I was glad she walked away. She would get hurt if I didn’t go easy on her. Katherine was a twig: no meat on her bones. She was one of the girls who overestimated their abilities over me. Not to brag, but I was over one hundred years old. She was merely 15-17 considering the last time I saw her. This gave me an extensive advantage over the girl

I have been beaten by many vampire women, but never alone werewolf. Especially, not a lone werewolf who had just been hit by a car. She had a very slim chance considering her frame and accident yesterday.

I wondered if she knew that I saved her. She looked too surprised to know. She wasn’t conscious when I picked her wolf up from the road. I was on a hunt with my clan when I saw her lifeless wolf. I didn’t know why I saved her. It went against all of my instincts.

“ You might want to follow her on your way out, “ I badgered

I guess I looked threatening enough for them to not say anything. That JJ guy was getting on my last nerve. I’d never had someone so young seriously threaten me. It wasn’t really a serious threat since, I could tell by his actions, he was very weak and self-doubting. The weakness came from self-doubt and he had a lot of it. I’d been alive for a while and I could tell when someone had lost themselves and used anger as a front.

“ You mind clearing this out, Parker? “ I commanded

“ Yes, but I’ll do it, “ Parker mumbled

“ I’m gonna head home. Make sure the rest of the clan comes home and doesn’t do anything, “ I exhaustedly said.

I was tired from all of the acting to be friends. We all knew we hated each other. God, that’s why I came here in the first place. I wanted to pester them like an opened, infected wound. After what they—the omega—did to my mother, I’d do anything for them to feel the pain I felt every day with her gone. The war wasn’t over until only one race was left and that was just a fact. We were complete opposites: enemies. We hated everything the other did even if it was hypocritical. I could say that I wanted us to get along all day, but it wouldn’t happen. I saw how the vampires and werewolves were separated.

I headed back to my silver BMW on the plot of land outside the warehouse. The warehouse used to be an old furniture factory.

I sat down and was happy to be alone.
