“Did you get them?” I asked Laura as soon as she stepped out of the pharmacy.

She was visibly annoyed that I had already forced her hand more than once.

“Goddess, you sound like a crack addict,” she muttered while fumbling through her purse for the prescriptions.

“Fuck you,” I hissed as I snatched the bag from her and we headed toward the coffee shop next door.

“Seriously, Tara. You need to be careful. Those things are hard to come by for a reason,” she chided as a waitress brought our drinks.

“Laura, I don’t need this shit from you,” I replied, my temper rising quickly.

I tore the bag and ripped the seal that stood before my happiness. I gulped them down, ignoring the burning of the hot coffee as I surveyed our surroundings. Mason had started getting his guys to tail me, but he keeps forgetting that I was always a rebel growing up and could lose my father’s men in seconds.
