Chapter 35

Luna's POV

It took us most of the night to get to the other side of town. I think I scared the heck out of Renne—she never knew who I was or what family I came from as I never told her. We got a hotel room without any trouble. I didn't feel like shooting or slicing someone's throat right now, but I knew I needed to talk to Renne. She was the one driving and freaking out when I was shooting the wolves. I don't think she even knew I had guns; that's a part of my life I didn't talk about. I knew a lot of people knew of my grandfather Mercury Black. They would love to try to take me and get my grandfather's money or my father's money, so I keep quiet about it. When we got into the room, I shut and locked the door, turned to the window, shut the curtains, and then turned on the light.

“Listen, I know you have a lot of questions. But let's shower and rest before the million questions start, okay? So, go shower first, and then I will, and then you can start asking,” she nodded. She took her shower, and then I took mine. Luckily, we had chips and lots of junk food to eat before we rested a little, and then she suddenly started asking questions.

“Who are you really, and don't lie to me or I will walk out of here and head back home. Who is your family, and how did you learn to shoot like that? You're crazy. Don't get me wrong; I loved the excitement, but that was just too crazy for me. Spit it out; who the hell are you?” I wanted to laugh, but right now, this isn't a laughing matter. So, I sat down in one of the chairs they had in the room and explained to her who I really was, who my family was, and how I learned to shoot.

“I’m Luna Black, one of Isaiah Black's daughters. You should know who he is by hearing who his father and mother are—Mercury Black and Cheyenne Black. We are the one and only mafia families. I learned how to shoot from my parents; they wanted me to be able to protect myself, no matter the cost. I didn't tell you who I really was because I don’t go around telling people my whole life story. There are rogues or other people out there dying to know how to get their hands on one of us so they could either demand for my father to step down or take their money. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. If you want to leave, you're more than welcome to. Take my car; I can get another one. But I will warn you, they saw you with me, so you will need to hide until you get back home. Sorry, but that's how it is when you hang out with one of the Blacks,” she didn't say anything at first. She stood up pacing back and forth, mumbling about what she got herself into. Then she stopped, deep in thought.

“Did you just say that you are none other than one of the grandchildren of Mercury Black, the king of the mafia? Wait, excuse me, was the king of the mafia until he passed the title to your father?” Now, how the hell did she know about that? I needed to be ready to defend myself if she tries anything. I knew she wasn't weak; she's a tough lady. Still, if I have to kill my only friend to keep myself alive, I will.

“Yeah, I'm one of his granddaughters,” she scooted the other chair in front of me and then sat down. She was facing me, just looking into my eyes. This was a little weird.

“What are you doing, Renne?”

"I'm sorry if I'm creeping you out, but my parents sent me to that college in the hope that I find you. I knew something was off when I met you, but I didn't know you were his granddaughter. You see, my parents didn't have anything to offer; they saved all their money to send me to that school. They said they heard one of the blacks was going there, and they wanted you to protect me for some reason. I knew they were no more when I went back home last year to visit. You remember that, right? When I got back, the Silver Stone pack was gone. Everyone was dead, and I was the only one left alive because they sent me away. A guy came to them asking for help to take someone's money so they would beg for help. When they said no, they knew it was soon to end, so they sent me to this school in hopes that I find one of you. And now that I did, I don't know what to do. Run or stay, I don't have a clue. If I run, I don't have a place to run back to; if I stay, I could die at any second. Wait, was this for real? This girl had no pack, no family; she was on her own. I had to think fast; I had to talk to my father about this. What the hell will he say? I need to figure it out fast."

"Renne, let's just rest for the night and then get back on the road in the morning. If you decide to leave, I will give you money to get back to the college and pretend you never met me. If you want to stay, then you're more than welcome to come with me. But we need our rest so we can head out." I got up from the chair, laying down on one of the beds. I was exhausted, and all I wanted to do was sleep. I needed to talk to my dad, but I needed Renee to go to her bed and rest as well. Then I can mindlink my father. When I knew she was sleeping, I mindlinked my father. I told him everything that Renne just told me, down to the last thing that she told me about someone going to her pack asking for help to take someone's money. When they said no, they knew something bad was going to happen, so they sent her away to the college in hopes to find one of us. It took him an hour to mindlink me. I think he was talking to Mom about this. When he replied to me, he told me to bring her here. She's family now. He would teach her everything that she needs to know. We cut the link off, and I fell asleep thinking, great, another little sister. Great. The next morning, her mother mindlinked her."

