Corrine didn’t like the way he hung up on her. He never once did that to her before. It made her angry. Her inner she-wolf snarled in agreement with her discontent at his actions. His wolf belonged to her and only her, no one else. There was more she needed to say. The fact that this Andi Moiria just popped up out of no where was cause for concern. She may love him with all her heart but he is her best friend first and foremost. No random or ridiculously bitchy woman could take that away from her. She knew she had to continue digging into her and her weird sisters. None of them looked alike except around the eyes. They all had the same glowing eyes.
Corrine decided that very instant she heard whispers of Jace being asked out by the “queen of mean" she would make sure that anyone that would keep her from her destiny would be regretful that they did. Even though looking into those Moiria girls wouldn’t be enough she planned to stick to Jace like Loctite. Their bond was forged from years of friendship which should have acted as a repellant. Although, that didn't keep even the most persistent pests from still trying, which is how he garnered the playboy title.
Andi was still leaning against the door when Cleo and Lakeisha came home. One good thing about their being resident advisors was the gods could come and go as they pleased without cause for concern. Jupiter and Juno decided they were going to go back to their perspective houses. Apollo and Cynthia were trailing behind them. The fraternal twins looked like night and day.
Cleo noticed that Andi was standing outside. She looked from Andi to the empty sidewalk to her left and back again. She smirked. Nudging Lakeisha, they both nodded their heads as if agreeing to an unspoken desire. Cleo, the girlish girl she is, skipped over to Andi and stood in her line of sight. “Aww don’t tell me the queen of mean has fallen for the playboy of the campus. Ah the shock! The horror! Who knew he could slay the unslayable vixen. Hehehe.” She couldn’t help but giggle.
That earned her a glare from Andi. “I have not. We just went met up for daiquiri and he showed me the video of Jupiter professing his adoration and protection of us. Stupid ass.”
Cleo looked as innocent as she could with her head tilted. She wasn’t aware of a video. “That can’t be true. There’s no video.”
Andi’s left eyebrow flicked upwards as if she was being called a liar. “There isn’t now. Jace got his friend to get it pulled off the student site.”
Lakeisha then pulled the two of them in. She was teasing with her words. “Were going to be even more popular now. Just think all the guys on campus will be lining outside to get a glimpse of our fair maidens.”
Neither girl could resist laughing its quite possibly the truth or her scary nature would be the reason that the guys all looked away. Jupiter had no need to warn the guys away from them. They had each other. That was enough.
Apollo ruffled their hair to gather their attention. Cynthia knew he was being antagonistic towards them. Her arms were folded across her chest. “Little cousins shouldn’t we go inside lest you want those future admirers to steal you away and cause an upset with our liege Jupiter.”
“Oh go stuff a sock in you charming mouth. You nitwit.”
“Ah, my heart. You wound me Andi. Must you be so cruel? Haha.”
He felt it in his arms. All three girls punched him at the same time in the same arm. They may look lithe but their muscles are just as powerful as their wicked tongues could be. Cynthia only laughed at the three punches he received. How could she not laugh he did it to himself. “Ha you should know not to tease our precious little cousins Apollo. They are after all…” her voice lowered to a whisper. “older than us.”
Apollo ignored all of them. Being surrounded by women that were ganging up on him was not fun, in the least. He pushed open the door and waltz inside. That made them all laugh louder as they joined him. Andi was the last to come in except something white flashed quickly through her peripheral. It wasn’t Merc. When he ran any of them were able to see them. No this was someone or something entirely different. It looked like a blur of white fur from what she caught. Maybe this was the threat she had been waiting for. They all would really need to be on their guard from now on.
