Alex's POV,

I'm wrapping up a dinner meeting with potential clients, the kind that drags on longer than necessary because everyone wants to toast to something. The deal is basically sealed, and all I want now is to go home. But Nash has been calling me nonstop, and when Nash is persistent it usually means trouble or tequila, sometimes both. He wants me to meet him at The Croft, the private social club we frequent.

Celine is still on her day off out somewhere in the city with her friends, doing whatever twenty-something girls do to feel alive. Maybe she's at a club. Maybe CJ is there too.

I tell myself it doesn't matter. That there's nothing between them.

Or that if there is, I have no right to ask.
