His Menace Alpha
His Menace Alpha
Author: Grace Vine

1.

Sophia pov.

I watch Alex smile at Mira...genuinely smile. He whispers something in her ear and the both of them laugh.

He never looks at me that way. He even called me sister.

He gently takes one baby from her, letting her hold the other. He rocks her gently as If she'd break if he added any more effort.

I want to hate Mira, I really do. But I can't. After everything, Alex asked for my head, and he was going to have it, but Mira stepped in a pleaded, for a lesser sentence.

Alex decides that rejecting and banishing me would be the best.

Mira did infact, invite me to the ceremony, but I can't show my face in front of all these people, who know what I did. It would be too shameful.

Alex never saw me as anything more than a sister. One time, I even tried to seduce him and he avoided me for the next two weeks..

I thought that maybe, one day, he'd eventually give in and marry me. I'm the only woman that was ever at his side. I was there for him through his darkest times.

Here he is, married and a father of two.

It does hurt...so much. The man I waited for, lefty pack for, gave up other suitors for, left me in the twinkle of an eye.

Everyone in the village looks truly happy without my presence.

I can't even go back to my pack. I can't look them in the face after they warned me about Alex.

I turn my back to leave, when a sudden tingling sensation in my lower stomach makes me halt.

It becomes stronger and I know what this means.

I just didn't like it.

My mate was here...in this clan.

This doesn't make sense. I just got heartbroken by their Alpha...now one of his subjects wants to do same.

Even if he really is my mate, I would never give another man a chance.

All men are the same. Ungrateful, thoughtless fools.

I began running into the woods as fast as I can, changing into my wolf for extra speed, because the sensation was getting stronger, meaning my mate was too close.

I had to get as far away from this pack as possible and never return.

I keep running and soon enough, I can the hear footsteps, of a man, running after me.

I quicken up my pace because I can smell him and I know he's a wolf.. well, half wolf actually. I can also smell the human in him.

I get to the river dividing The Blood Moon pack, which was Alex's, and The White Wolf Pack, which was mine.

I change back into my human form, knowing full well, that the water would cover my scent. Taking a deep breath, I dive In.

Soon enough, he comes by in his wolf form. I can see him above the water in the moonlight. He is a grey wolf.

Grey wolves are known to be really big, but not bigger than White Wolves. They're stronger through, because they have mixed genes.

He cant see me, though and so he just turns around and leaves.

I emerge from the water and sit at the edge. I can't keep walking around. Soon enough, packs would think I'm a rogue and I know what they do to rogues.

I have to go back to my people. Even if it means serving some kind of punishment, I would do it. Just so they accept me back.

I stand up, opening my bag and take some new clothes out. Even though they were wet, I still can't appear naked in front of my clan.

I think of what I'll say to them as I walk into the village.

My father is going to be so disappointed. It's been a while I saw him. I remember him pleading with me not to leave home.

I make it into the village and the coastal guards stop me..

“Who are you? What business do you have here?" They shout and point their guns filled with wolfsbane at me.

I raise my hands in surrender and declare,

“Sophia...Sophia White."

“Its the Alpha's daughter. Let her through.!"

I walk into the village. Even though it's dark, I can still see. Perks of being a White Wolf.

When I get to my father's house, I stand outside the door.

Not knowing how to knock or say a word, I just stand there.

Someone comes to open the door and it's my uncle.

“Sophia? Is it really you?"

“Hey Uncle Tim. It's me."

“Come in, my lovely girl." He ushers me into the house and it's really warm inside.

I see other relatives sitting there and I'm confused. If there is anything I know and am sure of, it's that may father likes the house being quiet at night, because that's when he works.

My Aunt Kathy and her husband, Uncle Fred all walked up to me and hugged me. My cousins, Seth, Sam and Sunny, just stood in one spot looking at me.

I understood how they felt. It wasn't easy seeing your sibling after such a long time.

