Chapter Fifty-Six

A car crash.

I wake up to find myself back in the passenger seat and Lance driving us back to Colette’s and Mav’s.

“Morning!” He smiles as he pulls up to a drive through coffee outlet.

“I’ve got to search the Mulder pack lands today. Axel mind-linked worried where you were and as punishment for his sleepless night demanded we get him some coffee!” He laughs at his friend’s behaviour.

I sit up in the chair and glance at myself in the overhead mirror, goddess what a state!

“What do you want?”

“Erm latte and a muffin please? No coffee for Colette, she has bloods today!” I remind him.

“Right, well remembered!”

We make an order, of a lot of different coffee drinks, and drive back to the house. I’m already dreading the look from Axel and Blake, and the questions from Colette. So as we arrive, I cleverly race up the stairs to freshen myself up and change my outfit for the day. Lance doesn’t seem to care, but why would he, he’d look drop dead gorgeous in three week old jeans and a dirt
