Ethan was restless on his bed, he wondered how Abigail was doing and if she had been found. He picked up his phone and dialed Alex's number but he wasn't picking up and that just heightened his worry.
The doctor told him to rest as his wounds needed enough rest to heal but Ethan was so concerned about Abigail's well being that he couldn't even get enough shut eye. Scared,he dialed Alex's number again. This time,Alex picked. “What's the situation?” Ethan asked. Alex remained silent for a while. Slowly,he spoke.“We heard gunshots inside the building.”
“Which building?” Ethan asked. “Alpha kael's. We guess it's his daughter causing trouble.” Alex said, adjusting his cuff. From the background,Ethan heard one gunshot, followed by an explosion…then nothing. “Alex? Alex?” He kept shouting, but there was no response. Not caring if there was a healing wound across his back where a wolf had scared him with its paws,Ethan stood up and ordered for the jet to be prepared immediately. The doctor kept telling him to go lay on the bed and get some rest, but he was completely defiant. His heart kept beating wildly,he couldn't let any harm come to Abigail. And for Ariana,he would deal with her later.Immediately the jet landed at the spot,Ethan came down. The building before him had collapsed and was engulfed in flames. He saw Liam's car at the front, was he also inside?
Alex hurried over as soon as he saw his boss. “Where is she?” Ethan asked. “She…she's inside. We don't know if she is dead or alive for now.” Alex stammered. “Find her!” Ethan ordered. He was going insane.Frustrated,he dug his fingers in his hair and dragged them to ease the tension.
If Abigail was really dead,he would destroy the whole of the Frey and the Kael family till there isnothing left.
The fire fighters arrived not longer after, trying to calm the flame down and look for any survivors.A few minutes later, the flames calmed down and Liam walked out of the ruins with Abigail in his arms.
Ethan could hardly recognize them as they were covered in dust. Ethan could hear Abigail wheezing in Liam's arms. He walked forward, wanting to take her into his arms, but she clung unto Liam's shirt like a second skin. Ethan paused, taking in what had just happened. His jaw clenched as he remembered something. Liam and Abigail were probably back together already, and he was just the third wheel. Ethan called Alex and told him they were leaving already. Alex was shocked, his boss had wanted to see Abigail all along. He looked like he would burn the world down just to look for her. And now that she'd been found,he wanted to leave? It just didn't make sense. “Is Ariana out?” Ethan asked, with tight fists. “Not yes boss” Alex answered. “Immediately they find her, take her to the dungeon.” He ordered before getting back into the jet. Abigail had small cuts and bruises on her body, but it couldn't match the ones in her heart. She saw the worry and fear on Ethan's face the other time, but she knew she had to let him go if she wanted him to be happy. She couldn't bear to live with the guilt of knowing she was the cause of his banishment from the pack. “Are you okay?” Liam asked her, concern etched on his face. “Yeah,I'm good.” Abigail sat up. She looked at Liam,he had more cuts than she had. He sacrificed himself to save her. When the gunshot rang in the building minutes ago,she thought they had died. But Liam came to save her at all costs. He really showed courage and bravery, and she appreciated that. Thinking back to Ariana, Abigail frowned. Did that bitch get away with what she did? Come to think of it,she wasn't even arrested. Well, the position of alpha's daughter came with its perks. “I'm so sorry I put you through all of that.” He apologized. Abigail was taken back, when did Liam suddenly change? ~~~ Ethan's mind kept replaying the scene over and over again. Did Abigail really want nothing to do with him? Were the rumors really true? He couldn't believe it. Something must've happened while he was away, but he didn't know what it was yet. He sighed, looking outside the window. What was really happening?! Beside him,his phone rang but he didn't pick up. He wasn't in the mood for anything that wasn't about Abigail. But the phone kept ringing non stop. Annoyed,he picked up the phone. He was even more annoyed when he saw that it was an unknown number. “What do you want?” He asked the caller,a brow raised and his jaws clenched “Don't you miss me, honey?”A cool voice asked him.
Ethan's eyes widened“Bianca?”
