Chapter 001

“I never meant for it to happen,” she whispered, her voice barely rising above the silence.

Her fingers curled around the edge of the dining table, white-knuckled. Across from her, Liam stood frozen. Shock, confusion, and betrayal flickered across his face like a storm she couldn’t outrun.

“You’re joking,” he finally said. But his voice cracked. “Tell me you’re joking.”

She couldn’t.

The silence between them stretched, heavy, suffocating. Her heartbeat thundered in her chest.

“It wasn’t planned,” she said, barely meeting his eyes. “I didn’t look at him like that. Not at first.”

“My father?” Liam spat. “Of all the people in the world…my father?”

She flinched. “It’s not like I wanted this to happen. But he saw me, Liam. He listened when you stopped. He treated me like I mattered.”

Liam’s face twisted. “You were sleeping with him while we were still together, weren’t you?”

“No—” she started, but the lie tangled in her throat.

Yes.

The truth was ugly. She didn’t come here to justify it…just to tell him. Because someone had to. Because secrets don’t stay buried in families like the Frey's.

“You…you disgust me Abigail.” Liam spat.

Abi could feel his pain,anger and frustration. She hadn't planned for any of this to happen,but it just did.

“Liam, I—” but she couldn't complete it.

His brows furrowed.“And to think I was going to build a life with you Abigail. You cheated on me with my father!” 

“Tell me, Abigail. Are you doing this just because he's the alpha of the most powerful pack?” He asked.

“I said I'm sorry!” Abigail's eyes were glossy.

“All of this wouldn't have happened if you had just been there for me when I needed you,Liam. If only you had dropped ambition and focused on me and how much I was hurting,then maybe,maybe we'd still be together.” She was tired of being blamed for every single thing that went wrong.

“Me? You think this is my fault?! You're a slut Abigail. And what you did is just what sluts do.”

“Tell me,how long have you had eyes on my father,huh? Is that why you didn't let me touch you when I tried to?” He asked.

“What the fuck Liam,you're unbelievable!”

“I'm unbelievable? Do you know how much I hate my father? It could've been anybody else Abigail, but you had to choose him?”

“Shut the fuck up, Liam. You'd rather spend time with some whore than with me! We're done here. The next time we meet,you'd better call me mother.” With that, Abigail took up her purse and left the room.

Tears fell down her cheeks as she walked towards her car. How could Liam be so stupid and harsh? In her driver's seat she took out her phone and texted Ethan.

– Broke up with Liam today.

Seeing he wasn't online,she threw the phone to the backseat.

The clouds gathered and rain began to fall. This rain reminded her of the night she encountered Ethan first.

A month ago

That day,Liam had left her drunk at a club after an argument. She had no money on her so she had to walk home in the rain.

Tears fell,rain fell and she was soaked to the bone. After walking a long while,she noticed a car slowly following her.

Survival instincts kicked in and she began to run,but she couldn't outrun a car now,could she? 

“What do you want?” She asked as a group of four men came out of the car. She recognized one of them from the club earlier.

“Did your boyfriend leave you alone,miss?” One of them asked licking his lips.

“St…stay away from me” Abigail shuddered.

“No,we can't leave a pretty woman cold out here. Let's warm you up.” She was grabbed by the arm and slammed against the car.

“Please, leave me alone. I'll give you money.” Alicia pleaded. But these men didn't listen,they only cared about getting their dick wet.

The one in a red shirt who seemed to be their leader came forward. He took off his pants and underwear, leaving his manhood exposed.

“Take her clothes off!” He ordered.

“Yes boss!” These men didn't even flinch. They tore off her clothes like it was nothing.

“Leave her alone!” A voice came,calm and authoritative.

“Why don't you mind your business ehhh?” The leader asked.

Before he could take one step closer to Abigail,the figure sent him flying with just one kick.

“How dare you beat our boss!” The other man charged forward.

The figure showed no sign of panic,he dealt with them without mercy.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

When Alicia looked up,her eyes widened. It was her father in law who saved her.

“Abigail? What are you doing here?” Ethan asked. Abigail could say anything,but the tears flowing down her cheeks were enough answers.

“Liam…” she whispered.

Ethan helped her into the front seat of his car. His eyes lingered on her exposed breasts for a while before taking his suit off. “Cover up.” He said.

“Thank you.” Abigail said as he turned the ignition and started drinking. “Try not to walk alone at night on that street again. I might not be there next time.” He said.

Abigail's eyes kept darting towards Ethan as he drove. The way his muscular arms handled the gear and the steering,his focused look and the smell of his cologne filling up her nostrils.

Ethan drove through the mansion gates. “Can you walk?” He asked. “Huh?” Abi was carried away. Ethan came out of the car,walked over to her side and picked her up.

“I'm fine Mr Frey.” She said but he didn't listen. He carried her all the way to a guest room. He gently placed her on the bed. 

“Let's get your arm cleaned up.” He said before walking out. Abigail was surprised, Ethan wasn't as cruel as Liam had described. She'd met Ethan at family occasions twice and he seemed really nice but detached.

The way he cleaned her arm with care. His fingers brushed her skin slightly at intervals.He Handled it like glass. The suit Abigail had covering her chests fell off.

“Oh”

 Her full breasts were just a few inches away from Ethan's face. She saw the way he looked at it,he wanted it and she wanted him.

Slowly,she placed his hand on her exposed lap before leaning in for a kiss. The way Ethan kissed her,not with need but with passion.

It felt good, nothing like Liam's lustful kisses. She felt safe under Ethan's touch. She let him explore her body,she let him go down there. A spot she never granted Liam access to.

“This is wrong.” Ethan whispered in between kisses. “I don't care.” Abigail pulled him closer.
