check on her and it didn't take 20 minutes for the results to come back in. Michael had discovered more than he had initially intended on. June Skylar, 25 years old, first an oldest child of Mrs Glory Skylar a widowed mother of two. She had lost her dad in her early teens and her mum had been diagnosed with Cancer not long after. She had dropped out of college and started running over two jobs to be a
"I didn't say black coffee, Miss. I said I wanted a macchiato" June apologized for the third time that moment as she started making another cup of coffee for the man that was already losing his patience. "You should be more focused on your work, Miss" the man advised as he collected his now correct order and walked out of the Cafe. It wasn't even 9 yet but June had mixed up over four orders and she still couldn't get her brain to correspond with her mind. The encounter with the strange billionaire the previous night had left her with tears rolling down her cheeks as she hailed a taxi without looking back if he had followed her or not. She couldn't possibly believe he had approached her with a more insane offer than the first one. A lot had happened in two days and it was overwhelming for her but the list kept on going up and up. After falling into an exhausted sleep after crying for hours after she got back home from the club, June had woken up to her sister still in bed wi
The sound of Michael's voice wasn't something June could easily forget after hearing it many times. It irritated her to the bones and seeing him also irritated her, the man just had a way of making her blood boil and rise. She wasn't going to let him get in the way of what she planned to do that day so she decided to walk away and act like she just didn't hear him call for her. No matter what she was going to get her job back. "June" Michael called and walked towards her from the other end of the parking lot. June stopped in her tracks and then turned to face his annoyingly handsome face. "How may I help you, sir?" June's voice came out more irritated than she planned. She wasn't in the mood for any of his nonsense this night. His silence aggravated her"I would be on my way if you have nothing to say then," June said before walking away from him. Michael stopped her from going any further by holding her hand. She dragged her hand from him with a frown"Don't tell me you are going
The whole day how to meet up with Michael kept crossing June's mind. She wanted to speak with him but she didn't know how to get to him because she didn't collect his number and she didn't give him the chance to speak with her. Since she didn't succeed in getting her job back, he was the only solution to her problems now even though she hates to admit it. She took her last order "I will be going to the back for my lunch break, I will hand it over to you" June said and left the post for her friend. "Of course go ahead" She went into the kitchen before she rummaged through her bag searching for a chew gum while she stumbled across a business card with a number on it and without thinking twice because she couldn't afford to think. She called the number and waited for the person to pick up the phone. After the third ring, the person finally picked up "Hello" June dropped the phone on the ground in shock at the voice she just heard. It was the man she had slapped angrily few days ago,
June agreed to his deal and it was only because she had to save her mother. She would have never agreed to do something as crazy as what he offered if it wasn't for her mother. June made her way into the restaurant that she and Michael had agreed to meet the day before when she spoke to him on the phone. They agreed to meet at a certain time and she was already late but she couldn't help it since she had to take the bus to the restaurant. Throughout yesterday she had thought about it through and then she read the contract again trying to find anything that would show her why it was a bad idea but she couldn't find anything. The contract was all normal and she couldn't say he made a mistake. So she had come up with terms that she expected him to follow also. She would be his sex slave and she knew that it involved having sex till he was contented and doing things to please him. It was like being his harlot. She was going to accept his terms today when they signed the contract so sh
