It was Luke Paul.

He stood over me, his dark hair neatly pushed back and a cruel smile on his face. The cold look in his eyes made me even more afraid.

“Welcome home, darling,” Luke said in a low, frightening voice.

He slowly bent down until his eyes were level with mine. I stood frozen in front of him.

Before I could even take a step back, Dad walked up beside us with a big, proud smile on his face, as if he had just won a prize.

“Mr. Luke, I promised you I would bring her straight to your doo

Daniel picked up the phone from the table and moved it closer to me. I leaned forward, my eyes fixed on the device. It looked familiar, but I needed only a few seconds to recognise it. My eyebrows drew together as I looked from the phone to Daniel, wondering why he had it with him.“Isn’t this Mr. Paul’s phone?” I asked, confused.“Yes, it is,” Daniel replied. “Lucy took the important file she needed for the investigation and left the phone with me. At first, I didn’t think there was anything else worth checking, but I decided to go through it again. That’s when I realised we might have missed something important. We spent so much time looking at the image and other information on this phone that we didn’t pay enough attention to the call log. So I decided to check it properly, and what I found was quite strange.”I immediately sat upright.“What did you find?” I asked, my interest growing. “Daniel, please don’t keep me waiting. What strange thing did you discover?”Daniel didn’t answ

My father looked at me as if he wanted me to say something. My mother took a small step forward, her eyes filled with an expression I couldn’t understand.I stared back at them, my heart beating painfully in my chest. After everything they had done, what could they possibly want from me now?I turned my face away from them.I had nothing left to say. I had given those people enough chances, and every time they had found another way to hurt me. They had pushed me out of their lives when I needed them the most, and now that they had returned, they expected me to welcome them with open arms. They had not come because they missed me or because they wanted to make things right. They had come because they still wanted something from me.I was done.Whatever happened to them from that moment on was no longer my concern. They had made their choices, and they would have to live with them.My father stood there for a few more seconds, perhaps waiting for me to change my mind or say something th

The moment the person stepped out of the car, my entire body went stiff. I blinked in disbelief, hoping my eyes were playing tricks on me, but they weren't. It was my father, Steven. Before I could even process his sudden appearance, the other car door opened, and my mother stepped out as well. They stood beside the car for a moment, looking around the courtyard before turning their attention towards us. My heart began to pound, and a strange feeling rose inside my chest. I couldn’t believe they had the courage to show up here after everything they had done to me.My parents started walking towards us, but before they could get close, Gab’s voice rang through the courtyard.“What the hell are you both doing here?” he barked angrily. His sudden outburst made them stop. Gab stepped away from the car, his face hard with anger. I had seen him angry before, but this was different. He looked as though he could barely control himself. His eyes remained fixed on my parents, and his hands tigh

“From what we saw on the security footage from five years ago, Luke returned to the mansion before midnight.”Daniel’s words immediately caught everyone’s attention. He pushed himself up from the chair and walked towards Gab, his face serious as he continued explaining what they had discovered.I looked at him, trying to understand what he meant. Luke had returned to the mansion before midnight? If that was true, then what exactly had happened that night? Had we misunderstood everything about Mr. Paul’s death?“Wait a minute,” Gab said, his eyebrows drawing together. “Does that mean Luke might not have killed his father?”Daniel gave a small nod, although he didn’t look completely convinced.“That’s what we’re trying to figure out. The footage shows him returning to the mansion, but we haven’t found anything that proves he killed his father.”Gab stared at him for a moment before looking towards Lucy. I could barely keep up with all the information. We had believed that Luke was respo

The moment Gab and I arrived at Paul's mansion, he parked the car, and we both hurried out. I could barely contain my excitement. After everything that had happened, I finally felt free, and I couldn't wait for Luke to face the consequences of his actions.Gab locked the car and followed closely behind me as I rushed towards the entrance. The moment we stepped inside, I heard someone scream my name.“LEAH!”I turned sharply towards the voice. Before I could even make out who it was, Bella came running towards me. Her eyes were filled with tears, and her face lit up the moment she saw me. I opened my arms at once, and she rushed straight into them. We crashed into each other and held on so tightly that I almost lost my balance. Neither of us seemed willing to let go.“Oh, Leah!” she cried against my shoulder.I wrapped both arms around her and buried my face in her hair. I had missed her so much. I couldn’t even find the right words to say. All I could do was hold her, feeling the warm

“I always wanted to tell you everything. I have wanted to do it for so long, but I kept waiting for the right time. I thought there would be a perfect moment when I could sit you down and explain everything without making things difficult for you. But I guess that perfect moment may never come. Sometimes, you just have to create the right time yourself,” Gab said.He glanced at me briefly before returning his attention to the road. His hands remained firmly on the steering wheel as he drove, but I could tell from his voice that this conversation meant a lot to him. He sounded serious, almost as if he had been carrying a heavy secret for years and had finally decided to put it down.I turned towards him and watched his face. Gab had never been the kind of person who enjoyed talking about his past, and I had learned not to force him to share things before he was ready.“I’m a werewolf, which you already knew,” he continued. “And when I came to the human world for the first time, I had o
