Sixteen

Tia's POV

“ This is Tia. She just joined the pack with her parents.” Vincent explained and I turned my gaze to Orion who was looking back at me.

I look of pure expectation clouding my eyes.

What happened earlier still lingered in my mind—his lips against mine.

His hand on my hip and his face closer to mine with his warm breath sliding into my nostril.

We practically breathed in each other's breath a few minutes ago and suddenly I was just a new pack member to him?

Hurt. I swallowed nothing in particular as I felt my throat being optimate.

“ Just a pack member?” Salena asked as if she couldn't believe it.

Her eyes scanned me for a long while before speaking again.

“ I will be right back.” She left.

No one spoke again. Maybe they didn't and I didn't hear because I suddenly didn't know what was wrong with me because I felt hurt and angry.

I didn't say a word until Salena returned with a bottle of whiskey and a glass for herself.

She sat next to Vincent and Zack, facing Orion.

“ How did you guys manage to bring Orion around?” She asked with a smile, and Zack chuckled.

“ Tia.” Zack murmured, and Salena turned her gaze towards me as if trying to process something.

“ What do you mean?” Salena frowned as she turned her head to look at Zack, who was sipping his drink.

“ I mean, it's easy to get him out here if you invite the right people.” He said, his eyes pointed to me.

Vincent chuckled, but Selena didn't find it funny.

“ Who did you invite?”

“ Is that even important right now?” Vincent asked.

“ It's not because right now we have him here,” Zack murmured.

“ Do you want anything else, Tia?” Vincent asked but I shook my head.

I had barely touched my drink.

I was a bit uncomfortable.

I didn't like Salena for some reason.

“ I will have a smoke outside.” Zack was about to say something but Orion was already leaving the bar.

“ Excuse me guys.“ Salena followed and I felt something twist inside my chest.

It was obvious she was going after him. Who was she to him?

I didn't know why I was this hurt but I was hurt more than words could explain.

Salena.

I didn't know how to explain what I was feeling but I was wild enough to want to pounce on her and tear her apart.

Minutes passed and he wasn't back. Something inside me went cold as if disappointed.

I sat on my seat quietly listening to my thoughts.

Wild thoughts.

Who Salena was and how she managed to steer such emotion inside me.

Why was I feeling this way?

It was t the first time.

I felt this the day Ramy told me about Michelle and Orion. I felt this exact emotions, but today seemed worse.

I shook my head to get rid of it. I tried to focus and stop myself from feeling this way.

“ You don't like your drink?” Vincent asked and I swallowed.

“ I'm okay.” I said in a whisper but hr didn't seem to believe me.

His eyes lingered on me for a while before he nodded his head in defeat.

When Orion finally returned, his eyes were a bit dark and Selena was right behind him like a shadow.

He sat back in his chair lazily with his eyes fixed on me.

“ Sorry guys. I needed to talk to Orion about something “ Sake took her seat.

“ I'm happy you guys showed up here.” She sipped her beer, her eyes fixed on Orion as she talked.

“ It's been a long time.” Vincent said and Zack agreed right away.

“ You barely show up here and I have missed you guys.” Salena let out.

“ The last time I saw you was two years ago.” She added.

“ Orion. You are still looking for your mate?”

“ I remember the last time we talked you said about about looking for your fated mate.”

“ I have found her.” He replied and something inside me went cold.

Had he found his mate?

Why was I feeling this way when I already knew?

Who was she and what was she like?

“ I hope she is worth it “ Salena says in a bitter tone and I feel Orion's eyes on me.

“ She is worth more.” Orion said and the table went silent.

“ She is beautiful if you ask me.” Zack said earning a growl from Orion.

He must really love and care about her to be this protective of her.

“ Tia.” Orion called my name and I looked up at him.

“ We are leaving.” He got up from his seat. His gaze stared down on me, and I unconsciously got up from my chair.

“ It has been only an hour since we got here “ Zack complained, but we didn't stop.

Vincent was right behind me as we strode towards the door.

“ Orion!” Salena's voice trailed behind but Orion didn't stop.

“ I will wait for you,” she added as Orion opened his car door for me.

The drive back was silent.

Orion sat beside me while Vincent took the driving seat.

In the midst of the dead silence, my phone rang, and it was a message from Ramy.

To distract myself and stop myself from thinking about what happened, I decided to check what it was that she had sent to me.

I opened my phone and it was a link.

I wasn't sure what it was since nothing was stated.

Curious, I clicked on the link, and the wired doing can't through before the disturbing image of a naked man pressed behind a naked woman as he thrust inside her with so much force.

The sound of their body colliding resonated through.

My eyes widened as I turned my head to look at Orion, who was looking at me.

“ I'm sorry.” I tried to exit the page, but another one showed on the screen with a more disturbing noise.
