Chapter One

Calvin Sanchez paced around his room. he had been doing that for the past hour. he didn't know what else to do. he felt uneasy and insulted. it hurt his pride that he couldn't use his power and influence as an all time Alpha of all the packs to rescue his mate.

he missed Alexis, his mate, that it ate at him.

he missed her laughter, her face, her playful personality, for goodness sake, he missed the crap out of her. he woke up this morning alone on his bed once again. he usually woke up to see Alexis, his mate, lying beside him, then he'd give her a good morning kiss on her forehead. he wanted to do it today but he couldn't, he wanted to hold her tight to prevent her from evading his sight, but he couldn't.

he couldn't do all these to her because she wasn't with him.

she had been kidnapped.

he felt like his ego was bruised because he was meant to rescue his mate by now. he was an alpha. he had absolute power and influence.

but he couldn't rescue her yet because she had been kidnapped by his jealous elder brother who was the beta of the Bayero pack.

It had been four days now, since Alexis, the love of his life was kidnapped. he remembered how she was before she left the Alpha's domain. she was with him, she sat on his lap while he cracked jokes and she laughed. Then, she decided to leave the Alpha's domain and take a stroll with a few omegas.

His turf, the Alpha's domain was highly guarded by sentinel wolves. it was the highest place anyone could ever be in the world. no one could penetrate or leave without his knowledge.

on that day, his mate had kissed him before she left, and he reluctantly let her leave his sight, because she promised she was going to return home early.

"Fuck!" he yelled as he ran his hands down his hair in a distressed motion.

He knew his brother, Raymond to be a dangerous person. his brother had teamed up with Amber, his crazy ex girlfriend, to have his mate kidnapped.

His brother did this because he knew that Alexis, his mate was his weakness.

his love for Alexis was his weakness and his brother used it against him.

He thought about how all these started. how his brother suddenly hated him enough to kidnap his mate.

he was born with a royal blood. his father was the alpha to all the packs in the wolf world. the Alpha usually had the absolute power and reigned supreme in all the 150 packs of the wolf world.

The moon goddess blessed all the alphas of each generation with super strength, agility, wisdom and gorgeousness.

his father was meant to pass on the alpha tittle to Raymond, his elder brother but his dad never liked Raymond because Raymond was an irresponsible son and a bad example. his brother always hung around rogue wolves who'd been shunned by their pack.

when his dad made him the all time Alpha of all the packs, Raymond was furious and indignant. Raymond wanted to be the Alpha because he was the first son but couldn't be because Calvin, the younger son, had already been made the alpha. his father then made Raymond the beta of the Bayero pack.

The other way in which an alpha could be chosen was through a duel. A new alpha could be picked when the current alpha agrees to fight.

whoever won the fight would be made alpha and blessed by the moon goddess.

his brother, Raymond had been wanting to engage in a duel with him, in order to become the alpha but Calvin kept on declining.

Until, he kidnapped Alexis.

Calvin couldn't decline the alpha battle with his elder brother anymore.

if it came to sacrificing his alpha tittle for his mate, Alexis, then he would do that. he missed his mate and he wanted her back, even if it meant agreeing to his brother's terms.

Summoning an omega who also worked as his messenger, he said to the omega.

"go to the beta's domain. go there and meet my brother" he said to the omega

"tell my brother that I'm ready to engage in an alpha's duel with him. tell Raymond that he shouldn't hurt Alexis, I'm ready to agree to his demands"

"Go now!" he ordered and the omega left instantly.

"Fuck!" he yelled again as he smashed his hand through the wall. the action drew blood instantly and pain seared through his arm but it wasn't compared to the pain he felt because Alexis wasn't with him.

"are you okay, Calvin?" Dante appeared.

Dante was his best friend, and Alexis brother. he was also the beta of the Purple rose pack. Dante was literally his aide and he was the only beta who lived in the alpha's domain instead of the beta's domain.

Dante was his childhood friend and always stood by him even when he made Alexis his mate.

"I'm not okay, Dante" he said as his voice broke. his injured hand had already begun to heal because he had triggered his wolf curse and could shape shift into a wolf.

"I miss her" he said to Dante, then broke down in tears. he cried like he'd never done before. he feared for his mate's life. what if his elder brother hurt or killed her?

"she'll be fine. she's my sister too. I know her, she's strong and she'll get through this" Dante said to him

"what if my brother or my ex girlfriend hurts her?" he voiced out his fears to Dante "I can't live without her, she's my weakness"

he said, amidst tears. even if Raymond didn't hurt her, Amber, his ex girlfriend would, because she was obsessed with him. she wanted to become his Luna so she could get more power but he didn't let her. he dumped her and she had been looking for ways to make him accept her again. she was very jealous of Alexis.

"nothing will happen to Alexis " Dante comforted him. "I know you've sent an omega to Raymond concerning my sister's release, it'll work out. everything will be fine soon" said Dante

"will it?" Calvin asked, he was still afraid.

"yes. Alexis is strong, she'll get through this "

Calvin inhaled as he wiped his tears. he'd agreed to his brother's terms. he hoped nothing would happen to the love of his life.
