LOGINAlina’s POV
The air rushed out of me in one big whoosh “You are hurting me.” It came out strangled as I tried to breathe. His hold only grew tighter. He let go of me, taking a step back “Sorry, I shouldn’t… I didn’t mean to do that…” I stood there frozen, my chest was heaving and sweat poured down my face. The whole scene was unreal. “I just want you back Alina, give me a chance” the man I once thought had known all my life said. He walked up to me again and pulled me into his arms. My body went rigid as he held me tightly, rocking me back and forth. “Please, come home with me.” “Step back.” I commanded through clenched teeth, pulling away from him. The look on his face when he backed off was enough for me to know that it wasn’t a good idea but I pushed that thought away and turned to leave. “It won’t happen again. We would never happen.” “Alina!” He called back with so much force and urgency that I stopped walking and looked at him over my shoulder. “There are still worse photos of you, you know. Photos that can ruin everything.” he finished. I felt something in my chest crack, something that I hadn’t felt since I was sixteen. “Are you threatening me?” I scoffed, turning around fully “Because I’m telling you right now that if that’s how you play, then we’re going to have nothing left. You don’t scare me anymore. I am done with you and what you’ve done.” I stepped forward, hiding the fear of his words in the depth of my heart . He didn’t seem to notice. That only made my resolve stronger to keep him far away from me. His voice dropped to a low whisper “Don’t say that. You know I don’t really mean that. I wouldn't even come down to that” But I could smell the lies in his words . It hung heavily on the air. The way his eyes scanned my face, the slight tilt of his head like he was searching for some sign that gave him hope, told me exactly how dishonest those words were. “Please don’t leave, baby. I need you.” He begged. “I’ll change” I began walking away , leaving him alone. Not once did I stop nor turn back until I was well out of sight. I had no more energy left, no more tears left. I got my things from the office and I drove off. Retiring for the day, more like running like a coward. That night I didn't tell Sebastian that it was Victor who had hurt me. I couldn't risk him releasing those photos to the media. But Sebastian knew anyway. He knew the exact moment I was lying. “Are you listening to anything I am saying? I think you need to take a break from everything.”My grandfather's voice was firm and serious. “I am fine grandfather, I can handle myself.” I answered automatically. There was no point trying to defend myself in his presence. He already knew the truth. “You are not fine, you are shaken, almost uncommitted. The family business won't survive if you keep going this way. ” He said with an edge to his tone, a tone I recognized from when I started living with him. It was the same tone whenever he was angry or concerned. It made me feel weak and exposed. I always felt as if he were watching me, judging me. Now I felt as small as I ever had before, as if my whole self, every fiber of my being was being stripped from me until there was nothing left. Nothing but shame and humiliation. I didn't want to be like this anymore. I hated feeling this. Hated feeling as fragile and vulnerable as glass. I wasn’t fragile, I wasn’t weak. This weakness belonged to version of me that stuck Victor. “I can fix it.” “You have been saying that for way too long, don't you think?” “Grandfather please, I...” I stammered. What could I possibly say to justify myself? How could I possibly convince him that this wasn't happening because I was uncommitted? “No,” he cut me off. “You are not going to try your sorry attempt to make excuses or try to convince me to let you remain CEO of the company. I won't allow it” I was shocked, I was taken aback by his response. “I'm not going to be responsible for my company falling apart because of this. I will find someone else to handle it for now while you sort yourself out.” he continued his voice softer now. A part of me wished I could reach out and grab his hand, pleading for him to believe me. For him to not send me away. But I didn't move, and the silence stretched between us. Eventually, I heard him clear his throat softly “I will call tomorrow to arrange a meeting between the two of us regarding your position in the company. Good night” “I met some group of people that would be interested in partnering with us. If I get them to partner with us, can I still remain CEO?” I asked unwilling to back down. Even the thought of giving up the company frightened me, even if it was for the best in the long run. For now, I needed security, stability. I wanted to believe that things would work out eventually. “No!” Vanessa , who was not even part of the meeting, snapped at me. I shrank a little into myself. “Grandfather has had enough of your nonsense” Vanessa added, her voice dripping with condescension and annoyance. She looked to Grandfather for support. I saw Grandfather's mouth twitch slightly in the corner. “I suppose if you can get them to partner with us I can allow it.” He conceded. I didn't listen to Vanessa’s endless tantrums. All I knew was that I was going to need Sebastian’s help convincing those French men.Alina’s POV“What if it was him?” that voice echoed in my mind, causing me to look up and look around me, I was alone and lost in my thoughts.I shivered involuntarily.I didn't understand where that question even came from. But the voices in my head were active. “Alina, are you even listening to me?” One snapped, pulling further into my thoughts.“Who?” I asked, confused. I knew who it asked for, and I knew what it was talking about but trust me when I say no one wanted their fears to be confirmed.“That’s what I was wondering” another sighed. “What if it was ” it repeated its question. I could imagine the voice as that of a lean woman, staring at me with crossed her arms and warm amber eyes piercing through the bottom of my soul and trying to figure me out but I looked away immediately. The hair in my arms stood involuntarily at the mention of his name, causing my whole body to tense up. I remembered the last time. I was giving him more power than necessary. He still managed to b
