Chapter Forty Four

Logan’s POV

I don’t know if I should thank Leah for the unwelcome interruption or not, but however, my heart cannot stop thumping over Alice’s statement. Now I don’t know if she is telling the truth or not. Gosh, I hate women sometimes! They are always doing the emotional blackmailing thing, and it really pisses me off. I stretched my legs on my sofa in my study and drank from my glass of Vodka. Leah entered without knocking.

“Hey brother,” she said and flopped on the sofa beside mine.

“We are still not friends, Leah,” I told her, although I know she can tell that I am not being serious. People who are quite close to me often say that it is only Leah that softens my hardened heart, but why wouldn’t she? Even though she gets on my last nerve all the time, I would lose my life in order to protect hers.

“Is that how you want to ask me about my trip?” she purred. “Oh, it was amazing! I did not want to return.”
