Four

TIA'S POV

My eyes widened in both fear and shock.

Did I do something to irritate him?

My face paled. My legs grew weak thinking he was going to sink his fang into my neck but surprisingly he pulled away from me.

His cold piercing gaze made me feel weird inside.

His eyes shut as he inhales sharply before reopening his eyes to look at me.

“ You are Vito's kid?” He wasn't asking. But I nodded my head.

“ You look at me when I ask you a question.” He demanded, and I looked up from the floor, but I didn't dare look him in the eye.

He was Alpha Orion, the ruthless beast of the west.

Everyone knew better than to offend him.

I couldn't offend him, not when we live in his pack and under his protection.

“ Tia.” He whispered my name as if testing it on his tongue.

My hand squeezed the edge of my dress as he got closer.

A sign of relief shot through me when I heard my mother's voice from outside.” Tia, baby are you okay?” A polite knock came on the door and I looked up at Alpha Orion.

“ Sit.” He ordered in his deep cold tone before striding to get the door.

” Sharon.” He called my mother by her name and I frowned.

I wasn't used to hearing people call her by her name. Of course, he would, after all; he was the alpha everyone was scared of.

“ I want to know if my daughter is okay.” My mom asked in a polite tone. Her voice quavering for the first time since I was born.

My mother was a fearless soul but I guess even she couldn't stand someone like Alpha Orion.

Alpha Orion turned his head to look at me.” She will see you after I'm done with her.” With that, he shut the door in her face.

He dropped both his hands in the pockets of his black pants and turned his back to me.

I immediately looked down.

“ Tia.” He called and I swallowed hard. I forced my head up but still too scared to meet his eyes.

“ What brought you here. Into my pack?” He asked, striding slowly towards me.

” It was my parents' idea.” I said and he chuckled.” Tell me something I don't already know.”

I bit on my bottom lip as he settled on the table in front of me.

“ Why did your parents decide to move from the Dawn pack?”

I didn't know what my parents had told him but I couldn't tell him anything without first confirming with my mother.

“ I heard you had a fallout with the Alpha's son. Tell me what it was about. Did he harass you?” He asked and I looked up at him, finally meeting his eyes.

Blue, grey and red.

His eyes had three colors.

How was that possible?

“ Or the other way round?” I widened my eyes.

Did he mean to say I harass Cade Adams?

Cade and I didn't have any relationship aside from the mae thing.

Before that, we weren't even friends. We grew up together just like every alpha and gamma pups.

“There was nothing between us,” I said honestly, and he hemmed, but I could sense the doubt in his voice.

” Tell me what transpired between the two of you.” He said and I began chewing the inside of my mouth.

I wondered what my mom might have told him.

Whatever my mom told him obviously didn't convince him enough that was definitely the reason why he sent someone to pick me up without my parents' knowledge.

“ Cade and I grew up together…” I paused not sure how to put it because the reason we left the Dawn pack was obviously that Cade rejected me.

“ He called me wolfless because I haven't shifted yet,” I whispered the last part and the room grew silent.

“ You haven't shifted?” He sounded surprised.

Shit!

My parents obviously didn't tell him this. Then what did they tell him?

He walked back to his seat and leaned in. His eyes didn't leave me for a long while.

" I'm sorry if my parents didn't tell you...";

“ Fill this form.” he tossed a file in front of me, cutting me off.

I looked up at him. Speechless.

” Here.” he handed me a pen.

Our fingers blushed and a surge of electricity rushed through me making me pull my hand abruptly.

“ Thank you,” I murmured

The first blank space requests my name. Followed by my age and then my marital status.

I looked at him. He was also staring at me. The kind of stare that feels tender yet burning at the same time.

I finished filling in the form in a few seconds and handed it back to him cautiously.

Making sure my fingers don't touch his.

“ You are eighteen.” He said, reading through the form.

“ It left with one last thing.” He said and the push opened.

It was the man from earlier. The one that drove me here walked in.

“ Here is what you requested." He handed Alpha Orion a glass and a knife.

” This will be painful but I promise you will be okay.” He said and I turned my gaze to the man.

