My mate, Rex Thornfield, hails from a world of a higher plane. He tells me that the world I live in is a werewolf novel and that he's forbidden from falling for anyone in the novel world. But the thing is, he's fallen in love with me at first sight. As long as Rex is still in love with me, he will keep getting backlash from the world's rules. The punishment he's forced to suffer is the pain and agony that's equivalent to having his bones shattered repeatedly. Later on, I get abducted by the Hunter's Guild. There, I get imprisoned in a dark dungeon, where I keep getting tormented and beaten up by silver weapons. When I'm on the verge of dying, I use the secret method that Rex has taught me to get in contact with him. But that's when I accidentally overhear his conversation with his system. "Rex, how could you purposefully let the hunters abduct Selena? Don't you love her?" Rex's voice is as cold as steel. "The female supporting lead, Vera Linden, was supposed to be the one enduring this ordeal. I have no choice but to let Selena take her place in order to save Vera. "Besides, Selena is the female lead of this werewolf novel. She will be fine with the Moon Goddess watching over her. "Once Vera is safe and sound, I'll use my entire life to make it up to Selena and atone for my sins." My heart feels like it has gotten shattered into countless pieces.
