Chapter Forty Three

I arrived home in a taxi, because school had closed, and well, as expected, my driver was nowhere to be seen. I did not think of the consequences of my actions until I entered the living room and met Logan in a rage.

“Where the fuck have you been?!” Logan thundered. I know I have seen him pissed of a couple of times already, but to see and hear him sound this enraged really scared the living daylight out of me.

My driver stood meekly by the side, like a child who has been scolded severely for spilling a glass of milk at a coffee shop. I wanted to feel sorry for putting him in such a terrible condition, but then, he hasn’t been forthcoming at all.

“Alice, where the fuck have you been?” Logan repeated, his jaw moving in deep sated anger.

I moved two steps backwards, visibly afraid of what he could do to me. From the corner of my eyes, I saw the house cleaner and other staff peeping from their hiding place.