" Trust me." He sliced his palm. His eyes are not leaving me.

He let the blood pour into the glass and then handed it to me to drink.

Was he going to initiate me into his pack? Did that mean my parents and I could stay here?

“ Drink.” He ordered and without wasting time I clamped my lips on the glass and drank the blood.

His blood.

“ Good.” He said and suddenly my chest tightened.

I felt something slice through my chest. My bond with the Dawn pack was breaking.

A painful scream tore from my lips.

“ Tia, are you alright?” My mom's panicked voice rang from outside and Alpha Orion let out a warning growl.

“ Get them out of here.” He ordered whoever.

My vision was blurring. Tears clouded my eyes as pain became the only emotion I felt.

I wanted to call out for my mother but I couldn't find my voice.” Don't fight it, Tia. Allow the bond to flow through you.”

Something inside me calmed.

" You have to let go of your old pack. They don't deserve you " he whispered the last part and the wave of pain I was feeling slowly disappeared.

My breath slowly steadied and my eyes flipped open.

Alpha Orion was sitting beside me as I opened my eyes.

I immediately became aware of my surroundings and jumped up from the sofa.” How are you feeling?” He asked.

A flicker of emotion flashed in his eyes but it barely lasted a second.

” Am fine.” I was feeling normal.

“ My mom?” I asked and he grabbed a bottle of water from his table and handed it to me.

The door opened and my parents rushed in.” Tia?” My mom pulled me into a tight hug.”Are you okay, did you hurt yourself?” My mom asked worriedly and I shook my head.” I'm fine, Mom,” I replied and she turned to Alpha Orion.

“ Can we take her home?” My mom asked and he met my eyes. I immediately looked down, afraid to look him in the eyes again.

His eyes were scary yet beautiful.

Terrifying yet admirable.

What was I thinking?

I shook my head and I heard him chuckle.” You may.” He said and my mom helped me up on my feet.

“ Welcome to the central pack, Tia.” Alpha Orion said as we walked to the door.

I turned my head to look at him and surprisingly his lips were sealed.

I frowned but I brushed it off.

The drive back was silent.

My parent didn't say anything and I was grateful they didn't because I didn't know if I wanted to talk about what happened.

When we got to the house I went to bed right after taking my bath and that was unlike me.

My mom didn't wake me up for dinner.

I stumbled from my sleep in the middle of the night after a terrifying dream.

My body was drenched in sweat and my bed was wet.

I looked around the room and surprisingly my window was open.

The dream somehow felt real especially after seeing my window open.

I turned on the bedside light and even though I realized there was no one in my room I let out a sigh.

In the dream, I was being mounted by a black wolf.

It didn't feel scary like it should but how was that possible?

Being mounted by a wolf in my human form?

I could still hear myself screaming in pleasure.

I shoved the blanket off myself and stepped down from the bed.

I strode to the window.

The night was calm and peaceful. I shut my eyes to let myself feel the cold breeze.

My long white hair swayed behind me as I felt peaceful. I felt myself.

The real me. The real Tia, the girl born with white hair.

Yes, I was born with white hair and have been living in disguise my entire life because my mom thought it was safer.

Goosebumps rose on my skin and I flipped my eyes open.

I felt watched.

I looked around the small clearing behind the house before letting my gaze wander in the woods. Not like I would see anything. But smelled something different in the air. Is it Alpha Orion?

I shook my head and immediately closed the window.

“ Tia, you are awake?” My mom said as I walked down the stairs in my nightwear. She was setting the dining table.

” Where is dad?” I looked around the empty living room.” The alpha has summoned for him.” She replied and I nodded, taking my seat at the breakfast table.

“ I think he is going to give him a job.” She added and I let out a sigh of relief. We were finally staring over just like we had imagined.

“ Whatever you told him convinced him.” She met my eyes and I looked down at my fingers.

“ Are you feeling pain anywhere?” She asked and I shook my head.” Glade.” She kissed my forehead.

" It's over." She said and I agreed with her. It was over.

" Your dad and I will do anything to keep you safe."

“ He knows I don't have a wolf,” I said and she froze.

“ I told him.”

I didn't want to have to hurt you too much.
