Crystal POV

How dare he kiss a lady in my presence? If he wants to have her, he can have her for all I care. I’m here for the money,y so this shouldn’t be a problem for me, but I feel hurt and can’t explain why the scent of her lip gloss pissed me off and stopped me from kissing him.

“Calm your nerves down. He might be honest with you.” Allen, my wolf, spoke to me, but I felt very nervous and uneasy. Like the air around us was cho, king, and I needed to breathe.

“What’s wrong with you, Crystal? Your hands are shaking.” I watched him try to reach for my hand as he cared about me.

If he cares about me, he’d have considered how I’d feel knowing that he kissed another lady. The same lady we danced to spite, he doesn’t know how I feel right now.

“Don’t touch me.” I flared up, attracting the attention of the guard sitting beside the driver.

“Keep your eyes on the road and don’t say a word,” Kieran warned him.

“Your hands are shaking, and that means a lot. Are you scared of anything?”

“Why would I be scared! I asked you not to touch me.” He watched me snap with a sad look on my face.

“If this is about Valeria, I suggest you put an end to this charade.” He was using a dominant voice with me.

“You call it a charade, but you never thought of how I’d feel when you kissed another lad,y and he was there with you.”

“Can you tell this lady exactly what you saw?” He rubbed the guard’s right shoulder.

“They were discussing the reason why we…”

“Get straight to the point and answer the fucking question.” I had gotten Kieran pissed, and he was trying too hard to explain it to me so I wouldn't be angry, and in that light, I felt very happy.

“She kissed him,m and not the other way around. That was my handkerchief, and the lady in question doesn’t even know how to handle her makeover, much less on her lips.”

“And you didn’t think to clean it off completely?” I rolled my eyes and pushed his hand away, tossing his phone back to him.

“You don’t have to be angry right now. I want you to understand that I’d do nothing other than make you happy and let you enjoy the contract fully.” He tried to hold my hand, but I refused, trying to see how far he’d go to get my forgiveness.

“Well, the rules are meant to be followed. Don’t make me look like…”

“Keep it down. Don’t say much, I think we should head to one of my hotels and spend the night there. I don’t want to go back to the house. Would you go with me?” He suggested, holding his phone.

If I agree to do this, that means I’m cheap, and I succumb to everything he says. He was about to book the reservation when I stopped him.

“I don’t want to go into a hotel with you because the reporters would give wrong meanings to the act.”

“To what act?”

“I don’t want to go into a hotel with you at this time of night. Take me home where I know I’m safe.”

“Do you think my father would protect you if a war broke out in our pack at this time of the night?”

“You’re not safe without m., I’m your bodyguard, your husband, your best friend, and even your brother. Do you understand that?”

“Yet you went ahead to let another woman kiss you.” I hissed and turned to the window. He never said a word.

I knew he was watching me to see if I’d turn my head back and lock eyes with him, but I remained in that position until we drove through the gates of the castle.

He wanted to open the door for me, but by the time he got out, I pushed the door open and got out myself.

“Are we good?”

“Yes, we are. You were not fast enough, ugh, so I decided to help myself.”

“You decided to help yourself. This is all because of a kiss, one that I didn’t even initiate.” He let out a sigh of regret, watching him leave with a heavy heart.

He went down to the other SUV to meet his fat thenther, and that allowed me to leave the scene and head into the house. I went straight to his bedroom and pulled off the dress that made him tighten the buckles of my slipper.

“Let me help you.” I heard his voice behind me as I battled with the hooks of my bra.

“You’re always here.” I let out, turning to look at my husband. The bra slid off my hands and fell to the floor.

“I’ll always be here because I don’t have anywhere to go. This is home.” He replied and planted a soft kiss on my forehead.

“Let me go see my father and discuss some issues.” He wanted to leave, but I wanted to be close to him.

“Do you want me to come along?” I wouldn’t mind coming with him if he agrees to it. I can sit beside him while he speaks to his father.

How would I stay in this big room all alone and fall asleep? It’s impossible.

“Would you go see my father naked? Put on a robe or something.” He chuckled as he started unbuttoning his shirt.

“Let me help you.” I approached him, not minding the fact that I was naked, so o I could return the favor.

I unbuttoned his shirt and got a kiss on my lips as a thank you from Kieran. He held my hand and led me out of the room. I followed him to his father’s room, but the moment I stepped in, it wasn’t a room; it was a small space that had maps scattered around the table.

“What is she doing here?”

“It’s nothing you should be worried about, Father. That room is quite bi*,i* and i* can’t stay in there alone, she can contribute to the growth and development of the pack, too. She’s a member, remember?” He vouched for me before his father, his Beta, and the Gamma of the pack.

“So I’d like to see if a woman can bring solutions to these issues.” His father mentioned as he placed a map on the other maps. I wondered what problem the pack was facing at that time that needed the use of a map to describe it.

