LOGINMEGAN'S POV
I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?” He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless little doll now. Soft, pliable, and mine to play with. Isn't just signing those papers what you want? I can get them done instantly; just cooperate. Let me have my way however I want.” He started touching me, and his hand traced up from my legs to my thighs while I struggled to free myself from his grip. “Shhh, little doll.” He placed his index finger in between my lips. “Be quiet. Let's prepare you for what's coming next.” I felt his hand trace my pussy, and I sobbed. I was no longer going to hide my extraordinary powers. Hence, I opened my clenched fist forcefully, and my nails grew long. Just when I was about to dig my nails into his flesh, the door flung open, and to my greatest surprise, Austin rushed in. Mr. Davison was too busy kissing my legs that he didn't realize when Austin got in and dragged him by the back. Before he could say a word, Austin blew his jaw hard, and he fell on the ground with his lip torn and his tooth bleeding. He didn't wait another second; Austin kept blowing him while he groaned. After a few punches, his face had already become bloody, and he fell heavily on the ground, groaning in excruciating pain. Austin dragged him up and yelled in his face. “You listen up right now. If you ever touch my mate again, they won't be able to find enough of your body to recognize who you are.” “You… If you dare kill me, then no one can force me to sign those papers. You had better let me go.” Mr. Davison managed to speak as his nose bled. “We'll see about that.” Austin smirked, and in that instant, his men flooded the room. Mr. Davison tried to reach for his phone that was lying on the ground, but one of Austin's men stepped hard on his palm, and he growled in pain as they smashed his phone on the wall. “Want to call your men? Don't bother, they're already tied up.” Two of the men held him down as he struggled to free himself. Austin smirked maliciously at him. “Which hand did you touch my wife with?” He asked coldly. Austin signalled them to cut off his hand, and he screamed out in panic. “No, please don't cut my hand. I'll do anything you want me to.” “Sign the papers.” Austin snapped cruelly as the papers were passed in front of him. Shaking with fear, he quickly picked up the pen and signed the papers. “I've signed. I've signed them; please let me go.” They burst into laughter. “Let you go? Not after touching my wife, Mr. Davison. Cut off his hand now.” Austin ordered as I held my breath in fear. So, Austin walked to me and covered my eyes with his palm. All I heard was the scream of Mr. Davison, and he was taken away. Then, Austin took off his palms and held me tight while kneeling beneath the bed. “I'm sorry I was late.” “How did you find me?” I mouthed with my eyes almost closed. He smiled at me. That sort of smile that I've always yearned for. The one I did everything I could to get for the past 3 years. “You're my fated mate, Megan. You might have rejected me, but I can still feel your pain, even if it's a little. That bond will lead me to you whenever you're in trouble.” I felt hot all of a sudden. Does this mean that the incense contains an aphrodisiac too? I couldn't control it. I grabbed Austin's collar, and the next thing I knew, I glued my lips to his. However, he didn't push me away; he started kissing me too, like he had waited for so long to do that. “S… Stop.” I managed to get ahold of myself after a while. “I never stopped loving you, Megan. I only started loving you.” Those were the last words I heard before I passed out. *** When I opened my eyes again, I saw myself in a familiar room. My head ached and my vision was blurry, but there was no fucking way I couldn't recognize the room. “Am I dreaming?” I thought as I cupped my forehead in my palm. I jerked up from the bed when I saw Miss Adeline walk into the room with a saucer and a cup of tea. “What is going on? Why am I here?” “My Luna… I mean, Madam Megan, it's nice seeing you again after so many years.” She smiled with tears in her eyes. My eyes scanned around the room. It indeed is the room I once shared with Austin. Everything was the same; nothing changed, not even the bedspread. “A… Adeline? What am I doing here? Why am I here?” “Madam, the Alpha brought you here while you were unconscious last night. He didn't leave your side. He took care of you all night.” She added. Breathing heavily, I flung the duvet off my body and sprang up immediately. “I need to leave now.” “Ma'am, I brought you coffee. I made it just the way you like it, no extra sugar.” Adeline replied. Our conversation was cut short when the door creaked open and Alpha Austin came in, bearing a plate of hot, piping bone soup. I let out a scoff. “What is this, Austin? Why the hell did you take me here? Look, I'm grateful for your help last night, but you could have contacted Lucien.” “Miss Adeline, you can go.” Austin dismissed her. She left the coffee on the side table and walked out of the room. Pacing around the room, I stopped and turned to Austin, who was scooping out the soup from the big plate to a smaller plate. “What are you doing, Austin? We're divorced, Mr. Austin Sinclair.” “We're not divorced, Megan. And this is your home. It has always been your home…” He was still talking when I banged my fist against the table angrily. “No. This is not my home, Austin. It was never mine to begin with. I tried hard to fix myself in this home, but of course…” I chuckled dryly. “Whatever is not yours will never be yours.” He placed the plate on the table and grabbed my waist possessively. “Megan, don't leave anymore. Look, our room is still the same. I made sure to maintain the same look… Just the same way you decorated it. Here, that's your favorite flower vase. I've always kept it there.” He pointed at the other corner. I shook my head sadly. “There's no need for that, Austin. The times I wanted you to do these…” I pointed at the vase and the soup. “Those times are gone. We already went our separate ways. You signed the divorce papers, and I let you go. You can be with her now. Isn't Kayla your dream girl? There was nothing I could do to earn your love, so I would rather not beg for it anymore.” “No, Megan. You're the one I want. I don't want anyone else.” He snapped. “Stop it!” I cried out, snatching my hand from him and backing away from him. I promised myself never to shed a tear again for him. Even if I was going to shed a tear, I would never let him see me at my worst again. “We're over, Alpha Austin. I don't want anything to do with you anymore.” With that, I wiped my tears and grabbed my bag. I stormed out of the room, straight to the exit. As I walked away, I felt old memories rushing back into my head. The times I begged him to stay for me. The times I pleaded with him to spend time with me. I was his good housewife. Making sure I take care of the pack, the household, and him despite all the humiliations I received. “Not anymore, Alpha Austin. I hope we never meet again.” I thought as I stepped out of the mansion. The Maybach car drove past and halted in front of me. The bodyguard got out of the car, opened the door, and I got into the car…. We drove off. Meanwhile, Kayla, who had been eavesdropping on our conversation, clenched her fist in anger. She could see how dejected Alpha Austin looked, sitting on the floor, lost in thought. “Fucking bitch! She came crawling back just to spread her legs for him again. I won't let you. So that means she's working on that project of the Wolf's Joint Empire?” She nodded her head as she brought out her phone and dialed the number on it. “The Wolf's Joint Empire's launch event for their new project is next, right? I want it ruined.” She spoke in between gritted teeth before hanging the call up. "Let's see what happens after your previous project crumbles, Miss Prescott."MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files
AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around
ALICE'S POV I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added.Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a p
MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply
MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
