MasukSOLANA'S POV
"Solana, your call time was moved to eight-thirty.." saad ni Vanessa. "Okay." "And the director wants to review the revised script." "Hmmm," mahinang tugon ko. "There will also be an interview after the shoot." "Why do I feel like you're not listening?" I blinked. "I am listening, Vanessa." "Then what was the last thing I said?" "Something about an interview after the shoot?" patanong kong sagot dahilan upang lalong nagsalubong ang kilay niya. She groaned. "You're distracted." "How can i be distracted when i answered your question correctly?" sarkastikong balik ko sa kanya. Vanessa glared at me begore pointing her finger toward the black SUV parked outside of the cafe. "The reason is standing over there," aniya. My gaze immediately landed on the tall man standing beside the vehicle. Kenjie Hanagata. Black suit. Black tie. Cold face. Same expression he had been wearing for the last two days. I looked away first. I glared at her. She laughed. "Tsk..stop over thinking. I'm not interested in that man, Vanessa--" "I didn't say you are interested in him, Solana...." pagtatama niya at ng tingnan ko ang mukha niya ay mas lumaki ang kanyang ngisi. For the seven days, my brain had been in complete chaos. Not because Kenjie had done anything. Actually, that was the problem. He hadn't. Not once. --- *A few hours later...* I climbed into the backseat of the SUV. Kenjie was already behind the wheel. And when i already put the seatbelt...he started the car without saying anything. He didn't even apologize. Suddenly wanted to throw something at him. I'll be more careful next time.." tanging usal niya pero kahit katiting na sinseridad ay wala akong maramdaman. The vehicle pulled away from the mansion. The city passed outside my window. Cars. Buildings. People. Anything was more interesting than the questions currently attacking my brain. I glanced toward the rearview mirror. But I immediately found myself staring at him. His hands rested firmly on the steering wheel. Strong hands. The same hands that was moving too gentle that night. Why was I doing this? It's not like I had never seen an attractive man before. I worked in showbiz. I met handsome actors every week. But none of them looked like him. And none of them happened to be the father of my child. My chest tightened. "Do I have something on my face, Ms. Sevilla?" I nearly choked when i heard him spoke. My eyes widened when i glance at his way. Kenjie was still looking straight ahead. But there was the faintest hint of amusement in his voice. Oh God. He caught me. "I wasn't looking at you." "Of course why would a woman like you look at someone like me," sambit niya. And that tiny hint of amusement appeared again. I narrowed my eyes. Was he making fun of me? "You seem very confident." "I simply have functioning eyes," sarkastikong aniya. I clicked my tongue as a l looked at him with so much disbelief. "Do you find me attractive, Ms Sevilla?" That question came out unexpectedly. He looked so cold and intimidating so hearing him saying these words were very unexpectedly. "You could've just said it, Ms Sevilla. "We have to get back inside the car, Ms Sevilla. This place is dangerous for you," usal niya at paminsan-minsang tumitingin sa paligid habang paulit-ulit na umiigting ang kanyang panga. I didn't speak. And the moment his gaze dropped on me...it softened, especially when he noticed me staring at him. "Ms Sevilla--" "Hindi mo ba talaga ako natatandaan?" tanong ko. "Wala ka bang natatandaan? Like am i not familiar you? Kahit kaunting detalye wala kang matandaan tungkol sa 'kin?" sunod-sunod kong tanong at nanatili siyang tahimik. I bit my lower lip at the bitterness wrapped around me. "How about this..." wika ko na unti-unting ikinasalubong ng kanyang kilay. "Maybe this will help you remember..." Naaalala mo na ba ako?KENJIE'S POV The moment I stepped inside the tactical command center... an unusual kind of silence greeted me. Some had their mouths hanging open. Others looked as though they had just seen a ghost. "What?" No one answered. Instead... Richard slowly walked around me, arms folded across his chest. Then, he stopped in front of me an eyed me from head to foot. "Hmm..." I sighed. "Can you stop doing that?" He scratched his chin dramatically. "So...the beard's really gone," halos hindi siya makapaniwala. "Wala na ang long hair...and finally our legendary Commander Hanagata finally looks human again." A few soldiers nearby immediately burst into laughter. I shot them a warning look. They instantly straightened their backs. "Sorry, Command
SOLANA'S POV Vanessa looked like she was about to ask another question. But then...her eyes suddenly shifted past my shoulder. And the playful grin on her face instantly disappeared. Her eyes widened ever so slightly before a strange, almost awkward smile slowly formed on her lips. "G-Good morning, Commander," she greeted politely. I frowned. Commander? Before I could turn around...A deep, baritone voice echoed behind me. "Good morning, Vanessa..." The rich aroma of freshly cooked breakfast filled the room as a tray of food was gently placed on the coffee table. The combat vest fit perfectly over his broad shoulders, while the radio clipped to his chest completed the commanding appearance that made him look ever
SOLANA'S POV "I'll send the revised schedule to your email later this afternoon." I nodded as I flipped through the folder Vanessa had brought. Since Dad had officially returned, I stopped being an acting CEO. Board meetings. Company reports. Financial briefings. All of those had disappeared from my daily routine. Luxury brand endorsements. Television guest appearances. A movie script reading. An overseas fashion campaign next month. It felt strange. "I almost forgot how busy your entertainment schedule used to be," I muttered. Natawa si Vanessa at napailing. "You were the one who insisted on taking over the company while your father recovered." "I didn't have much of a choice.
SOLANA'S POV The cool night breeze drifted through the waiting shed, carrying with it the faint scent of damp grass after the evening dew. I simply rested against Kenjie's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. It was the same heartbeat I had missed for almost two years. The same heartbeat that had lulled me to sleep countless nights before he disappeared. His arms remained wrapped securely around my waist, as though he feared that if he loosened his embrace even a little... I would disappear instead. I slowly lifted my head to look at him. His shorter hair suited him. Without the long beard, I could finally see every familiar line of his face again.
I left a mark in each corner of her body. I made sure that it's visible so that anyone who will look at her will see that she belongs to someone. "Loosen up, Solana. It's been two years so it'll be tight to enter again," Bahagyang gumalaw ang kanyang ulo. I chuckled before pressing my body on her bare back.
KENJIE'S POV The moment I felt her arms tighten around me... Everything else disappeared. And all I could feel... was her. I buried my face against her hair and closed my eyes. "I missed you," I whispered, my voice breaking. "I missed you every single day." She trembled in my embrace. "I h-hate you..." umiyak siya sa dibdib ko. "I hate you for leaving us." "I know." "I looked for you everywhere. And I even thought that you were dead already!" she yelled. Each word landed like a knife. "I'm sorry," I murmured again. "I know 'sorry' isn't enough." I slowly loosened my embrace just enough to look at her. My hands instinctively rose to her face. I gently cupped her cheeks. She had changed but she looked more mature now. And her eyes, they still held the same warmth that had once become my home. My thumbs brushed away the tears streaming down her cheeks. "I wanted to explain--" Hindi ko natapaos ang sasabihin ko nang walang pasabi niyang hinila ang aking d
