Prologue

"Here, take my hand. Even if you fall,

I'll be there to help you stand  back up again"

His Flower's Point Of View

The thick stench of blood was strong in the smoke filled air. My nose wrinkled as I inhaled the scent. My instincts had me gagging, maybe too loudly. Another scream echoed from not too far away and I squeezed my eyes shot, willing the horrifying sound of pain to disappear. A small sound of desperation escaped my parted lips and I froze in my position. That was loud. More loud than I thought it would be.

A hand was smacked over my mouth. "Shh! Be quiet, Rosie. They can hear you with their enhanced senses." ,my sister hissed from beside me. My body tensed at the sound of leaves crunching and twigs snapping. A booming, powerful voice, spoke. Though the voice was commanding and strong, it did not hold as much power as an Alpha King would.

"Go, look for survivors. Seek the young, decent looking ladies and bring them with you. We'll meet back here. Eliminate the rest of them." After he said that, large groups of men dispersed throughout the burning village and into the houses that had any sign of life in it still. The air seemed crisp and there was a tense silence lingering. There was no doubt people heard. It was almost impossible not to.

Footsteps sounded in every direction leaving me trembling with quiet sobs. My sister put a reassuring arm around my shoulder, bringing me closer to her like a mother would to her scared child. She always did this whenever I felt the anxiety and terror creeping in. It always calmed me, but this time... this time it reminded me of the danger we were both in.

The wind was suddenly knocked out of the both of us as we were pushed from behind. Lana let out a scream as we both landed on our faces in the gravel floor.

The sharp objects painfully dug into my soft flesh, effectively breaking my tender skin. Rough, big hands wrapped tightly around my arms, yanking me up with a powerful tug. My heart started racing and disbelief settled in.

One of the hands grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up. Yellow looking eyes met my own. The man looked to be in his late twenties. He had long, brown hair. His lips turned into wicked grin and a satisfied look was directed my way. The man looked as if he had won the largest price.

A sneaky finger of his latched on to a pale blonde, almost white, curl in my head. He harshly tugged it, earning a wince from me. The action gave me a sense of deja vu. My hair and my body had been abused before so this was just another painful trigger.

The man leaned closer, directly in front of me. "You will do good for the king. He'll give you some sort of use but, who knows? Maybe I'll be lucky enough and keep you." A huge feeling of helplessness clouded my head and my body went numb all over. A streak of tears followed it's path down my cheek, leaving a wet trail behind.

From the side of my eye, i saw Lana trying to push and pull her way out of another wolf guard's grip, but to no avail. Two completely different reactions we had. She was fighting for her way out, I simply stood here, letting the memories and pain consume me.

His evil smirk grew. I struggled out of the iron hold he had on me, maybe that would make me feel a little better knowing that at least I tried to free myself. Nothing happened. If anything, my despair intensified. I looked around to find many other younger women like me doing the same. Some were like Lana and some were like me. My heart ached at the sight of male wolves manhandling delicate looking women as well. It was horrible. I turned to my sister who held to the same helpless look as me. This was it. It was over for us.

The men started pulling us to a station where other two guards were waiting. They seemed to be taking note of the amount of girls they've caught and asking for names. When it was my turn to say my name, the man looked at me for a second and then turned back to his papers. The amount of pity his glance emitted was worrying. "Rosalya Shalí", I quickly said, my voice not being able to go above a whisper.

The other guard asked me to speak louder and I flinched when his voice reached a loud pitch. I repeated myself and just like that, the process was over. From then on we started to walk. I passed by the town center and what used to be the pretty gardens that were now burnt to ash. I didn't see Lana. I lost her from my sight the moment we were forced to get into the line for registration.

It was a slow realization that we were leaving the village. We were going far away. I was leaving the bad memories, yes, but I was also leaving my childhood and everything I once loved. The faces I once was so familiar with... the people I'd watch from a bench in the garden when home and loneliness became too much. The place where my parents and older siblings were buried... everything.

We were leaving everything and that didn't exactly sit right with me. My eyes were looking everywhere but I was as quiet as a mouse. It was as if I was watching everything from a third point of view. I completely zoomed out from reality and just watched... from the back of my head, curled in a ball. Still not believing what was currently going on.

It looked real... it sounded real, but it didn't feel real. It amazes me how the human brain refuses to acknowledge and accept situations that it just isn't willing to admit how true they are. But it's happening.

We've been captured.
