Chapter Eighteen – On A Mission

Lena’s POV:

I frowned as we sped down the road towards the western frontier. Where was he taking me? It didn’t look like we were going to Yellowknife. Was he abducting me like Felixe abducted his twin? But what would he achieve from it? He already had me living with him, almost ready to do his bidding.

“Isn’t Yellowknife towards the southeast?” I hadn’t visited the place, but I knew the capital city of the Northern Territories was on the shores of the Great Slave Lake.

“Yes. We’re taking my chopper.”

I gaped at him as the words sank in. How loaded was he to own a helicopter? I had never seen one in this backward village of Lucania, let alone ride one.

“Oh! You have a helicopter! What do you do for a living?” It was out of my mouth before I could check myself. He smirked at my slip of the tongue while I wanted to die of embarrassment.

“I have restarted my father’s construction business.”