Cynthia knew what she had to do. Instead of telling Andi she left the room and grabbed Apollo. “We’re going to go ahead and leave. Sorry it seems you maybe beyond help for your first date Andi. See you in class tomorrow.”Andi looked at their retreating backs with her mouth opened in an O. Could she really be beyond help because of her clothing selection? Apollo just knew exactly what Cynthia was thinking. It was better to give a false truth than an outright lie. She had something up her sleeve.Cleo joined the two sisters. Seeing Andi with her mouth open she lightly touched her chin to close her mouth. Teasing her older sister with a smile she spoke, “You mustn’t leave your mouth open unless you want flies to make a home in there.”The audible sound of Andi swallowing and wetting her mouth was funny to the two of them. Yet, Andi had her thoughts on what she could do to make Jace look at her as something more than the Queen Bitch on campus. Only one idea woul
Once Cynthia was inside her house. She called an emergency sorority meeting. She was president of their house. Others seemed to think she was wishy-washy but in fact she was the most considerate and kind president on Greek row. The ladies in this house were all open minded and in some aspect free spirits. They all had different majors but they all wanted what’s was best for womankind.“Ladies, I need your help. It’s a bit of an emergency.”The members all joined her in the dining hall. It was where they did their discussions for the week. Each lady took their perspective seat and looked to Cynthia as they waited for her to speak.“Sisters, I need your help. It’s my cousin Andi.”They other girls turned to each other and gasp. They never spoke a word to her but they all knew the rumors surrounding her. One member spoke up since the others weren’t sure what Andi could have done. “Is this because of the rumors she is going out with Jace?”“Oh good. You heard
Both Cleo and Lakeisha looked at each other, Andi was in no shape to look into anyone’s future. Sensing what her sisters were going to say to her she decided to cut them off. “Like I said before. I’ll be fine. It won’t take me long.” She got ready, avoiding looking at herself in the mirror. She didn’t want to see how ghastly she looked. It was still cool enough to wear a hoodie in the morning. Andi didn’t put on a shirt just her hoodie and black leggings. Her boots were by the front door. Cleo and Lakiesha had gone back to bed. She knocked on both of their doors. “I’m leaving. Be back soon.” Andi opened the door and locked it. She hurried over to Greek row. Cynthia’s sorority was one she liked visiting. They were forward thinking women. She had hoped that the none of their futures would be bleak. It was nearly eight am when she got there. Just as she was about to knock on the door. Cynthia opened it. She clapped her hands together. It was weird to see her so early in
Andi begrudgingly woke up at the insistence of Cynthia. She waved her hand hoping to smack her for doing this. “I’m up. I’m up.” She sat up in the bed, sleep still in her eyes. She rubbed her hand over her face and blinked several times. It was when she looked around the room to see where the girl was that she noticed the clothing on the bed. “What’s this? Are you going out?” Cynthia smiled at her then grabbed her hands pulling her up. “No, but you are.” Once Andi was standing Cynthia placed her hands together and pleaded for forgiveness. “Don’t kill me but I knew you wanted to look amazing for your first date and the sisters and I thought we would help you look less RAWR…” She moved her hands in a cat like motion. “And more MMM.” She placed her hand by her chin. “Are you mad?” Andi couldn’t think long enough. “Yes, but I appreciate the gesture. I just wished you had told me because I had planned on going shopping today.” She sighed out of frustration. “Ah damn it. I
Jace waited for her to leave before he got up out of the bed. He didn’t want her to see him in his boxer shorts. That was the only way he could sleep. His body ran hot even before he made the change. He grabbed his phone and tried to call her. He mumbled to himself. “I could have just sent this in a text.” He tilted his head scratching near his ear. The call went to voicemail leaving him to send her a message. He wasn’t sure what she could have been doing but it was important that they talked. Jace sent her a message hoping she would call him soon. [Hey need 2 tlk asap] He pulled on his pajama bottoms. Right when he grabbed for a shirt, his senses heightened. The smell of bacon wafted into his room. Corrine may have been annoying to every possible extent but she truly did know him. With his shirt in his hand, he left out of his room. There she was standing in his kitchen next to the stove, an apron tied around her waist. If he were remotely attracted to her, he would have sn
“I see. That’s a shame but I understand. We had already started getting her beyond perfect for you. In case you were wondering.”He thought about what she could possibly be wearing that would make her perfect for him. “Can I talk to her?”“Sure but she cant hold the phone. Would you be fine if we put it on speaker? I mean every girl in here will be able to hear you.”Just then he heard a small argument on the other end of the line. He wasn’t sure what was going on over there but then he heard her voice, her voice that made him want to be with her. “Hey! Ignore her. She’s just annoying.”He could feel his heartbeat racing in his chest. “You shouldn’t be mean to family.”“So, haven’t you heard? I’m a fortune teller? A gypsy? A shaman.”He chuckled earing her call herself a fortune teller. He had heard the rumors but chose to ignore them.
He knew what she was going to say before she even said the words. “Mom, if Corrine wanted me to join her, she wouldn’t have left me behind.”She raised her left eyebrow and folded her arms over her chest. “Jace, we will talk about this after the wedding.”“Yeah, mom afterwards.” He already had his plan to be gone before that even happened. She grabbed him by the arm and made him escort her inside. The two of them walked in the doors to see the rest of their pack standing around waiting for the ceremony to get underway. When they see their Luna coming in, with the future alpha they all greeted them with a smile. Jace tried to shy away from them. But one member clapped him on the back and grabbed his hand in a handshake. Ileana spoke in the soft tone she always did. “The ceremony will be starting we should shed our human façade now and be the wolves we are meant to be.”Jace kissed her on the chee
Jace had stayed long enough to see his sister get married. The guy wasn’t bad per say but not someone he would have wanted her to be with. The reception was underway with everyone dancing. Corrine stood off to the side watching as the others enjoyed themselves. Jace watched her, watching others and realized he should try to make amends. He walked over to her and bumped into her shoulder. “You still mad at me?”She tried to ignore him but he wouldn’t allow that to happen. He kept nudging her until she as angry enough to snap at him, “Stop you dummy.”“I got you to say something to me so who’s the dummy now?”“Still you.”He turned to face her and held out his hand. “Would you like to dance?”Corrine looked down at his hand then to his face. She sighed; she really couldn’t resist him. “Fine but you really should think about what you’re doing to me.&
