Chapter 16

Cyran-

“You can’t seriously leave me in here!”

The instant we entered the house, I had thrown Azura over my shoulder and took her down to the basement. I wanted to teach her a lesson. Her reaction wasn’t what I expected, but I figured she was just being dramatic.

“You should have thought of that before you ran away. I will consider letting you out in the morning.”

Stepping away from the bed I sat her on, I moved toward the door and closed it. The room she was currently being detained in was the only room in the basement. I never got around to finishing it. The only thing in the room was a cot and a wool blanket.

I figured that I might need to put her down here at some point. Now I was glad I never fixed it up. I didn’t want her to feel like it was okay to be put in the basement. While I didn’t understand it fully, I didn’t like putting her there any more than she wanted to be there.