I hope I’ll be able to prove them wrong.

Crystal POVI downed the entire contents of the first cup and filled my second cup, repeating the same act not because I wanted to get drunk. I hated that she used us for the promotion of her book without giving us any payment. The sales of her book are going to go way up, but I hope it’s worth the hype. I checked out the new stocks before he even told me about that; if only he knew how attracted I am to new stocks.“What’s wrong?”“It’s been a while, and you know how much it takes to be what you are right now, but giving her that promotion on a free platter seems too kind.”“You know I can’t let you have a third cup; we’ve still got a long day ahead of us…” He stopped immediately when someone knocked on the door.“Mr. Kieran.”“Who are you and what do you want?” I asked, belching afterward, before turning my eyes to her; he signaled me to go sit down behind my table. He figured out that the wine’s effects had started showing.“Well, we heard of the benefits you’re giving us, the owne

Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be carrying a burden that’s not meant for you.” I advised her before ushering her into the back of the truck.“I felt so nervous watching you speak to another lady, and I hate that feeling.” She confessed before turning her eyes back to her phone.I thought about Lyra’s friend and the review she asked me to make to support her book and make it a good read for everyone. She wants the media to promote her work, and I have no choice because I’d have to keep my word.We arrived at the office, and she was standing there, looking frustrated.“I thought we had a deal.”“Come with us, Olivia. There’s no reason to cause a fuss because it’s not worth it; you want a review? Then follow us.” Lyra spoke to

Crystal POV I never expected Kieran to act like that. He pushed the man away like he was trying to take something very valuable from him. He was only having a conversation, and the moment he tried to touch me, I saw the man on the ground and Kieran dragging me to the car. He agreed to stop at the cafe because he was famished, as I was. Treating ourselves to a breakfast treat isn’t a bad idea. “Why are you both staying back beside the SUV?” I asked as they got out, but didn’t want to walk with us. “Come with us, get a table, and order what you want. He’s going to pay.” I chuckled, acting like I never knew he was still pissed. While getting seated, his phone was beeping with calls, and I wondered why. I checked the schedules and realized we had no meetings today, so why would the receptionist be calling?“What’s wrong?”“Ma, there’s a woman here by the name Olivia, she’s saying that our boss has to send a review of her book to the press, and he hasn’t done that. She’s pissed, but I

Kieran POv When we arrived at the courthouse, I was relieved that there were no reporters at the entrance of the courthouse. I noticed that Lyra’s countenance changed the moment she got out of the SUV. She quickly wrapped the scarf around her head and her face, leaving only her eyes visible to the public. No one would joke that she’s the one. I figured she did that because of the reporters. “Go in there and let Judge Johnson know that we’re here to see him. Enso Blackwood is the name you’d give to him.”“Other people are waiting to see him.”“Do I look like other people? Do what you’re told, or my guards will help you do your job.” He agreed to my request because he knows that if my guard stormed into the courtroom, it would cause a little chaos, and he might lose his job in respect to that. “Wait here.” He walked into the courtroom slowly while I kept my eyes around and turned to the reception hallway, where the guard mentioned people were waiting to see Judge Johnson. Kieran POVI had to adjust myself before heading down to the dining table. My father, his beta, and Lyra were already seated without me.“Apple stew?” I was shocked that someone actually made this. No one makes better apple stew than my late mother. I ate in silence as we all did; my father didn’t say a word, and I knew why he was doing this. He didn’t want us to talk about Valeria in front of his Beta and Lyra. Why would I talk about a woman I don’t love? After the meal, Lyra went to bed and didn’t say a word to me. She dozed off in my arms, and I woke up in the morning to discover that she wasn’t in bed with me. “Lyra,” I called her name, but heard no response. I got up from bed, stretched out my arms, and got into the washroom,m but she wasn’t there. I wondered if she had left the house. I was surprised to see her running back into the house through the front gate. She went for an early morning run to wherever, and she got me worried at some point.Lyra has never woken up to

Ethan’s POV I drove to one of the city's largest law firms to see my lawyer. He’s an old friend of mine, and keeping him by my side through this divorce is the best way to keep that ugly urchin in check. “Barrister Smith. How’re you doing?”“What are you doing here?”“I’m here because of the divorce,e and you know we have to make it a lot harder for her to make her work for me,” I explained to him, watching his hand grasp for the bottle of whiskey. I stopped to observe him for a while, then noticed he was drunk and had a picture on his phone. “What’s wrong, Barrister?” I inquired as he was about to grab his pho,ne but I stopped him and wondered why he’d be drinking whiskey at this time of the day.“Come on, what’s going on here?”“I’ve been a divorce attorney for more than a decade, enjoying a happy married life,e and now I’m going through my own divorce.” I was shocked when he turned his phone screen so I could see a video of his wife and another man on a boat cruise. “You’re ab