Sunny, took the lead and ran to me, pulling me in for a hug, and Sam gathered round.

“I missed you. We missed you." Sam finally said to me.

When they released me, I looked at Seth, thinking he would give in and come to hug me. But he just walked past me.

“Give him some time." Sam said, placing a hand on my shoulder.

“What's going on? Why's everyone gathered here?" I ask.

“Oh.... That. It's nothing actually. We just finished a family dinner, so everyone was just sitting around." Sunny explains.

“Sunny, I can cut the tension in this room, with a knife. Look at your mum. You know she's always.... and I mean always smiling. She hasn't smiled since i walked into the room."

I'm not stupid, I know when something is wrong.

“Can someone tell me what's going on?" I demand.

“Its nothing, Sophia. We were just hanging around for a while longer after the dinner Sunny told you about.

“Then why the sour faces and hushed talks... Speaking of, where's my dad?"

I turned to Sunny and Sam,

“Where's my dad?"

“Soph... Just calm down"

“Can someone tell me what's goin on?!"

“A few days ago, your dad went into the fields for a run. Moments later, we heard a howl. We ran to him, only to find him on the floor, shit several times with wolfsbane. By the time we got to the house and called the doctor, the poison had already got to his heart."

“Your dad is really sick, Soph.

Sam holds Sunny's shoulder as he finishes talking.

“This... this is all my fault. If I was here-"

“No, Sophia, don't blame yourself. You couldn't have known. None of your parents blame you for this. Even your cousins who were here, couldn't do anything. Not to talk of you, who wasn't here." Aunt Kathy says, drying her eyes.

“Its all my fault."

I feel really horrible. I fall to the floor in tears.

Aunt Kathy comes behind me and picks me up from the floor, patting my hair down and wiping my tears.

“Alphas don't cry. Alphas never cry." She whispered.

I was so caught up in my pain, I didn't give into what she was saying.

“ Can I see him?" I ask as soon as we get back to the sitting room.

“You've already had too much shock for one night. You can see him in the morning. For now, you need to change your clothes, eat and rest. You're shaking like a leaf. Why're you wet?" Uncle Tim says.

“I'm not hungry. I don't think I can eat right now. I'll just throw it right back up."

“Its fine. You should change into warm clothes and get some rest. We'll finish this up later tomorrow. Sunny, help your sister to her room." Uncle Tim instructs.

Sunny carries my bag and holds my hand, taking me to my room. He places my bag on a chair in the other side of them room and comes to sit beside me on the bed.

“I know this is too much to take, but you have to be strong for what lies ahead. If you think this is too much, how are you going to lead us? C'mon, we all miss mum, but there's nothing we can do to bring her back. The only thing we can do now is to stand strong and make sure everything is under control."

Sunny had always been the wiser one in the family, despite being the youngest. He always knew the most comforting words to say

“Thank you, Sunny." I say and hug my cousin.

“Its fine. I'll always be here for you, Soph. Now change and get some sleep. It's going to be a rocky ride."

He leaves me, making me think about what he said. I just realized he said something about me leading. And then, I also remember Aunt Kathy's words.

“Alphas don't cry. Alphas never cry."

I didn't want to think too much about it, as I was already having a headache. I decide to deal with all that, tomorrow.

I changed my clothes as it was already too cold for me to shower again. I'll shower in the morning.

I laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

I remember how my dad had been there for my when I had a particular dream I thought was a nightmare.

“I was in a field in my human form, sitting on top a rock, playing with some flowers that surrounded it. I mistakenly cut my finger on one of the thorns on the rose's stem

Suddenly, I could hear a sound amd I saw a large number of white wolves, running up to me at full speed.

As soon as they got close to me, they stopped and one after the other, began bowing... bowing to me.

I wasn't afraid. Instead, I stood up on the rock, proud and tall."

When I woke up, I told my dad, who just smiled and patted my hair,

“My little Alpha. I know you'll make me proud."

I didn't even know when I fell asleep.
