Damien’s fingers curled around his phone as his jaw tightened. It never occurred to him that Makiam would stoop so low as to kidnap his niece just to get to him. He did not want to see Yelena, but he still owed her his loyalty. She had betrayed her uncle just to be with him. Now was the time she needed him most.

“Check if I have fresh clothes I can wear here. If not, get someone to bring some over,” he ordered Thorne, who bowed and scurried toward the other side of Lila’s room.

Just then, Lila came out and saw the dangerous look in his eyes. She instantly knew this was not about her but something else. She gulped silently and made to turn when Damien called her back.

“Come here,”

Lila turned back and saw him approaching. The dangerous look on his face had vanished as if it had never been there.

“I’m going out,” he said, staring down at her. She held his gaze, waiting for him to continue.

“I may not be back today, or tomorrow, or the day after,” he added, his eyes drifting into the dis

  • His Little Temptress    The Missing Girl and the Song

Graves parked the car with a rough stop, not even bothering to kill the engine before he stepped out to join the men gathered nearby. It was already evening, night pressing in too quickly and still he hadn’t found Lila. He had searched the school from end to end, combed every corridor and corner, yet there had been no sign of her.“How exactly did it happen? How did you miss her?” Thorne demanded as Graves approached, his face etched with exhaustion and defeat.“I don’t know,” Graves admitted hoarsely, dragging a hand down his face. “I was in the car like always, waiting for her lesson to finish. I waited forty-five minutes, maybe more. Almost every student had left, but she never came out. That’s when I started looking for her. I asked a few kids I saw around, but none of them had seen her either.”“Then you should have asked a teacher, you fool!” Rex snapped, his voice sharp with anger.“I didn’t know how to do that. How was I supposed to explain who I was to her?” Graves muttered,

  • His Little Temptress    Over the Gate

The yacht came ashore at dawn, the wood of the dock creaking as the ropes pulled tight. A faint fog drifted over the water, the air sharp with salt and oil. On the dock, Makiam’s guards stood waiting in silence, their guns ready and their dark shapes barely churning in the early light.Damien stepped down first, his blazer shifting with the morning breeze, his pace steady and unhurried. He didn’t look at the guards, didn’t look at Makiam, not even at Yelena trailing behind him with wet hair clinging to her face. His eyes were fixed forward, as if this ground already belonged to him because it did.“Feels good to stand here again. You’ve been keeping my corridor warm for me, Wolfe.” Makiam said as he followed behind Damien with a proud smile. But Damien kept mute and the silence pressed heavier with every step, broken only by the groan of the ship settling against the dockyard. Then the quiet split as gunfire cracked across the dock. Damien’s men burst from the shadows of the landin

  • His Little Temptress    Waiting for His Reply

Damien’s jaw clenched as he hung up the call abruptly and put the phone away. He stared at the ocean with a furious gaze, his jaw still twitching. How could she just call him uncle so naturally after everything they had shared? Or did she not see it as anything special at all?At the thought, he stood straight and his eyes narrowed. Was he the only one attaching so much meaning to it while she didn’t care in the least? But he did care and that was why he had been caught up with her, his mind always reminding him he was doomed. And if caring meant anything, then hanging up just now had been the opposite. It was time he learned to control his temper. As he thought in his mind, his finger hovered over the screen while he contemplated whether to call or text her back.“Betrayed my uncle for you and now you’re ready to hand the deal back to him?” Yelena’s mocking laugh cut through the air as she moved to his side.Damien didn’t so much as glance at her. His gaze stayed fixed on the distanc

  • His Little Temptress    Never Call Me That

As soon as Damien’s car rolled to a stop in the yard, five guards flooded his car with their guns and Damien just smiled before he grabbed his blazer from the passenger’s seat and stepped out.The guards looked determined as they pointed their weapons at him, but when he suddenly lifted his blazer to slip it on, they flinched and stepped back. However, their fear faded to confusion when they realized he was only wearing the jacket and they moved in again, their guns steady.“Are you leading me in or plan to stand there forever?” he asked in his usual cold manner, his voice laced with authority and his presence pressing down heavier than their guns. The men exchanged quick glances, none of them daring to speak. At last, two moved ahead to lead the way while the others fell behind him, still aiming their weapons at his back. The old house stood in the distance, its walls stained and shattered by years of neglect. Its windows were black holes like empty eyes watching his every step. Eve

  • His Little Temptress    The Enemy’s Voice

He stopped at the foot of the stairs, pulling off his fedora with deliberate calm. His gray-threaded beard caught the light, and the cold curve of his mouth made Yelena’s stomach drop.“Uncle…” she whispered, her voice breaking. “Why would you do this? I’m your blood!”“Blood?” His laugh was sharp and humorless. “You bled me first, Yelena. Do you think I forgot? That deal should have been mine, but you handed it to Wolfe.” His eyes were razor-sharp as he stepped closer.Yelena’s breath hitched. The memory of that night slammed back; her choice, her gamble. Her pulse thudded in her ears as she lifted her chin, forcing herself to meet his stare.“I did what I had to, Uncle Makaim,” she whispered, her voice trembling despite her defiance.“Shut the fuck up, Yelena!” His eyes burned with a fury she had never seen before. “You chose Wolfe over me, and now you’ll pay the price. Not with money, and certainly not with your tears.”Makaim leaned close, his shadow swallowing her. “You will give
