Lila Moreno wiped the sweat off her forehead, pinching the bridge of her nose as she let out a heavy sigh. Grabe, ang haba ng araw na ‘to. Wala pa rin matapos ang mga reports na pinapasa sa kanya, habang si Mr. Vilar, her billionaire boss, parang wala sa mood na makausap. Tapos bigla siyang tinawag sa office niya hindi sa usual na time. Lila froze, alam niyang kapag tinawag si Adrian Vilar sa ganitong oras, hindi lang basta meeting ang mangyayari.

Pumasok siya sa office. Madilim. Lamig ng aircon na sumasalubong sa kanya, halong amoy ng expensive cologne at leather chairs. “Ah, Lila,” sabi niya, at ngumingiti siya, pero hindi yung normal na smile. Ibang klase. “Tulungan mo nga ako dito. Pero wag ka muna umalis. Gusto kitang kausapin nang mas… personal.”

Lila felt her heart skip a beat. Personal? Sa Adrian Vilar? Parang may something dito na hindi professional, pero hindi rin masyadong halata.

Lila blinked. Hindi siya sigurado kung dapat ba siyang mag-flatter o mag-protesta. “S-sir, thank you…” she stammered, trying to keep her voice steady, pero ramdam niya yung mabilis na tibok ng puso niya.

Ngunit hindi siya pinatigil ni Adrian dun. He reached out and brushed his fingers lightly against her arm. “Sir, ano po ba talaga ang gusto ninyo?” she finally managed to ask, her voice a mix of shakiness and curiosity.

Lila felt her knees weaken. “C-kon…trata? Ano po ba…?”
