After the night of betrayal, Jada is faced with a choice: forget her past and start her future with the man she hated with all her being, or face the consequences of her past decision.Mr. Hudson nodded slowly, his eyes still fixed on Leon's retreating figure. "You have my support, Jada. I always have and always will. And as for you, Chase, I may not have approved of your relationship with my granddaughter before as her father had wanted, but I can see now that you truly love her and have her best interests at heart. You have my blessing.""Let's just hope you, my dearest cousin, stick with this other man this time." Maria's voice was laced with bitterness as she spoke, her eyes fixed on Jada. "Because I clearly remember you causing such a fuss over marrying Mr. Aniston and even kneeling before grandfather and the family to turn down his proposal. It's so damn alerting how your feeling changes, Jada. So, for this family's sake and our reputation, let's hope your little feelings don't change from him to someone else again."

Chapter 1

1. Betrayal and Bloodshed

Slowly, Leon walked into the grand hall, its towering ceilings adorned with delicate chandeliers casting a warm, golden glow upon the polished marble floors.

There, in the heart of the opulent hall, stood Jada, her look exuding an ethereal grace. His heart quickened its pace, his steps faltered, and he closed the distance between them.

With a tender smile adorning his lips, Leon leaned in, greeting her with a gentle kiss. But to his surprise, Jada withdrew, her head pulling away, leaving his lips pushed up.

Watching the confusion in his expression, Jada's hands trembled with anger and betrayal as she faced Leon, the documents clutched tightly in her grasp.

The air in the dimly lit room crackled with tension, a heavyweight of seething emotions hanging between them. Tears welled up in Jada's eyes, and her face contorted with rage.

"How could you!" she screamed. "I trusted you! I confided in you! Just for you to play with my emotions like a cruel puppeteer pulling the strings! How could you deceive me like this?!!"

Suddenly, Leon's expression morphed into one of indifference, his eyes narrowing. His insensitive demeanor only fueled Jada's anger, igniting a fire within her. Immediately, he realized from the disgust in her eyes that she knew everything, and he felt relieved.

"It's your fault for being naive and foolish. You think I could love you?" Leon sneered with a cocky laugh.

With each word, the cracks in their once-solid relationship widened, leaving Jada questioning everything she thought she knew.

The documents trembled in her shaky hands as if mirroring her inner turmoil. She had never felt such a deep sense of disappointment in her entire life. Her trust shattered like fragile glass. The person she believed in, the one she had shared her deepest secrets with, had turned out to be nothing more than a phony.

Sniffing back tears, she stepped closer, her body quivering with fury as she pointed her trembling finger in his face and lashed out, "Don't you dare!! Don't you dare blame me for your deceit! I was no fool! It was your silver tongue that entangled me in a web of lies. You played the part convincingly, making me believe you had a heart to love me."

The room seemed to hold its breath, the silence punctuated only by their rapid heartbeats, and then Jada's voice grew louder. "But let me tell you, love cannot thrive on lies, Leon!! It is built on trust and honesty, and you destroyed every ounce of trust I have ever had in you."

Her words struck his ego, and Leon's eyes flashed with anger and frustration, his façade soon slipping. "You think you're so innocent, so pure," he spat, his voice laced with bitterness. "But you were just as willing to believe in the fairy tale I fed you! You ate that shit up really well! So don't you dare paint yourself as the victim here!"

In disbelief, Jada's tears fell freely now, her voice raw with emotion. "I may have been naive, but I never deceived you! I may have wanted love, but I never pretended to be someone I'm not! On the other hand, you reveled in the deception, enjoying the power it gave you over my heart, you hypocrite!!"

At that moment, a look of disgust crossed Jade's face as she straightened her back, her voice steady, meeting his eyes, "You may have torn my trust apart, but you will not break me. I will rise from the ashes of this deceit, stronger and wiser. Goodbye, Leon."

The hall fell silent as Jada turned her back to Leon, fully prepared to walk away from the shattered remains of their relationship. But just as she took her first step, his voice pierced through the heavy air, carrying a chilling undertone that sent shivers down her spine and froze her in her tracks,

"I am sorry, Jada, but I cannot let you leave!"

A flicker of fear danced in Jada's eyes, but she quickly composed herself. Then, slowly, she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, before turning to face him again. And there it was, in Leon's hand, glinting ominously in the dim light of the room—a gun. But instead of succumbing to fear, a small, almost invisible smile tugged at the corners of Jada's lips.

In that fleeting moment, she realized the depth of her naivety, the blind trust she had placed in a man who turned out to be a master of manipulation.

As Leon glared at her, Jada's mind raced, her thoughts swirling in regret and self-reflection. 'How could I be so naive?' she questioned herself. 'If I could get a second chance at life-'

Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot echoed through the room, shattering the suffocating silence that had enveloped them.

Time seemed to stand still as Jada's heart pounded in her chest, the rapid beats echoing in her ears, drowning out any other sound.

And then, an intense pain seared through her head, ripping her back to the cruel reality that awaited her. Her hands shakily touched her head, her fingertips trembling as they grazed over a warm, sticky wetness.

When Jada saw the blood on her hand, her gaze lifted to meet Leon's, their eyes locked in a dreadful dance of disbelief and horror.

His face contorted with a mixture of shock and remorse. But only briefly, before something else took over, a glimmer of satisfaction, a twisted smile of pleasure.

Looking at him wide-eyed, Jada's lips trembled as her knees buckled beneath her. The pain in her head pulsed with each beat of her heart, throbbing relentlessly. Blood, warm and sticky, continued to trickle down her face.

Tears mingled with the blood rolling down Jada's face as she struggled to find her voice and form words amidst the chaos within her mind.

"Wh-why?" she managed to choke out. "How could you? I loved you with everything in me..."

When Leon's eyes rested on the papers tightly in her grips, his twisted grin widened, the flickering light casting eerie shadows across his face.

"Oh, Jada... You were always so stupid, so, so easily manipulated. And even now, you have not changed, presenting me with these documents. Did you truly believe I would let you leave, let you expose the truth about me?" His voice grew colder, his eyes glinting with a sadistic delight. "You should have known better, my little butterfly."

Watching Leon's eyes darken, Jada's knees finally gave up. With a loud "thud," she dropped to the ground, her body collapsing under pain and shock. The room around her spun in a dizzying blur, colors merging as her vision blurred with tears and the throbbing ache in her head intensified. The metallic taste of blood coated her tongue.
