LOGIN"Listen, I'm tired of this marriage. We only got married because I needed a wife to secure my CEO position, and now that it's settled, you're not useful to me anymore." My husband, Dale, said to my face, nothing close to guilt flashing in his expression. And that was when I knew... I really was nothing to him. With tears in my eyes, I signed the divorce papers and left. Left his house. Left his family. Left his life. But not without a promise to myself. A promise that no matter what, I would come back. I would come back stronger. The nobody they see me as, will come back as somebody. Somebody they'd all need. ....... Chloe Dave thought life loved her when she got married to Dale Beldson, the hottest man on earth and her long crush. That was proven wrong, when what was supposed to be a happy marriage, turned to a depressing one, with a husband that rarely acknowledged her existence. Still, she held on to the hope that if he'd chosen to marry her, there'd be something in there. Some emotions in there. That died the moment his bestfriend, Nora framed her for laundry and attempted murder, and he chose to believe Nora over her. Even after all her pleas, he still refused to give heed to her. He saw her as a nobody. His family saw her as one. That was when Chloe vowed to come back and shock the world. Shock Dale Beldson, her ex-husband.

My husband didn't love me. He didn't hate me either. What he felt for me was worse… nothing. A nothingness I'd gotten used to. One I'd decided to adapt with. Until the night that changed it all. And it started when the car came to a halt. A guard moved to open my husband, Dale Beldson’s side of the car, and I watched him emerge, revealing that full six foot four figure I'd fallen for. What everyone had fallen for. It was kind of hard to not drool over such a well built man. He was the nation's most handsome man after all, physically built to perfection. Shoulders and chest carved like crystals. Blue eyes that shone brighter than ever, then with his dark blonde hair combed and sleeked marvelously, he defined hot. ‘Hot’ that I fell in love with. Love that began the moment I got to high school at fifteen, him being a senior in his final year. Five years passed, and I couldn't stop gawking every time I got to see him. So you must imagine how blissed out I'd have been when he approached me on my twentieth birthday, asking to marry him because he needed a wife to secure his CEO position. Then, it had seemed perfect, but now… after two years in, with us barely speaking to each other and sex that felt like an emotionless ritual, I could say my fantasy was dying. Still, I held onto the hope that if out of all the females that had a crush on him, he chose me, then there would still be something in there. Some feelings he had for me, hidden somewhere, deep down. And every day, he hadn't proven me right nor wrong. He barely spoke to me on a daily basis. But today, something felt off. I got out of the car, trying to study him. His jaw was too tight, shoulders squared more than it normally would, eyes cold and distant. He even had a frown on. Normally, I was used to him being cold (because, what billionaire isn't), but that afternoon, it was different. “Is everything alright?” I had to ask once I was beside him. Only to be greeted with a deeper frown, before he started towards the mansion. What was wrong with him? Still, I didn't bother re-asking. Instead, just rushed to catch up with him for the family dinner. His family I hated totally. They were like thorns in my paths. Most of them disliked me, and they were sure to not hide it. All because of one person. One annoying person. “Dale!” That annoyingly sweet voice greeted the second we were in, her five foot six figure rushing to throw her arms around his neck. And Dale, even more annoyingly, allowed her, returning the supposed hug. His shoulders even as much as relaxed a little. Seriously? “You're here early.” He said in that deep tone of his that I still loved. Even when he was here, lovingly hugging someone who was meant to be ‘just friend’. “Hmm. I wanted to see Amber.” She pulled away, then turned to me, her smile growing. “Chloe, you look nice.” I had to draw in a breath of patience. “Thanks Nora.” Nora Clint was probably the synonym of a nightmare. If frustrating was a person, then it'd be her. She was very great at masking her love for Dale in front of him, but when it came to me, she was very blunt with her insults. But I could barely do anything, because apart from being a millionaire's daughter and the sister to my elder sister's boyfriend, she was also Dale's childhood friend and his family's perfect choice for him. All in all, she was favored every time. My name on her mouth brought Dale's frown once again. “Come on, let's get going.” Without glancing at me, he just began strutting off. “Dal—” I was going to once again try to catch up, when Nora snatched my hand, halting me, the smile and pretend-friend phase dropping faster than ever. “I don't see why you still attend these dinners when it's obvious you're not invited.” She sneered. “Even Dale doesn't want you here.” “That's not true.” I yanked my hand free, glaring at her. “He's just in a bad mood. Probably because of work,” it didn't have to be because of me, right? She burst out laughing like that was the most ridiculous thing ever. “Whatever you want to think,” then she stepped forward, “but you should know also that today will mark your last day in this house.” Her smile was back, while I stood confused. “Alright then Chloe, see you later.” She then walked away. As I moved to the dining