Chapter 6

Luke's POV...

It's been two weeks since Willow finally realized what she was. She is impressive and a quick learner. The more time we spend together the stronger the pull is between us. I know she can feel it to but I don't think she knows what it means. I don't want to freak her out by just coming out and saying anything about it.

My parents had explained it to me when I was sixteen. It is in our blood to find our one mate. When you find that person you can feel everything they feel, and when you mate the connection is unbelievable. There are stories of elders in the community that have been able to feel and hear their mate over thousands of miles once they have mated. I don't know how true those stories are but so far everything else that has been told to me has all been true.

"Come on Luke I want to go for a run." Her sweet voice called out to me from the front door. We still haven't explained everything to her yet. We haven't told her about the vampire but I think we are out of danger for now anyway.

"I'm coming." I yelled back as I walked down the hall twords her. She had already shifted by the time I had made it to the door. Her clothes were folded in a pile next to the door. I quickly undressed and I shifted as I jumped off the porch.

"Bet I can beat you to the river." I heard her and when I looked up she was already running.

"Hey that's cheating." I heard her laugh as I picked up my pace. She still beat me to the river. I didn't mind though. When I approached the bank of the river I saw that she had shifted and was swimming.

"Come in the water feels so good." She said almost in a whisper. She acts so mature that sometimes I forget that she is still only sixteen. I could see the innocences written all over her face as I shifted and she turned her back to me. I mean I'm only nineteen myself and haven't been with a woman but I have seen plenty of movies. She just seems like she has been sheltered from that.

"Willow. It is normal to look."

"Oh believe me I know that. I am just worried about what might happen if I look." I let out a laugh. That upset her I guess because next thing I knew she was splashing water at me. "Don't laugh. What you don't want me to? I know you feel the same pull I do."

She stopped splashing and then turned to look at me. She was beautiful. The moonlight glistening from the water droplets on her silky white skin just added to her beauty. Yes of course I wanted her but I didn't want to push her into anything.

"Willow, I do want you but I don't want to do anything that you might regret later." She swam closer to me.

"I don't know what it is Luke but I feel very comfortable with you almost like I'm supposed to be here with you. So I know that I won't regret anything." Then she reached up and placed her soft lips against mine. I kissed her back claiming her lips as mine. I heard her soft moan of pleasure and it made me want her more.

I pulled back a little bit and stared down into her eyes. "Willow, I think we should wait. There are a few more things that I need to discuss with you before we do anything else." I could see the hurt and confusion in her eyes as she swam away from me. She went to the shore and walked out of the water. I followed behind her.

"Willow please don't be upset. There are things that I haven't told you yet that could affect your choice. I just want to make sure you know everything before..." I stopped and turned my head. The wind had blown a stench across my path. Then I heard something rustling in the brush near us.

"What is it Luke?" Willow was now staring in the direction I was.

"Willow whatever happens I need you to just keep running until you reach the cabin. Do you understand me?" She nodded. I turned back just as something struck me with force. I did a flip and shifted mid-air. I landed as I heard Willow scream.

"Luke!" When I looked up there was a huge bear stocking twords me. Shit. Willow's eyes were huge as the bear came charging at me. I dodged the first swipe of it's massive paw but got caught by the next one. It threw me into a tree knocking the wind out of me and possibly breaking a rib.

I tried to get back up but the bear was coming at me fast again. What the fuck is this bears problem? I braced myself for the next attack but then a flash of white fur jumped on the back of the bear and I heard it scream out. Willow was amazing. She was doing her best to hold on as the bear tried to throw her off.

"Dad! Bear attack. Help!" I sent out my plea for help and then watched the bear finally free Willow from it's back and she went flying. She flipped in the air though and landed on all fours in front of me. She stood between me and the bear growling and showing her teeth. That's my Willow. She was practically a pro.

The bear seemed to think twice about charging again and then turned away. It took off into the trees and then I saw the reason it was so agressive. Two little cubs came running down a tree and followed behind their mom. Willow turned back to me and then ran her snout under my chin.

"Can you get up?" Her voice entered my head full of concern. I stood and whimpered in pain but I forced myself up. Willow stayed pace with me as we made our way back to the house. I saw her ears perk and she stopped in front of me. She started growling again and I looked in front of us.

"Wow. Calm down kiddo. It's just me." My father came out in front of us and Willow backed down.

"Sorry." She whined. He just shook his head at us and took lead. When we got back to the house Willow stopped and waited for me. Once she saw that I was moving a little better she jumped up and shifted. I watched her perfect naked ass grab her clothes and walk inside. Maybe that little fight gave her a boost of self esteem.

"Are you okay son?" I looked at my father and shook my head.

"I think so. I might have a broken rib or two though. I'm a little nervous to shift back."

"Well you should be alright and I'm right here if it's to much. Go ahead." I nodded and shifted. There was pain but it was bearable. I stepped up on the porch and grabbed my shorts. I pulled them on ad my dad shifted back and grabbed his clothes from my mother.

"Your mother and I are going on a trip. We believe we found where Willow came from." I stopped and looked at him.

"What are you talking about? I didn't know you were even looking into her." I was becoming upset.

