Kory gulped, instantly turning her gaze away from the entrance.

“Why did you bring me here?” Her eyes hovered on Thane, who was slowly sipping on his drink.

He separated the cup from his mouth, “To see if you’re going to die.” He answered, resuming what he was doing by sipping gently on his cold portion of Spluch.

“To what now?” Kory was genuinely stunned by his response, either that was sarcastic or he meant it.

But she knows him, he’s not man who jokes with the sincerity of his words. He says what he says, and he meant whatever the words could mean.

“I’m not repeating myself.” He seared away from the drinking, letting her know before retreating back into what he was doing.
