Kayla pov

I was so exhausted after my shifts, all I wanted to do was lay down and sleep, but first i needed a shower since i was on the ground trying to see if i needed to heal from anything, I wanted to walk back into the castle but Lucas picked me up bridal style, walking me back into the castle, at first i was shocked, I was wondering why he was carrying me like a damn child. Then i found my words after he walked us into the house, 

“You know, i do have legs. I can walk, you know.” he ignored what i said, told my parents good night and that he would see me to my room, He carried me all the way up the steps, and trust me its a lot of steps to go up., once we got to our room. i thought he was going to put me down so i could go into my room but he didn't he opened the door walking inside, he sat me on the bed telling me to sit there, what the h3ll is he doing, he was running a bath, than walked back into the bedroom , he picked me up again taking me to the bathroom, okay this was enough i can stand, When he finally put me down on my feet, i stood there with my hands on my hips, 

“I'm not taking this gown off until you either turn around or leave this bathroom.” 

“Woman, I just saw you naked about ten minutes ago, and you're being shy right now?” i rolled my eyes, i knew he was right, shit, fine. i took off my gown and then stepped into the bathtub, 

“Relax, and I will see you in a few minutes. I need to go get something,” What in the world is he talking about?" i laid my head back relaxing. my bones felt so stiff after shifting so i let the hot water relax my body, i must had falling asleep because i i felt someone shaking my shoulder, my eyes opened and i saw lucas with a cupcake in his hand with a candle in it lit with fire, 

“Make a wish and blow out the candle,” i thought it was sweet of him to do this, but i honestly feel that he had something his sleeve, I didn't make a wish because i didn't want anything, So i blew out the candle then relaxed in the tub, after he left again i took a bath then got out to dry off, i walked into my bedroom putting on sweat pants in my hoodie, I just laid in bed when he walked back inside, what the heck is up with him, i'm exhausted and needed rest, 

“Listen i know you're tired, but you also need to eat something so i went ahead and made you a sandwich, Eat, you will feel better after you had ate,” he placed the sandwich on the nightstand than left my room again, i went ahead and ate, it turned out to be a ham and tomato sandwich, he was right, I did feel better but i was more tired now since i had food in my stomach, I laid down laying my head on the soft pillow, i didn't know when he came back into the room taking the plate out, but he stood there watching me sleep for a bit. than left my room, this was all so strange to me, apart of me wanted him, i knew now he was my mate, i could smell his scent of the woods and pine, i could bury my face in his neck and smell his scent for the rest of my life, i still wonder where those tattoos led to, Apart of me wanted to believe every word he told me, but to me My grandfather was the king and always will be the king. i sure needed to talk to him right now, i woke up getting my phone off the nightstand, i clicked the button and then heard it ring, He answered on the second ring, 

“Hey pumpkin, Happy birthday, it's late. Is everything okay, honey

Yeah, it is grandpa. I finally shifted into my wolf and lycan. It wasn't fun due to the pain but I'm here. Turns out that Lucas is really my mate. I'm just not sure how to handle it right now because, to my grandpa, you're the one that is king,” I heard him chuckle on the other line. Then, he spoke in his grandfatherly way, “Pumpkin, I was the mafia king for the longest time. That's all it was, just the mafia king. Now, your father is the mafia king. But Lucas is the Lycan king, honey. He rules over all lycans and wolves. He makes sure that wolves and lycans are okay and their packs. I understand that you're confused right now, but I'm sure you will figure it out, honey. We will be leaving here soon to head there to help out. Not sure when we will arrive, but we will be there.” I thought about what he had said. It's a tough decision. I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. After a few more minutes of talking, we hung up the phone. I laid back down; I didn't know when I fell asleep. It was some time during the day when I woke up. I made my way toward the kitchen. I smelled pancakes and bacon cooking. It was my mom cooking breakfast. I sat down, and she moved a plate in front of me. I started eating.

"Alright, young woman, we need to talk. When will you give Lucas a chance here? He's trying, and I saw it last night. He waited on you hand and foot. I'm not saying to hurry and sleep with him. I'm saying give the guy a chance to talk to you. Go to his office and talk, get to know each other before you consider rejecting him." I knew my mom well enough; she wouldn't stop until I actually went to see him. But what in the world am I going to say to this guy? I don't have a clue about what I'm going to say to him. So, I finished my breakfast and handed my mom the plate.

"Okay, okay, mom, I get it. I'll go and talk to him. I don't have a clue about what I'm going to say, but I will go and speak to him." So I walked out of the kitchen to his office; the door was partly open. When I heard voices coming from inside, I had enough. Who the h*ll does this b*tch think she is? I slammed the door open; they both jumped, turning to look at me. The look of fear was in this girl's eyes, but she smirked at me, turned, and laid a kiss on Lucas's lips. She was laying her claim. Oh h*ll no.”
