Emma POV Emma could feel Logan trying to push through her mind block, but she kept him out. She blocked him through the bond as well. She couldn’t let him get through to her, she knew he was going to come after her, to try and find her, but she couldn’t let him. She had to do this alone, she didn’t know why, she just knew she had to. She could smell them around her, behind her. She could hear them following her. She hit the river and dived under and let the current take her downstream. When she couldn’t hold her breath anymore, she surfaced. She couldn’t smell them anymore. She climbed out of the river on the other side and took off. She had enough confidence in herself that they wouldn’t be able to catch her. She hit the clearing and kept running, hoping to get to the other side without them seeing her. In the middle of the clearing, she stopped in her tracks. She didn’t smell them until it was too late. They had her surrounded. In that moment she realized that they hadn’t been ch
Emma POV She slammed the door as she stormed out of Logan’s office. She refused to hear any more of Logan’s lecturing. She was tired and all she wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. She closed the bathroom door and turned on the water to as hot as she could stand it. Once the steam had clouded the bathroom, she climbed inside and let the water run over her body, the hot water relaxing her muscles. She sat down and pulled her knees to her chest, watching the water running off her go from red to clear as all the blood washed off. She didn’t know how long she sat there, but when the water turned cold, she finally stood up and turned off the water. She grabbed the towel and dried off before hanging it back up. She picked her clothes up off the floor and put them in the laundry basket. She walked out of the bathroom and into the closet and got some pajamas and put them on. Walking out of the closet, she noticed the tray of food sitting on the table. Grateful that she didn’t hav
Emma POV It was finally time for the next blue moon ceremony where she would ask the Moon Goddess to let Dylan be the Alpha of the Shadow Moon pack. So much had been planned for today, it was going to be just a big party. One that she really wasn’t in the mood for. She had been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days, she had been nauseous and tired all the time. She had gone to the doctor this morning and they took some blood to run tests. The doctor said that he should have the results by the end of the day. Logan had bought her dresses to wear for each ceremony, but she just wasn’t up to getting dressed up. She decided she would just wear regular clothes, something she would be comfortable in. She just didn’t have the energy to care about it. She was sure that the Moon Goddess wouldn’t care what she was wearing tonight. She was nervous about having the whole pack in one place tonight. If someone was going to attack, tonight would be the perfect opportunity. She wante
Emma POVThe phone hit the floor as it slipped out of her hand. No. She thought. Not yet.She had been finally sleeping peacefully when the phone ringing woke her up. It was the nurse from the doctor’s office letting her know the results from
Emma POV They stood under the moonlight, surrounded by their family, waiting for the blue moon to reach its highest peak. Once it did, she would make her plea to the Moon Goddess. It was more important now than ever for this to work. She needed the Moon Goddess to let Dylan have her Alpha. They were supposed to shift after they prayed, but now that she is pregnant, it wouldn’t be safe for her to shift. They would stay in their human form for the entire ceremony, and she hoped that it would be enough. It was almost time, just a few more minutes. She could feel the energy from the moon, she couldn’t explain how, but she felt it. Emma took Dylan’s hands in hers and they looked up at the moon. It was time. Moon Goddess, hear our prayer. Please let Dylan have my Alpha so he can be the Alpha of Shadow Moon so I can be Luna of Silver Stone. You mated me with Logan for a reason, but I cannot be Alpha of Shadow Moon and Luna of Silver Stone. And now we are going to have a baby, so pleas
Logan POV He stood there, looking at the body of the prisoner, lying in a pool of his own blood. He didn’t understand why this wolf would take his own life. The guards told him that the guy had clawed his own throat out and by the time they had gotten into the cell, it was too late, he was already losing too much blood. “Alpha, what do you want us to do with the body?” one of the guards asked. “What for nightfall and take it in the woods and burn it.” Logan answered. “Yes Alpha.” the guard replied. “Make sure nobody sees you. We need to keep this quiet.” Logan told the guard before turning and walking out of the basement. The next few hours weren’t going to be pleasant. If Emma was right, and this wolf was indeed a Beta or a Gamma, then his Alpha will be looking for him. He needed to call the other packs and tell them what has happened. He also needed to call Alpha Lucian. These were not conversations that he was looking forward to. The calls to Blood River, Red Moon, and
Emma POV The visit with Morgan resulted in many tears being shed. As soon as the cry fest started, as Nathan called it, he disappeared. When he finally got brave enough to come back and face two severely hormonal pregnant women, he brought ice cream. They sat there eating ice cream and talked. She forgot how good it felt to hang out with Morgan and just talk. She wasn’t ready to go home yet, she didn’t want to hear the bad news that Logan was going to tell her. Part of her just wanted to tell him not to tell her, but she knew that whatever it was, no matter how bad, it was important enough Logan thought she needed to know. “Emma, are you ready to go?” Nathan asked. “Do I have to?” Emma asked. Nathan laughed. “Yeah, they will be here soon.” They said their goodbyes and Nathan walked her home. She sat on the end of the bed and listened to Logan tell her everything he and Alpha Lucian had talked about. She was stunned. She was having a hard time wrapping her mind around this
Emma POV They all spent the next few months training and doing everything they could to prepare for the war they knew was coming. Diane had been right about feeling better once she got into her second trimester. Nineteen weeks pregnant, she was almost halfway through her pregnancy. No more nausea and the past few weeks she actually had a surge of energy. She even enjoyed the Luna ceremony. Diane was true to her word, she didn’t have to do anything except show up. She had worn the dress that Logan had gotten for her, although they had to get it let out some to accommodate for her growing baby bump. She had loved the color of it. It was pale purple and was made of satin. It felt so soft against her skin. She was surprised at how much fun she had. She didn’t even mind everyone wanting to touch her stomach. It made her happy to see everyone so happy for her and Logan. Every one of these people was now officially her responsibility, she was officially their Luna, and she would be damned
