ANMELDENMEGAN’S POV
My eyebrows furrowed in shock as Austin held my wrist tight, staring coldly and possessively at me, not minding the whispers from the guests and that all eyes were on us. Everyone was stunned, but that was the least Austin cared about. He held me so tight, like I would flee if he released me. “Six years I’ve been looking for you, and you’ve been here playing Luna with someone else.” His voice was tight with anger, and his eyes were fixed with an unblinking stare. I could see envy in them, and I wondered why. My gaze went straight to his beloved ‘Kayla,’ who stood behind him, her eyes burned into me, intense and filled with hatred. Then, I let out a low scoff and uttered with an unshaken voice. “We’re divorced, remember? Why would Alpha Austin waste his time chasing after someone who didn’t even matter?” I snorted. He opened his mouth to speak, but not a word came out of it. What can he say anyway? I endured so much humiliation, and I gave so much to be with him, but what did I get? Rejection. I was expected to watch my husband in the arms of his ‘first love’ with a smile on my face after giving up everything for him. “Let go of me.” I spoke in between gritted teeth, but he wasn’t going to let me go. His grip tightened. Hence, Alpha Lucien grabbed his wrist and pushed him off forcefully while turning his gaze at me, tenderly. Then, Kayla rushed to Austin and held his hand. “Austin, are you okay?” She stared at him with tenderness in her eyes. “Wow!” I clapped my hands with a smile filled with mockery. “True love wins! I guess I did you both a favor by stepping aside for Kayla.” However, Austin wasn’t concerned about my statement; he only inquired impatiently. “How long has this been going on? For how long have you been cheating on me with Lucien?” “Is this why you left me?” He roared, and I scoffed in disbelief. Kayla pretentiously gasped like she was shocked, and then she turned to Austin. “I’m not surprised, Austin. Remember how she left the minute your pack faced trouble? Who knows how long they’ve been sneaking around before that?” I shook my head in absolute disgust and anger. Kayla continued. “Thank God I got the Moon Royal Pack involved, or we’d be totally screwed.” She smiled as she lied, a thin, sickening curve that never reached her eyes. “Interesting.” Lucien smirked coldly at Kayla. “You convinced the Moon Royal Pack?” Kayla held my head up high, proud as everyone stared at her with admiration. All I did was stare at her. I wasn’t shocked; I’ve always known the truth to die the minute she opened her mouth. “And you—” Alpha Lucien turned to Austin with a cold glare. “You bought that crap?” Austin’s eyes narrowed in curiosity. “What are you talking about?” His voice expressed how badly he needed an explanation. With a cocky laugh, Lucien continued. “You still don’t know who actually saved your pack, do you?” Frantically, Austin’s eyes went from Lucien to me. He was confused and desperately needed clarification. Kayla, on the other hand, held her breath, her heart pounding like exhaling might force the truth out. She looked uneasily at Austin, holding his hands as her palms became sweaty. “This is only one heir to the Moon Royal Pack, and she’s the Moon Heiress….” Alpha Lucien went on, but I grabbed his arm. He turned his gaze sharply at me, and I reluctantly shook my head, gesturing to him not to spill. “Save your breath, Lucien. They’re not worth our time.” I snapped. “They’re not welcome in my party. Get them the f*** out of here.” I spoke with an expressionless face. The guards quickly rushed to them, and they were shown out of the party. Austin didn’t stop staring at me. His eyes were all over me even as he was being shown out by the security. As soon as they left, I heaved a sigh of relief while shaking my head. Lucien held my hand and spoke gently, every word kind. “Are you okay?” “I’m fine. Well, he hasn’t changed a bit in the past 6 years. Still as full of himself as ever.” I retorted as we walked upstairs. Then, he halted and started in a low voice that was filled with emotions. “You deserve someone who actually sees you, Megan. Maybe it’s time to give someone else a try.” “I appreciate everything you do for me, Lucien. But I’m just not ready for all of it. I have many projects. I have Eleazar…” I continued talking, but he interrupted. “I can wait.” His soft voice cut in. “No matter how long it takes…” He was still talking when my phone started ringing, interrupting the conversation. From the purse, I brought out my phone and gestured to him to hold on while I took the call. “Hey, Nate. What happened?” From the other side of the call, Nate replied with a worried voice. “Megan, something is wrong. I just went into Eleazar’s bedroom, and I can’t find him.” “What? Eleazar is missing?” My heart skipped a beat.MEGAN’S POVAlpha Austin stared at me with shock in his eyes. He had always known that I was a weak omega, and he knew how much I was bullied. Hence, seeing me almost squeezing life out of Kayla with just a movement of my hand got him stunned. I forcefully pulled back my hand, and Kayla staggered to the ground but before she could fall, she landed on the table behind her. So she held the table tight, and managed to raise her head, staring at me in astonishment and disbelief. “You… you dare hurt me?” Kayla stared at me with narrowed eyes, but I didn’t bother to reply her. Nathan scoffed in disgust. “You know what? You’re right.” They exchanged glances at each other. “Right? About what?” Austin questioned anxiously. “Jealous? Actually, I’m pretty sure Eleazar has my blood in him.” Nathan replied with a soft snort, and that triggered Austin even more. “What? Feeling better?” He rolled his eyes. I could see Austin’s fist clench in anger. “So you were pregnant with another man’s baby
