Chapter Ten: Killian

“You okay?” Markus asked as we were driving home the next day.

“Yeah man, why?” I ask.

“I’ve never seen you stay under the same roof as a woman, save for your sister,” He shivers, he felt the same as I about Sarai, “and not act on it.”

“She’s different,” I answer.

“Good different, or bad different?” Markus looks at my raising an eyebrow.

“I don’t know man, different.” I laugh.

“Ah, good different. I don’t judge, she’s interesting for sure.” Markus says.

“So, you think it was Grunt that slashed your tires?” I ask changing the subject.

“Yeah, I think it was that bitch, but nice try in changing the subject.” Markus laughed.

“What? I was talking about your car.” I laugh.

When we got to the house Amber was waiting, very upset.

“What Amber?” I ask getting out of the car, and walking towards her. “What’s wrong?”

“I heard through the grapevine that you stayed at the abomination’s place last night. Did you have fun?” She answered standing, crossing her arms.
