Fay's eyes fluttered open slowly,a rush of sunlight drove into her eyes and she shut them quickly with a grunt.
She attempted to open her eyes again, slowly this time and squinted at the sunlight that was pouring from somewhere .
Fay's eyes adjusted to where she was and she looked around. She was lying in a very soft bed,in a magnificent room…that was odd.
Where was she?The question jammed into her head, she tried to get up but an ache ran through her body , settling on her head and she grimaced.
She tried to recollect what had happened and what she was doing here but the more she tried, the more the pain jammed into her head.
The door pushed open and some uniformed maids filed in,two of them wheeling a trolley filled with delicious food and drinks while others wheeled a cloth trolley.
Fay watched them wheel them towards the bed and they turned to her,Fay tried to sit up irrespective of the pain and soreness she felt all over her body.
“Where am I?" Fay asked silently
“Good morning,ma'am " A maid said to her,”How are you feeling now?”
Fay looked round again and then to the maid who stood smiling broadly at her.
“What am I doing here?" Fay asked again.
“You need to rest, young miss. Master has asked us to bring you something to eat and a change of clothes”She said nicely again, her smile still there.
The door pushed open again and they all turned to the direction of the door.
Fay's eyes widened in surprise as a huge , handsome man clad in suit stood by the door…that man.
She blinked as he smiled at her,she recognized him,he was the man…the visitor who had visited the mansion some days ago.
“You,”Fay said silently.
" Hello,Fay”He said, his smile as warm as his smile.
Fay was looking confused now and then she was starting to remember everything. First, she remembered how some men had burst into her room …they had thrust her into the trunk…they were about to harm her when a wolf came…
She looked at him and he smiled again as if knowing that she had remembered everything.
“You're the one who…who helped me ,the gray wolf?”She stammered.
He nodded and then signaled with a slight wave of his hand to the maids who got the message and quickly scampered out of the room.
He waited till they had all filled out before walking to her,he looked every bit of powerful and mighty as he walked.
“My name is Dominic Stormrage and I am the Lycan king”He said.
Fay's mind raced, the sound of it made fear rush up her spine but yet,the smile he gave her was warm and comforting.
“You're in my pack now,my territory and you are safe here”He told her
Fay's mind went back to the men who had attacked her,she was afraid and he saw it in her eyes.
“Those men had tried to kill me," Fay told him, with fear dripping from her voice.
" No," He said, shoving his hands into his trouser's pocket,”They weren't supposed to kill you, they were under instructions to banish you from the pack,to make you a rogue but it seems there was a change of plans and they decided to hurt you”
Fay's heart practically crawled up in her chest ,her eyes welled up with tears as she processed what he told her.
“Thank you for saving my life" She said
“You don't have to thank me,Fay. You are under my protection now and no one would hurt you,not under my watch”
Fay felt a wave of relief wash over her, then it was followed by a sense of confusion.
“But why,why did you decide to help me? I'm just a lowly slave,I can't even wolf and I can't give you anything in return for your kindness except to work for you”
Dominic smiled," I don't need you to work for me,Fay.you are special and I wonder why I was the only one who could see it in you.You have a certain…spark within you and I think you would be a valuable member to this pack”
Fay's mind was reeling, she had so many questions to ask him,how could she be special when she didn't even know who she was?
When she wasn't like any of her mates who were born with wolf traits.
“I am a failure," Fay told him, lowering her head," I was rejected by the Alpha because I was born without wolf traits,I am just full of ill luck”
“No,Fay. You are special, you are strong and powerful but you just don't know it”He told her," I see great potentials in you,one I can't overlook and I am ever ready to help you discover those potentials”
“Special" Fay repeated slowly,”A werewolf without a wolf is no wolf at all”
" Don't be quick to condemn yourself,Fay. You are more than you can ever imagine and trust me when I say this, you will be great,Fay.Very great”
Fay stared at him,she felt he was just saying all that because he didn't actually know who she was and how useless she was to anyone who was with her.
“But.." She was starting to say.
He sensed she was about to ask a whole lot of questions,he would have time for that later but not now.
“There is enough and more for you to eat and drink,it is obvious that you haven't been feeding well. You look scrawny but that will end soon”He said.
She looked towards the food and her stomach rumbled noisily, she pressed her arms against it.
Dominic smiled understandingly, his smile was literally brighter than the sun that had drift
ed into the room now.