MEGAN’S POVKayla burst into a laughter filled with mockery and scorn. She walked closer to me with a smug expression. “See? Pretending to be someone you’re not makes you look even more pathetic.”I ignored her and just stood there as my eyes moved frantically back and forth between her and Austin. Then, Austin started in a calm tone—to my surprise. “Megan, if you needed money, why didn’t you just come to me? There’s no point in making a fool of yourself.”I shook my head with a scoff. What was I thinking? That he was any better? Of course, he has never stopped being an asshole. “What the hell are we waiting for? She should be dragged out by the security already. Get out, you imposter!” Kayla yelled at me and grabbed my arm forcefully. She was probably looking forward to the ‘old’ Megan crying and pleading for mercy; instead, I grabbed her hair aggressively, and she winced in pain. Gasps rent the air, but that was the least I cared about. Kayla struggled to free herself from my gri
MEGAN’S POVI felt my blood boiling with rage as Kayla raised her head, her hand on her reddened cheek, and her eyes widened in astonishment. My fist clenched tight as I breathed heavily, glaring at them with absolute disgust and anger. However, to my surprise, Austin didn’t try to defend Kayla, like he used to. He just stood there, speechless, with his eyes on me. “You… how dare you hit me?” Kayla cried out and turned her gaze at Austin, hoping for him to intervene, but he didn’t say a word. She turned back at me and blurted out rudely. “You lowlife! You should be begging at my feet. I might help you land the janitor work that you’re looking for dressed in that funny-looking apron.”“With a mouth like that, you could really use a janitor.” I snapped at her, and she swallowed hard in embarrassment. Austin stared at me with tender eyes and started. “If you need a job, there are some big names inside. I can vouch for you.”My face flushed with disgust, and Kayla chuckled nervously a
MEGAN’S POVI sat on the couch with my laptop placed on my lap, and my eyes fixed on the screen of the computer. The creaking sound of the door brought my attention to the entrance. Nathan walked in and handed an iPad to me. Reluctantly, I took the iPad from him and stared at the screen with tilted eyes. “Got some interesting news for you. Have you checked the account you used before your divorce?” He inquired, and I shook my head, with my eyes still glued on the iPad. He snorted and continued. “Looks like your ex-husband has been making deposits.” My fist clenched in a fit of rage. “What?”“I guess he must really think you’re broke and living on the streets. He can’t let go, can he?” Nathan laughed dryly as I scrolled through the iPad with a heavy sigh. I scoffed. “Not my problem. Just transfer all of it back to him.”“Ah, come on. Think of it as a tax for all your emotional damages.” Nate countered, and I heaved a sigh. Of course I know how persistent Nate can be, so I only shr
AUSTIN’S POV“Any updates?” I breathlessly inquired, flipping the pages of the file on the table in front of me. The picture of how Lucien held Megan couldn’t get out of my head. It’s only been a few years, and she already got her arms wrapped around him like they’re a couple. The beta started. “Alpha… uh… we’ve looked into Miss Megan. It seems like she and Lucien have a long history together. Rumor has it that the kid she has with her is his, but they never made it official.” Anger surged through my veins. She actually kept his son but aborted ours? The beta continued. “We… we also found out something else.”“What is it?” I inquired anxiously with my eyes narrowed. “She has ties with the Moon Royal Pack. But we don’t have the full picture yet.” My beta snapped, and my eyes grew in a mixture of surprise and shock. Ties with the Moon Royal Pack? It’s only been a few years, and Megan had already kissed up to almost all the influential packs and Alphas. My fist clenched in anger and
MEGAN’S POVI ran down the hallway, panting heavily with my eyes moving frantically from one nook to another. My hands were shaking, and my face was drowned with worry. I kept on dialing the number on my phone, but it wasn’t going through. “Where did you go, Eleazar?” I sobbed with a voice filled with anxiety and fear. Eleazar and I had just come back for the first time since he was born. He isn’t familiar with anyone or any place here. How could he have left the house without notice? I recalled that I had left my IV for this party on the bedside table. Apparently, Eleazar found the card and left the house to attend the party. While I worriedly dialed his number, I almost bumped into Lucien, who was also looking for Eleazar. “Have you seen him?” We chorused in unison, and I shook my head. “Oh, goddess! Where the hell did that kid run off to? I can’t get through to his phone.” I lamented with teary eyes. Lucien gently patted my shoulder, and with a reassuring voice, he said. “Do