"What she said was true, Luna. I looked the pack up and read what they said. Someone destroyed everything on their land; even the people were all dead when they found them. She is the only one alive from that pack; we need to figure out who wants her dead.”

Unknown, aka the boss, POV

"What the h3ll do you mean you lost her? Find that b*tch and kill her before she comes back to the castle and ruins everything. I don't give a damn if humans get in the way or not. Dispose of them and then dispose of her!" After I let that out, I calmed down. This could all go to ruins if anyone finds out what is going on. If anyone finds out who we are, then we are in some deep sh*t. We could spend our life in jail or get killed, and I don't plan on going to jail or dying. This has got to end. We need to take more of his money. Does he have any other accounts that we don't know about? We need to find them, get that money, and then take everything away from him. If he finds a mate, we will end her as well. He will have nothing, and then he will have to marry his daughter. Then she will kill him. Let's just hope they find her in time.

Kayla POV

The next few days were eventful. I tried to avoid Lucas, but I failed in doing so. Every time I turned, there he was. Even when we had to go to the filing building, I knew I had to see him there. This was sucking big time, but I knew I had a job to do. So I did it. We went to the building where all the statements and files were being held. It was a tall building with only one window. That would drive me nuts having to stay in a building with just one window.

“Why does that building have only one window? Is there a reason for that?”

“Yes and no. Jasmine is in control of this building and the filing of everything. She said to have just one window because if anyone saw what she does or puts the files, then they would know where to go and steal them. She only knows where things are put. The other employees have different offices in the building. They do the filing of other things, like who comes and goes, the visitors, how many rogues are here in the dungeons. You know, all sorts of things.” I understood now why there was only that one window; she didn't want people to peep through and find out what she was doing.

I noticed that he was walking close to me, our arms and hands just inches away from touching. He was doing this on purpose. Sighing, I stepped away while I was walking. I knew he noticed because he smirked at me. I wanted to slap it right off his face, but I'm working right now. I don't feel like pissing him off right now. We stepped inside, opening the one door that was in the room. The others stopped what they were doing, looking at us. We all stepped inside. Lucas told the others that we are here to investigate and they should go on with what they were doing. They nodded, turning back to their work.

“Hey, Jasmine, are you here somewhere?” There was no answer. What was going on? I saw papers on the floor and boxes that were opened. It was like someone was looking for something. I didn't like this one bit.

“I think Jasmine is gone, and someone was looking for something in this room. Boxes are opened, and there are papers on the floor.” He noticed as well; he was looking around, as was my father and mother.

“Just give me a few minutes to figure something out. I think I can figure out what's going on,” My parents knew what I could do, but not Lucas. They never told anyone about my powers. I'm starting to grow into them now and I feel them brewing inside of me.

I noticed a handprint on a table; it looked fresh. So, I placed my hand down on it. Then I started to clear my mind. Then I was there—a flashback. It was like I was in the same room with her. I saw her looking through some files and putting them in a cabinet. She then placed files in her briefcase to look through later. Someone knocked on the door, then it opened. I couldn't see his face, but I could tell it was a male by his voice. He was asking her to join him for coffee at a shop in town. She agreed, put the rest in her briefcase, shut the cabinet, and walked out. The flashback ended. I almost fell down, but Lucas caught me. This was the first time I did this. It took a lot out of me.

“She was in here, but it's been almost a week now. She was here putting things away and stuck a few files in her briefcase to look through later. But someone came in here asking her to go get coffee so they could talk. That was almost a week ago. Something must have happened to her. Do you know where her home is? We could go and see if anything is out of place.” Lucas nodded; he had a worried look on his face. Who was this woman to him? I couldn't help but feel a little jealous because he looked so worried about her. What in the world am I thinking? I just needed to get this done and get the heck out of here to get back home where everything is normal, and I don't have to worry about this.

