FAZER LOGINSOLANA'S POV
Five Years Later... "Mama! Faster!" A loud giggle echoed across the garden. I laughed breathlessly while chasing the little boy running ahead of me. "Mateo Sevilla! Sto running!!" pasigaw kong sambit. "No!" he shouted, laughing harder. "Come back here and eat your breakfast!" sigaw ko ulit pero natawa lang siya at mas lalong binilisan ang pagtakbo. I placed my hands on my hips. My four-year-old son looked over his shoulder and flashed me a mischievous grin that was entirely too handsome for someone his age. I'm beautiful when i smile...but he's on different level. "Mama can't catch me!" Mateo immediately burst into another fit of laughter. The little troublemaker. My father laughed. My mother nearly choked on her coffee. "Again?" "I'm not losing," asik ko. "You are, Mama..." Mateo corrected. I narrowed my eyes. "Betrayal. That's what this is." My son giggled and climbed onto my father's lap. Five years. Five whole years. And somehow my life had completely changed. Back then I thought discovering Aiden's betrayal had destroyed me. But if that heartbreak hadn't happened... I wouldn't have Mateo. The greatest blessing of my life. Even if he occasionally acted like a tiny menace. "Because he's cute," I said. "Really? My mother shrugged. "You have to find a husband, Solan--" "Dad?" "I'm staying out of this," dispensa ni Daddy dahil ayaw niyang madamay sa usapan. My mother placed her coffee cup down. "You're twenty-nine years old now. At sa susunod na taon at magiging trenta kana. "Successful." "Mom..." "And single." "There it is." She pointed dramatically at me. "You need a husband." Mateo suddenly raised his hand. "I can be Mama's husband." The entire table burst into laughter. I covered my face. "See? Problem solved." My mother rolled her eyes. "Not you." Mateo frowned. "Why?" "Because you're her son." "Oh." A pause. "Can I still have chicken nuggets?" "Yes." "Okay." Just like that, his heartbreak disappeared. I wished adult relationships worked that way. My mother turned back to me. "You need to start dating." "I don't have time." "You have plenty of time." "I have a son." "You also have a life." "I have a career--" "That's not an excuse for you not to find a husband," agad niyang sambit. I gasped dramatically. "Dad, are you hearing this?" "I've been married to her for thirty-three years. I learned long ago not to get involved," saad ni daddy kaya mas lalo akong walang magagawa sa usapan na ito. My mother sighed. "I'm not saying you should marry a singer because the last time you were in a relationship with a man like that...he cheated on you so better choose a good man," paalala niya sa akin. I leaned back in my chair. "I already have the two most important men in my life." My father smiled proudly. Mateo pointed at himself. "I'm important." "Very much...kahit na laging sumasakit ang ulo ko sayong bata ka," usal ko at ngumiti lang siya. At that exact moment, another voice interrupted us. "Well, technically there are three." I looked up. Vanessa was walking across the garden holding an iced coffee. Still my manager and a best friend. "What three?" I asked. She sat beside me. "Oh, I like this topic." Heto na nga. Ngayon dalawa na silang mangungulit sa sakin. "We're not discussing him." "Why not?" angal ni Vanessa. Vanessa took a sip of her coffee. "You know, normal people would've searched for him years ago. And normal people don't wake up alone inside a room after spending a night with some strangers and got pregnant," pang-aasar niya. My mother nodded thoughtfully. "Fair point." "Thank you, Tita." I dropped my head against the table. "Imagine if he's rich," my mom said. I slowly looked at her. "Ma..." "What?" "We're rich," paalala ko sa kanya kasi baka nakalimutan niya. "But we can get richer if that man is rich," pangatwiran niya na sinang-ayunan naman ng walanghiyang si Vanessa. My father is walking towards us and standing behind him was a tall and muscular man. Wearing a full black suit and has a cold eyes. "He's the man I'm telling you," panimula ni daddy. "His name is Kenjie Hanagata. You're new personal bodyguard," pagpapakilala sa kanya ni Daddy. Slowly, he stepped forward and extended his arm for a handshake. "At your service, Ms Sevilla..." usal niya. Ang tatay ng anak ko.KENJIE'S POV The moment I stepped inside the tactical command center... an unusual kind of silence greeted me. Some had their mouths hanging open. Others looked as though they had just seen a ghost. "What?" No one answered. Instead... Richard slowly walked around me, arms folded across his chest. Then, he stopped in front of me an eyed me from head to foot. "Hmm..." I sighed. "Can you stop doing that?" He scratched his chin dramatically. "So...the beard's really gone," halos hindi siya makapaniwala. "Wala na ang long hair...and finally our legendary Commander Hanagata finally looks human again." A few soldiers nearby immediately burst into laughter. I shot them a warning look. They instantly straightened their backs. "Sorry, Command
SOLANA'S POV Vanessa looked like she was about to ask another question. But then...her eyes suddenly shifted past my shoulder. And the playful grin on her face instantly disappeared. Her eyes widened ever so slightly before a strange, almost awkward smile slowly formed on her lips. "G-Good morning, Commander," she greeted politely. I frowned. Commander? Before I could turn around...A deep, baritone voice echoed behind me. "Good morning, Vanessa..." The rich aroma of freshly cooked breakfast filled the room as a tray of food was gently placed on the coffee table. The combat vest fit perfectly over his broad shoulders, while the radio clipped to his chest completed the commanding appearance that made him look ever
SOLANA'S POV "I'll send the revised schedule to your email later this afternoon." I nodded as I flipped through the folder Vanessa had brought. Since Dad had officially returned, I stopped being an acting CEO. Board meetings. Company reports. Financial briefings. All of those had disappeared from my daily routine. Luxury brand endorsements. Television guest appearances. A movie script reading. An overseas fashion campaign next month. It felt strange. "I almost forgot how busy your entertainment schedule used to be," I muttered. Natawa si Vanessa at napailing. "You were the one who insisted on taking over the company while your father recovered." "I didn't have much of a choice.
SOLANA'S POV The cool night breeze drifted through the waiting shed, carrying with it the faint scent of damp grass after the evening dew. I simply rested against Kenjie's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. It was the same heartbeat I had missed for almost two years. The same heartbeat that had lulled me to sleep countless nights before he disappeared. His arms remained wrapped securely around my waist, as though he feared that if he loosened his embrace even a little... I would disappear instead. I slowly lifted my head to look at him. His shorter hair suited him. Without the long beard, I could finally see every familiar line of his face again.
I left a mark in each corner of her body. I made sure that it's visible so that anyone who will look at her will see that she belongs to someone. "Loosen up, Solana. It's been two years so it'll be tight to enter again," Bahagyang gumalaw ang kanyang ulo. I chuckled before pressing my body on her bare back.
KENJIE'S POV The moment I felt her arms tighten around me... Everything else disappeared. And all I could feel... was her. I buried my face against her hair and closed my eyes. "I missed you," I whispered, my voice breaking. "I missed you every single day." She trembled in my embrace. "I h-hate you..." umiyak siya sa dibdib ko. "I hate you for leaving us." "I know." "I looked for you everywhere. And I even thought that you were dead already!" she yelled. Each word landed like a knife. "I'm sorry," I murmured again. "I know 'sorry' isn't enough." I slowly loosened my embrace just enough to look at her. My hands instinctively rose to her face. I gently cupped her cheeks. She had changed but she looked more mature now. And her eyes, they still held the same warmth that had once become my home. My thumbs brushed away the tears streaming down her cheeks. "I wanted to explain--" Hindi ko natapaos ang sasabihin ko nang walang pasabi niyang hinila ang aking d
