I had walked out of the meeting hall earlier, not because I was angry at Blue Eyes, but because I noticed I had become soft for a moment. I, Lorenzo, never went back on my words but I did earlier.

When I looked at Blue Eyes and saw how sad she was, something in me shifted.

I left my office through the secret route for urgent business. Mateo had called me earlier: the weapon supplier had run off with the money and wasn’t ready to deliver.

Mateo had already tracked down his location; he was heading toward the sea. I guessed he wanted to run unidentified, but he was still an amateur in the business. No one should play with the man named Lorenzo , he scammed the wrong man.

I entered my car and raced to my secret hideout. Only Mateo and I know this place. I got inside, and it was like a weapon gallery — different guns hung on the wall, with knives of different sizes and chains.