Sebastian’s POV “What is this madness?” One of the men yelled, he was staring at me with cold icy eyes, and his accent was heavy.“What does it look like? Be patient and watch.” I responded calmly, although I really wanted to tear them into pieces. When the video finished playing, they both turned to me, faces white as paper, their mouths agape. I could have sworn that their hearts skipped a few beats when the video played the first time. Then one of them looked at the other, he gave him a slight nod as if he had just completed some kind of mission. The one called Pierre cleared his voice. “What do you want?”he asked. He didn't seem so confident now. In fact he seemed downright scared. But what was there to be afraid of, he thought. I’m not going to kill you or anything, so calm down. Calm down.“Well, first of all, you need to answer a question for me” A smirk appeared on my face. The man looked surprised but nodded in agreement. “Did you really think you could get away with hara
Sebastian’s POV “The French men, they molested me” The words fell off her lips and I could feel the blood rushing to my face, though there was no emotion on her face. This was a mistake, I must have misheard. It couldnt be possible. All I saw was red. I was angry and sad and confused and scared. I couldn't remember why I had felt these things, but I remembered those words very cleary. Those words were engraved into my mind, they found a way to keep themselves in my memory. It played on a loop in my mind, the image of her lying broken and bleeding on the floor, the smell of her fear in my nostrils, her broken soul. It felt like I could remember her, more like sew every single detail, the sound of her screams, and every single word she screamed. The way her eyes were wide open and full of fear as she tried to call for me, I'd always hear it echoing in my mind. I could picture the men laughing while they tossed her back and forth, I could imagine them staring at her luscious body,
Alina’s POV My vision blurred when I woke up and blinked away the dark spots in front of my eyes, trying to understand where I was, what happened. My body felt tense like a rubber band pulled taut as it stretched from my shoulders to my knees, but when I tried to move any muscle in my body it just hurt. It was like there were wires connected to all my limbs, some in my back, others in my legs and feet. It made it hard for me to sit up, so I had to lean against the bed.“Relax…” I heard a familiar voice. “Just relax. You're fine.""Mister?" I croaked out, my voice sounding raw even to my own ears. He laughed.“From Sebastian to Mister, but I will take it” he said. His voice sounded distant, like I was listening through a tunnel. “You're safe here, we're going to get you out of that position in a few minutes, just let your muscles uncoil." His warm hand rested lightly on my shoulder. “I feel trapped.”"It's okay...you're not trapped." I could hear the smile in his voice. “You ju
Sebastian’s POVShe looked so frail as she laid there in the hospital bed, her head was wrapped up in bandages and her face pale and sickly looking from her blood loss. After she stormed off at the park, I didn't go after her. I didn't expect her to go far either but soon time passed and there was no sign of Alina. So I assumed she had gone home but when I got home, she wasn't back. She didn't answer any of my calls or texts. Eventually she returned, her shoulders hung lowly in defeat but still she stood tall with a defiant tilt to her chin and a determined set to her eyes. I could still tell something wasnt right from the way her body stiffened and her gaze avoided mine. “Where have you been?” She shrugged noncommittally. “Around.” Her voice sounded like it belonged to someone else. It was quiet and flat and hollow. But the more her expression changed, the more I realized how much I hated that look on her. It only lasted a second before her facade slipped and tears fell
Alina’s POV I didn't tell Sebastian anything when I got home. There was nothing to tell. I maintained a distance as much as I could, not responding when he spoke to me. I couldn't let him know what had happened. That would only mean more chaos. I was tired of the chaos it had managed to become a part of my everyday life.I was going to see the French men by myself the next day, I would make it work, with or without his help.“What are you offering?”“A partnership with my company is going to be a big step for us. It would give a fusion both to French and American culture , it gives people the same experience. My team will be in charge of developing the products and marketing your own, it is going to bring us together.” I smiled at the men in front of me . They looked like business tycoons but their demeanor was different - they weren't arrogant or condescending. In fact, they seemed eager to have a collaboration between companies. A few seconds of silence passed between them, as if
AlinaThe pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you lis
Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper

Alina POV"Oh God," I let out a moan I didn't feel as the man began to kiss a line down my throat, hands roaming all over my body. The man mouthed at my exposed cleavage, making a sound of pleasure low in his throat, "God, baby. You taste so good." Of course I did, I had spent over three hours so