hall, I found myself fidgeting with my dress. What had she meant by today was my last day? What was she planning? It probably shouldn't have bothered me knowing how Nora was, but it did, because I had a feeling, she just might be right. Especially as I entered the hall to find Dale whispering to his father, but the moment I stepped in, they paused and Dale's cold stare landed on me. I couldn't shake off the feeling that his bad mood wasn't about work… but about me.THREE YEARS LATER.I finished knotting Dale’s tie that early June, then leaned close for a peck. “You did it, baby. I’m so proud of you for not giving up during the hard times.” There was a genuine smile on his face as he kissed me. “Thank you also, for keeping me motivated every time I thought about giving up.”I just patted his arm, then left to the mirror where I checked to see if the makeup was still perfect and my hair hadn’t loosened out of the bun, though that was unlikely considering the fact it was done by one of the best hairstylists and makeup artists in the US.“You look beautiful. Trust me.” Dale moved over, arms wrapping around my waist as he pulled me close. “I don’t think I can ever be more glad to celebrate this with you.”“Thanks.” With one final kiss, we both left the room, then the house to his car already parked out front.A guard opened the door with a bow, then shut it once we were in.Then, the driver started it, and with a roar, it came to life. Soon, we were
“Can we go in?” Tina asked, hurriedly moving to stand in front of the doctor. He nodded. “Yes, but I’ll advise you to lower your voice. He’s just a newborn who could get sensitive to noise.” That was all he said, before he offered a bow, then walked out, followed by a few nurses who left the room after him.Dale was the first to head in, before we all tagged behind him.And there she laid. On the bed was an extremely tired looking Sophie clad in a hospital dress (I wondered how they managed to get her in those) with the cap that covered every single hair of hers, and only exposing the weariness in her expression. She looked like all she’d want is a long sleep. But even with it all, there was a tired smile on her lips and a sleeping newborn on her chest. The boy had full red hair, totally surprising me.“Oh my gosh.” Tina was the first to speak, her voice hushed as she headed over, crouching beside the bed so she was at face level with him. “Is this really my nephew? My goodness, he
I was admiring the heart shaped diamond Dale got for me when a loud scream startled a flinch from me.No, it was so loud, I could be certain it drew the attention of everyone. My brows furrowed, confused on what was happening, and the next thing I knew, Dale was no longer in front of me.I noticed him rush over to grab Sophie before she fell. The sight made my heart jump, and I quickly headed over, just as many others did the same.Sophie was pale, gasping for air, when I heard her breathe out, “i-I think my water broke.”That alone was enough to get the crowd in a full panic mode.Heck, I found my body rummaging for what to do.It didn't matter that I could barely be of help, but nervousness crawled up my entirety as I stared at her tremble.“What’s going on?” Amber asked, just as she and Finn appeared beside me.“I think she’s in labor.” What was the use of using ‘think', when it was so damn obvious she was about to give birth.“What?” Amber quickly rushed to grab her daughter’s arm
~ Sophie ~I woke up with the usual ache in my stomach. That had been happening a lot recently, and I just blamed it on being thirty three weeks pregnant. It was valentine's day, and I could hear the celebration already beginning downstairs. This was my first valentine since John's death, and a dampening fell on my mood that morning as I left to take a shower.I still missed him more than ever, but since I began therapy it had gotten a lot better. The therapist was really great, and she had perfect listening ears, always letting me cry when I needed to.Also, she always had the perfect words to say. Like, literally. And knowing that she was under an oath to not tell anyone anything made saying personal things… easier. So far, I figured I was healing.I still had nights where I'd cry myself to sleep, but my room was no longer a mess, which was pretty great. After brushing my teeth and taking a bath, I got out, then dressed in the day's theme.A red fitted gown with a white belt just ab
“That has to be one of the dumbest thing you've done Chloe.” Emery shook her head. “You really don't learn your lesson, do you?” At that point, I couldn't even say anything, because geez, I hadn't felt dumber. But of course, my pride was still in existence, because I rose to my feet, shoulders st
“How long have you been here?” Those were the first words that left my mouth, brows dipped the deepest. He strode over, stopping right in front of me with a face devoid of expression. “Long enough to know you and Cole aren't a thing.”I had to suck in a breath to prevent cussing, because seriously?
I stared at him for a moment before stepping back slightly, my heart beating way too fast for its own good.“What frame are you talking about?” The words left lower than intended, but I managed to cover any hint of gruffness from my nervousness in them.“One of your mom, as I said.” He simply repli
~ Sam Clint ~I was taking a bite of my burger in hand when a very worried Nora rushed to me, looking undoubtedly nice in her engagement dress.“Where's Dale?” She asked, not bothering to keep her voice low even though we were in the hall, the guests gathered everywhere that could very much get in
