Kieran POV

“Take us to a spot where you’re sure there would be no reporters. I just want to have a meal and head back home. Do you understand that?” I leaned my back on the leather seats, trying to get a hang of everything that was happening.

I don’t like the fact that my father compared Valeria to my mother. That’s a lady I don’t even see myself sharing a bed with anymore. She’s more like old news to me. I hate her, but she doesn’t know that, and my father, on the other hand, thinks that I’d get married to her to seal the deal between both packs.

My phone vibrated inside of me, bringing me back to reality. I was surprised to see a text from Lyra. Lyra never texts, so why is she texting me now?

I DONT KNOW WHY IM DOING THIS BUT I NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR RUNNING AWAY FROM YOU. THE ATTENTION WAS INTENSE, AND IT SCARED ME

I read the text that she sent to me,e and I asked myself;

“Why would she be apologizing to me? Lyra never texts. Is she safe? What if someone is hurting her and using her phone to text me?”

“Get me on a direct line to my father. I want no traces.” I texted our tech expert, right, rt and he gave me a direct call link to my father in less than a minute.

“Dad, I think something is wrong with one of my workers, rkers so I’d have to go check it out and I’d be coming back late, so don’t worry about me.”

“What about Valeria? She’s right, he, re and she’s waiting for you. The poor lady needs her husband, and how would you promise to spend the night in her arms and run off like a little kid?” My father’s words infuriated me; he was telling me Valeria’s exact words.

What has she been telling my father and the council? I should have stayed back home and defended myself; she would have had their heads twisted against me. She wants union with or without my will.

“Valeria said this to you? That’s so smart of her. I don’t want to see her face when I get back. Tell her to go back to her father.”

“He wants you to go back to your father, and he’ll come see you tomorrow.”

“Can I speak to him?” The moment I heard her voice, I ended the call and tossed the phone to the other door. I was fuming profusely.

How dare she sit there and do whatever she wants to me, like I’m vulnerable to her? I should have my hands on her throat and squeeze a constant fear into her eyes. She’d see me as the key to her existence.

‘I’D LIKE YOU TO TRACK THIS NUMBER 00081007’

I texted Lyra’s line to my tech expert and waited for about three minutes before I applied, CALLHER AND STAY ON THAT CALL FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE. THAT IS ALL WE NEED.

I called her number immediately, and then I asked a question.

“Is Crystal there? Is she alive?” I asked calmly, waiting for a response for over one minute.

“She’s alive and well. What do you want?” The voice wasn’t Lyra and that sent a cold chill down my spine.

“I’d like to speak to her.” I didn’t stammer, but I was wondering why I was a bit scared.

“She’s asleep, she had a lot of juice and ate a whole plate of pasta. I’m her friend, nd Olivia, and I want you to give me a review for my book because I want to be an author known by a lot of prominent men who can give me a good chance at life. Little support here and there would be a good start.t” Despite speaking so fast, I caught every word she said.

“Send the hook to me, and I’d have your review sent to the press by 7:00 am. Just tell me where you are so I can come get Lyra.”

“Alright then. We have a deal. I’ll send the address right now.” She ended the call; her friend was doing this to her.

I wonder if she has her tied or in handcuffs. I showed the address to my soldier, he nodded his head in concession, and applied more pressure on the clutch.

He knew that we were going to get the future Mrs Lyra  Blackwood.

I cocked my gun and parked a few meters away from the red brick house on my left. I barged into the house and found Olivia standing close to the door. I went into the bedroom and found Lyra lying on the bed peacefully in her night robe.

“I’ll take her home.” I carried her in my arms, and surprisingly,y she didn’t even open her eyes. Her friend dropped her hook on her body and wished me well. I asked my driver not to do anything to her because I had Suxy in my arms.

She’s the reason why I’m here in the first place.

While on our way back, I realized that she was satisfied with the food that she had, which is why she didn’t notice the switch in her sleep.

We drove into a very deep bump that rocked the SUV, and there and then she opened her eyes and tried to get a view of her environment.

“Who the fuck are you?” She snapped as she threw her hands at me, but I dodged them and kissed her lips by pushing my face downwards.

She continued kissing me, I knocked on the button,t and the driver pressed the button to make a black panel separating the back seat from the driver’s seat. He wouldn’t know what’s happening behind the SUV because the music player is on and the volume is at its peak.

“I didn’t know it was you, Kiera; you would have told me that you were coming.”

“Your friend made me come to you?”

“How’s that possible?” She drew backwards and picked up her phone.

“I never texted you!” She roared, looking at the text where Olivia told her she was the one texting about her book review.

“Olivia did this all to get a review for her book. Are you going to give her that review?”

“Yes, I have to because she delivered me into my arms unharmed. It’s the least I could do. I don’t go back on my words.” I held her arms, but she pushed them off and sat close to the other door.

She wanted her space,e and I gave it to her. I picked up her phone and tossed it out the window after removing the SIM card. I broke the card in half while she watched in utter shock.

“Have you gone nuts!”

What is on her mind right now?”

Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne

Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to

Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I

Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to

Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
