Don't Talk to Me

Time wouldn’t move fast enough, if I had anywhere else to go I would have left my apartment. I knew I could always go to my parents but I just couldn’t, I wasn’t ready. They would have questions, they would want answers and I couldn’t give them anything. And what about Cody? He would only remind me about how stupid I had been as if he was innocent in all of this.

It was two before I heard the knock at my door. I didn’t bother getting up, I knew it was Lucas and I knew he could let himself in. I remained sitting on the couch staring out the windows at the city in front of me. Lucas was quiet as he walked in. I refused to look at him as he sat down in the chair that sat close to me. From my peripheral vision, I could see him put his head in his hands as he leaned down resting his elbows on his knees.