"Rest now, Fay. You need to recover ,you have a lot ahead of you"
Dominic sat beside Fay on the bed, his eyes full of concern as he gently wrapped a thick, warm, blanket around her shivering body. Her skin was ice cold to the touch, and her breathing still came in ragged gasps. The transformation had taken a toll on her, but he knew she would be alright. The room was quiet, save for the faint crackling of the fire in the hearth, which cast soft, dancing shadows across the stone walls. The Elders had shown them to a small, secluded room in the ancient building where they could rest. Dominic had already prepared a calming herbal brew for her, the scent of mint and lavender filling the air. He helped her drink it slowly, watching as she winced slightly at the bitter taste, but she sipped it down, her fingers trembling against the cup."That should help you relax," Dominic murmured softly, brushing a strand of her damp hair from her forehead. "You did well, Fay. That was... an incredible moment."Fay nodded, but her gaze was distant, as if she were sti
The air inside the car was thick with anticipation as Dominic drove toward the unknown. Fay sat beside him, her hands tightly clenched in her lap, her mind swirling with a mix of fear, confusion, and excitement. The journey had been long, but they were finally close. The Elders had asked to meet her--no, they needed to meet her. It was time for her to understand who she truly was, what she was destined to become. It was time.As the car came to a slow stop, Fay looked out the window, her breath catching in her throat. The building before them was massive, ancient and intimidating. Towering stone walls stretched up to the sky, covered in ivy and worn by time. At the entrance stood two giant wolf statues, their eyes fierce and unblinking, as if guarding the threshold to a realm beyond her comprehension. The statues were worn, but their majesty still commanded respect.Dominic's voice cut through her thoughts as he turned off the engine. "We're here."Fay nodded silently, her heart raci
The night was thick with an eerie silence that settled like a heavy blanket over the mansion. Outside, Fay could hear even the faintest sounds, she listened as the wind whispered through the trees, and inside perhaps from the very far distance, all was still. Was this all that comes with her powers, with her wolf awakening? She decided to focus on just one sound and then almost successfully the only sound she brought herself to hear now was the steady, rhythmic breathing of Dominic as he slept, his chest rising and falling in the peaceful rhythm of slumber. Fay lay awake beside him, staring up at the dark ceiling and at the sane time, trying to control the bubbling inside her veins. For wolves sake, she could even hear her blood surging in her human-wolf veins. Her mind was far from peaceful, troubled by thethoughts of the future and the power she was still learning to control. The faint hum of her own energy buzzed in the background, but it was the images of the Council, the threat
The room remained eerily still as the last echoes of Fay's explosive display faded into the air. The trainers, who had been silent witnesses to the unexpected eruption of power, began to stir, their murmurs low but filled with awe. "Good grief, she's becoming powerful" Someone whispered "More than Dominic? I don't think so." Someone whispered back."How in the name of the moon goddess did she do that?" Another asked."Is she really what they're all saying she is?"One by one, they filed out of the room, speaking in hushed tones to one another, clearly shaken by what they had just witnessed. The training hall, usually filled with the sounds of combat and training, now seemed haunted by the aftermath of the power that had surged from Fay.Fay stood in the center of the room, still reeling from the overwhelming wave of strength that had taken hold of her. Her breath came in quick, shallow gasps as she tried to steady herself. She could still feel the pulse of her wolfs energy thrummin
The sounds of the training room echoed through the mansion, a constant rhythm of grunts, footsteps, and the clash of limbs as the fighters trained relentlessly. Sweat dripped from their brows, muscles straining under the weight of their efforts. The trainers, sitting at the sidelines, observed with sharp eyes, making sure every move was executed perfectly, every strike counted. In the middle of it all stood Fay, her body poisedand alert, facing her opponent - Dominic. She had been training with him for weeks now, growing more powerful each day.Today, however, was different. Today, Dominic had decided to push her further, to challenge her in ways he hadn't before. He nodded to her challenger, telling him to take a break as he walked to Fay who was looking surprised as well as the other trainers.Fay gave him a questioning look and he only smiled, he could see the uncertainty in her eyes as he stepped forward , she stood doubting if it was possible to combat Dominic. She felt the ten
The quiet of the mansion settled over Dominic like a blanket, his mind wandering to the changes that had come into his life. His chest was bare, the smooth skin of his muscles stretching as he stood before the mirror. In the reflection, his inky ancient tattoos seemed darker, deeper, as if they too were growing with the awakening that had started within him. His mind was full of thoughts...thoughts about Fay, about her power, about the future that seemed so uncertain but still so full of promise. He was aware of the changes happening within her, but every time he looked at her, it felt as though the transformation was unfolding at a faster pace than even he had expected.Dominic's gaze was unfocused as he stared at himself, contemplating the mysteries that lay ahead, but the sound of the bathroom door creaking open pulled him from his thoughts. He glanced over, his heart skipping a beat when he saw Fay emerge from the bathroom, the dim light casting soft shadows across her silhouet
