FAZER LOGINKieran POV
“How are you doing, Kieran?” I was shocked to see Alpha Alaric standing between me and my convoy. I was shocked to see Alpha Alaric standing here; the last time I saw him was about a decade ago.
“What do you want?” I asked him, knowing that he was here because of the deal we had ten years ago. I wonder why he’d show up like this. The last time I heard about him was when he was locked up in prison.
“We should talk about the money you owe me.”
“I don’t owe you.”
“Alright then. I’m around, and you know what happens when you don’t give me what I want.” He marched out with his men and got into his convoy.
I wondered why he showed up today of all days. If he wanted money, he would have contacted anyone at the office, but doing this would only get me pissed.
“She should have stayed with me. Why did she disappear like that?”
“I think she’s not used to the cameras and attention that you’re getting.”
“This isn’t the first time, so why is she running away?” I looked at my chief guard; he should have gone after her the moment he saw her slipping out of the crowd.
“Women change, she might have loved it before just to get on your good side because no one likes you when you’re pissed.” He replied and turned to his fellow soldier, who nodded in concession to his words.
The act left me perplexed at that moment; I wasn’t thinking about them, but the fastest way to get Lyra back.
I was surprised to see Valeria standing at the entrance to my bedroom. I figured my father must have let her in despite my strict warning against letting anyone upstairs.
“Hey, darling.” She spoke barely above a whisper, trying to sound seductive. Only if she knows how irritated I feel standing an inch away from her.
She’s blocking me from entering my private space, and I have to go back and forth with her before she lets me in.
“You never mentioned you were visiting my house, Valeria,” I replied as she blocked me yet again after I tried reaching for the door.“I wanted to surprise you.”
“I’m too old for surprises, so quit doing it.” I barked, pointing to the doorknob.
She knew I was obviously tired of standing and exchanging words with her.
“Come on, why are you so hard? I only came here because I missed you. You lit a fire inside of me and expected it not to burn…” I didn’t respond to her words and continued undressing, getting ready for dinner.
“Alpha Kieran!” She roared, stomping on her feet.
“What’s wrong with you, Valeria? I returned from work, not expecting to see you, and you expect me to be thrilled that you’re here. I have a lot on my mind right now, and this isn’t one of them.” I explained as she dragged my hand and wrapped it around her waist, embracing me in the process.
She wouldn’t do this if Lyra were around. I’m certain that she’ll put Valeria in her place. Though my father wants us together, I can’t be with someone I don’t cherish.
“The excitement I felt on my way here is what I expect from you because it’s a long way, yet I felt it every second.” She giggled, widening the smile on her face.
“Nothing excites me anymore,” I replied hastily, excluding Lyra because she’s the only one who excites me, and she does that consistently.
“Did something happen at the office? You can talk to me.”
“I’m fine, Valeria. I’m famished,d and I need to fill my stomach, ch so are we going or not?”
“Alright, let’s go then.” She held my hand so tight I could feel her desperation through my palms.
I wish she’d realize that she has no future with me before it’s too late.
“Father. We’re here.”
“Your lady came by, and you didn’t bother to say a word to me about it.” He let out before his council. I never wanted a dinner with everyone around, so they think Valeria and I are a thing when we’re not.
“I never knew she was coming. She shows up unannounced, that’s Valeri, and we have to get used to it.” I chuckled, stealing glances at both sides.
“She changed the menu and supervised the preparation of the meal.” I wasn’t surprised when my father mentioned this, filling her with praises before the council.
“Father, you don’t need to say all that.”
“I have to praise our future Luna because she deserves it, she has those leadership qualities, and she reminds me so much of…”
“Don’t do that,” I warned my father immediately because he knows how much I hate him comparing anyone to my late mother.
“There’s nothing wrong with what I just said.”
“I’ve had enough. I’d find a spot to eat. Thank you for making me lose my appetite.” I replied and got up from the table, watching as Valeria was about to push her chair backwards.
“I can come with you, Kieran.”“Stay back and enjoy the meal that you prepared. I insist.” I growled calmly, not making it obvious to everyone that I was angry.
She knows how chaotic I am when pissed off,ff my father had already stepped on my last nerve.
“Get the driver, I’d like to have a meal outside the house.”
“Do you have a spot in mind?” I was startled by the driver creeping up behind me.
“Have you been standing there?”
“Admiring the beauty of what I drive, I’d get to this level someday and own a sweet ride like this. You’re the boss of bosses, and I’m proud of being your chauffeur.” He led me to the SUV and ushered me in before turning around the car to the driver’s seat.
How do I find a spot where I can have a good meal without being followed by the media?
Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to
Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I
Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Ethan wa
Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to
Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
