I would recognize that voice anywhere. Only he could make my body respond the way it did to his voice. My heart knew he didn't belong with me then why couldn't my body get the memo?

I turned to face him.

"Who comes to a carnival without money?" I asked him, concealing whatever inner battle my heart was fighting against my body.

He smiled softly.

"I didn't say I came without money. I asked if you mind buying for me" he told me.

I scoffed and collected the cotton candies.

"Same difference" I responded

"Actually…."

"Yes" I answered flatly

"What?" He asked confused

"Yes, I mind buying for you" I answered again.

He laughed and I thought I'd faint right there. His laugh was throaty yet it sounded like melodious music to my ears.