Ethan took Abigail's hand.“I really want to show you in every way that you're my choice,” he said. “So, I'll stay with you tonight.”“And tomorrow?” She asked, teasingly. “Every other night…till forever.”It felt good hearing that. Ethan figured he would deal with Bianca's problem by morning of the next day. He was so sure that she wasn't pregnant and after the test result had confirmed that, his would send her away, a mistake he wouldn't make again. He pulled her to himself, just to taste the sweetness of her lips. “I've missed doing this,” he confessed. “I've missed your laughs. You have no idea.”Abigail slapped his chest with mock annoyance. “You left me all alone.”He wrapped her with his arms. “I'm sorry, my pigeon.”“Pigeon.”“‘cause you're cute and smallish.”Abigail smiled. “It was you, wasn't it? The person who did my job.”“Stayed all night for you.”Her smile widened. Then she raised her head. “Oh my gosh! It was you. You sent me that money.”Ethan didn't affirm but hi
Bianca's heart had been racing erratically ever since Ethan requested for a proof of pregnancy, and worse, Alex, his over keen assistant was right there with her to ensure she didn't doctor the result. She sat there, hoping for an escape. If Ethan found out that her pregnancy claim was a lie, he would be mad at her deception and lock her out. She played with her fingers nervously while Alex sat there, waiting for her to go in. He had received clear instructions from his boss to follow through the process. And seeing how nervous she was, he knew she was hiding something. But for the life of him, he would never understand why his boss had decided to go back to his ex wife. Alpha Ethan had been barely alive until he found Abigail. He had seen how much he changed and he didn't care about the age difference. And the past few days without her had been torturous for him.He could never understand Alpha Ethan.“Why are you here anyway?” Bianca barked at him. “Isn't Ethan coming?”She was des
Ethan held her hand and moved dangerously close to her. She felt his warm breath against her ears. It spoke of burning desires, a call that awakened hers. But Abigail wanted so badly to resist, yet, she wanted more badly to give in, to forget about everything even for the moment and fall into the arms of the man she was still obviously in love with. “Why are you doing this to me —to us?” Ethan's voice, laced with deep desire, croaked into her ear.She shut her eyes and held her breath. With him so close, it was difficult to decide, to remain angry, or to say no.She moaned with need. Even her body couldn't deny that she missed him, and more than ever, she wanted him, yet there and now.Ethan took cue from her moan and found her lips. They crashed into each other, each touch, a reminder of the passion they ignited in one another and a testament that they were meant for each other. Abigail didn't remember Bianca and her pregnancy and Ethan didn't think of Daven and what relationship h
It was too late for regrets, Abigail knew that. So she didn't apologise. She glared at him like how she wished she could glare at every wolf who had called her a hybrid or looked down on her. He was bearing the brunt because he couldn't mind his business.Despite the gravity of her words and the way it made him feel initially, Daven realised he wasn't really mad. It soothed him, strangely.Wasn't it the truth?Besides, he had never had never had anyone speak to him that way. Even abroad, the ladies always kept their thoughts to themselves because of what they could gain from him. And back here, he was the Alpha's son.“You insulted me first,” Abigail declared. “Do you not realise it? You don't respect my decision because I am a hybrid.”Daven nodded. She was right. He had overstepped. He started the car and took the opposite lane, returning back to the office. Abigail didn't want this ride home. She didn't want to be in the space of someone who constantly ridiculed her existence. Wa
It was a relief to Abigail. For one, she had thought she had been set up. And she really needed a new card after Daven rudely broke hers. She was actually on her last cent and she knew how excruciatingly difficult it was to get a card at the bank.Well, unless your blood screamed pure wolf. She could afford to frown now.“You made me beg for nothing.”It was infuriating being around someone who enjoyed making fun of others. But for now, Abigail kept her cool. She needed him to help her sort her card issues. After then, she would tell him to stay the hell away from her. She wasn't a hybrid that needed some pure wolf’s shadow to navigate her way around. She had been doing just fine before every one of them.Daven chuckled and led the way. “I didn't know you had a tear in you,” he said as he turned towards the bank. He owed Abigail a new card. But that was now really the reason he had decided to help her. Truth was, he couldn't stop thinking about her and desiring to hold her. And his
Daven held the steering, feeling proud. He had the woman he wanted, seated beside him. And even though her face was moulded into a scowl, a win was a win.Abigail sat quietly, wondering where Daven was taking her to. The day was bright and a public place was a huge no. She didn't want to be in another scandal. Mia had told her straight. She would abandon her. She couldn't even survive another scandal, being looked at as she walked the street and hated by even the unloved - the hybrids. She faced Daven. “Lunch break is thirty minutes,” she reminded him. He probably had never worked, she thought. And had no regard for time. “Where are you taking me to?”Daven flashed a smile that grated on her nerves. “Chill. Will ya? And don't worry, it's my company. No one can sack you.”“It's not yours if you're not CEO,” she shot quietly. She understood boys like Daven. Always having things done for them their whole life and even too lazy right now as a grown adult to reason with their brains. The