"Calm down son. We just happened to come across an article the other day. It was talking about a dead teenage boy and a girl that was missing. I just want you to know that we are going to check it out. Luke she may have killed someone and not even realize it. Or that might be what she is blocking out." I took a deep breath. Could my little innocent Willow be a killer?

"When do you leave?"

"Tonight. We will be gone for a few days but I will call and keep you updated. Hopefully we will find some answers. In the meantime you two stay close to the house." I nodded. I wouldn't let her go anywhere without me anyway.

I walked inside and stopped at Willow's door. It was cracked and I could see her sitting on the bed. I knocked and she told me to come in. " Are you okay?" She asked me as I walked in. She stood and came over to my arms. She pushed on my side making me flinch a little bit.

"I'm okay Willow. Just a little sore. Perk of being a werewolf. We heal quickly." She smiled up at me. Her beautiful emerald green eyes staring into mine.

"Luke why did I feel everything that happened to you? Is that part of being a werewolf to?" I sighed as she asked these questions. I guess I might as well tell her the truth.

"Have a seat Willow. I am going to explain it to you like my parents explained it to me. Then maybe you will understand why I stopped us earlier from doing anything else." She followed me to the bed and took a seat. I explained everything about love and finding your mate. The same way my parents told me. She listened carefully to everything I said.

"So basically what you are telling me is that you think we are meant to be mates." She stood and started to pace the room.

"Willow it's okay. I believe that we are meant to be together, yes, but I would never push you into something until you are ready. I know that this is all alot to take in. But I want you to understand that the more time we spend together the more I feel the pull and I will be anything you need me to be. I will do whatever you need me to do and I will protect you at all cost."

She stopped pacing and looked at me. It was as if something clicked in her. She walked over and pushed me back on the bed placing her lips to mine. She kissed me with hunger and need. It was taking everything in me to not just take her.

"Willow." I whispered in between kisses. She stopped and pulled back.

"I'm sorry." She stood and walked to the balcony. I knew she was fighting within herself. She still didn't completely understand everything and now her hormones were running at full speed. I walked out to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"Don't be sorry. I know that you are feeling things differently and as a wolf these feelings are intensified. I promise I will be here when you are truly ready." Just then I saw my parents taking off. Willow looked at me.

"Where are they going?"

"Well they got a tip about another possible wolf like us. Someone that might not know what they are. They went to check it out." I didn't want to tell her that they were going to check her out.

"Do you guys do that often?" I could feel a little fear when she asked that question.

"Yes. We believe there are several of us left but that many might not know their true heritage. So whenever we get wind of someone we will go and check into it." She sighed and I thought that maybe she was starting to remember something but she just turned and went back inside. I followed behind her and decided to give her some space.

"If you need anything just come get me. Promise me you won't go running without me though." She nodded and then I walked out leaving her to her thoughts. I could tell her emotions were all over the place but fear seemed to be standing out the most. I wasn't sure if it was fear of the unknown or if she was hiding something and was afraid we would find out. I went to my room and closed the door. I refused to believe that she had killed someone. I just didn't see that in her.

Demetris POV...

It's been a few weeks since the pretty girl had caught my interest. I have gone a few times and watched her from a far. Jaden and Cleo don't know that I have been watching her. There is something special about this girl I just can't figure it out yet. The wolf family that protects her is small as far as I can tell. I have only seen three of them but that doesn't mean there isn't more of them. I don't want to start a war without knowing what I am getting into.

Tonight I creep away to go watch her again. I come to the tree line by the cabin and see her on the balcony with the younger wolf. He wrapped his arms around her and I felt a sting of jealousy in my ice cold heart. Could she be the one I have been searching for? Cleo has filled my need for a long time but there has always been something that wanted more. Was it this young precious woman?

I hear something in the brush beside me. The scent that comes through the air is familiar. "Who's there? No need in hiding I can smell you." A figure appears from the brush and I smile.

"Hello Demetris. Long time no see. Tell me has this pretty thing caught your attention to?" I cocked my head at him.

"Well my dear friend Jonas Hathaway. How do you know of this girl?" Jonas flashed an evil grin and I knew he had been up to no good.

"Hmm I sort of killed her boyfriend and made the whole town think it was her. Have you seen her shift yet?"

"What are you talking about?" I questioned him. He walked up next to me.

"She is one of them but she is different. Wait and see. If you put her in real danger you will see her true form." I laughed out loud.

"She was attacked by a bear and didn't shift into anything. I think you have the wrong girl." He looked out at her and smiled again.

"Nope that is her. I never forget a pretty face. Maybe she didn't remember shifting then but I promise you she will." We stood and watched as the two older wolves came out of the cabin. They took off in the opposite direction of us and then the girl and the young man went back inside.

"Well how about you come home with me and tell me all about this girl. I'm sure Cleo will love to see you." Jonas smirked.

"You still hanging around that crazy bitch. I could use some entertainment for a few days. Lead the way." He knew Cleo all to well. She was crazy and would probably give him a good fuck to. Like I said she is useful but not meant for only me. We took off back to the house and I couldn't get what he said out of my mind. Was that pretty little thing really a wolf? I didn't want to believe it. Why would I be so drawn to her if she was? I guess I will have to wait and see.