Chapter 48William's POVWe woke up a little later than we should have. I was exhausted from the all-night driving to catch up with Luna and the others, so I slept in when I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. Me being a leader to these guys was a bad idea on the Moon Goddess's part, but she insisted on this. I felt like I was letting her down. When we left the hotel room, I didn't know how long Luna was ahead of us, but I knew her car was not there. "Shit, I knew I shouldn't have slept in." But I also remembered we shouldn't be so close while she is driving. She would spot us and wonder why we are following them. We hurried to the car, then sped away from the hotel. I had to get the GPS out so I could see how far the castle was that Anna was talking about, her brother being there. It made me wonder if this guy is the real Lycan King. I remembered an old tale of a Lycan King. He only wanted the Lycans around; he wanted everything else dead. He wanted to

Chapter 47Dark Witch Tree (Sorry, I couldn't think of a better name to give her, lol)I was sitting on my porch enjoying the night. The owls were feasting, and I heard the snakes crawling around. When that girl came to me wanting some off-the-wall potion to make the king think that his mate was her, I thought she was insane. I've made this before long ago that the woman died because she didn't put enough in his drink. He was an alpha that everyone wanted, and she did, too. She decided to come to me and ask for it. I made it strong for her, warned her of the karma that it might cause, but she didn't care; she wanted it. I told her I wanted her first child, and she agreed. But things happened; she didn't put enough. They were in bed together when the potion wore off; the alpha killed her right there. Now, this girl comes to me asking for the same thing. I told her that I wanted to live in the castle, and she agreed. However, I had a feeling she wasn't going to live either. That girl is

Chapter 46Barry's POVIt had been a few days since I saw my daughter Angie. She told me she had plans for this little bitch, but what plans were they? I needed to let her know what my plans were before she did something stupid. I mind-linked her, telling her to get to my house now; she would be living with me so I could keep an eye on her. She didn't need to be living in the castle right now. I knew she didn't like the idea. I was waiting on the porch for her when she arrived, and she didn't have anything with her."Where the hell is all your stuff, Angie? I told you to bring it with you.""Dad, if they saw me take my things from my room and move in with you, they would think something is going on, and I don't need that right now. You said you had a better plan than I had. So before I tell you mine, you need to tell me yours. Besides, mine is already in progress." I couldn't believe my ears. What the hell was she doing that was already in progress?"Girl, I hope it's nothing stupid t

Chapter 45This is how William became part of the assassins.William's POVAs I slept beside my mate Anna, I came to realize something profound: I was part of a very strong family. It took me a while to understand this, but I am an integral part of this family. I often wondered how I could help them. While I slept, the moon goddess came to me. I knew she never appeared unless there was something important to convey. I found myself standing in the woods, arms crossed over my chest, simply observing. I was pondering why I was there until I heard her voice. I turned to see her: she had white hair cascading down her back, white eyes, and a white dress with a tribal mark on her forehead."I know you're wondering why I summoned you here, William, but I am forming an assassin group to aid Mercury's family. I know you well, William. It will be tough, but Anna's sisters, Luna and Kayla, are in dire need of help. A significant war is imminent as they seek to dethrone the king, who refuses to st

Chapter 44 Kayla's POVI knew I shouldn't have smacked him, but I was pissed off right now. How dare she kiss what is mine? I stormed outside; I wanted to go for a run. I decided to use my wolf form. This time it really didn't hurt that much. Once I was done shifting, I ran into the woods. It was amazing how it felt looking through my wolf eyes. Everything seemed different. I could see so many colors and smell the animals before I ran up to them. I jumped over a few logs, marked some of the trees. I was having so much fun. I even let Aurora hunt down a rabbit or two; she enjoyed the run as well. I found a small lake right in the middle of the land. I looked down into the water and noticed how silver my wolf was. I think I needed to shift into my lycan. If anyone saw me like this, they would probably try to kill me. So I shifted right into my Lycan. She roared and then sat down on a log. Her fingers went into the water, scooping up some water to drink. I looked down into the water and

Chapter 43Angie's POVThroughout the night, I kept hearing howling, screaming, and even some growling. What the heck was going on? I got up and looked out the window; oh, it was a full moon, a night when first shifters did their first shift. Smirking, I hope the one that shifts gets tortured from the pain like I did. Trust me, I felt like I was dying when I did my first shift. I don't like to shift that much, but when I do, I let my lycan run as long as she wants; it makes her strong. I looked further and saw Lucas picking someone up off the ground. Motherfucker, it's that girl's first shift, and he's carrying her. I bet they're going to mate and mark each other. Walking out of my room, I watched as he carried her to her room. He went in and out of there several times, bringing up a cupcake, then food to her. The last time, it took a while for him to come out. I thought that's when they were going to do it, but I didn't hear anything; these walls were soundproof, but every now and t
