Chapter 16: Pain

There was a long pause and a minute of silence between me and my mother. Her yellow eyes were glinting with anger and ferociousness as she stared at me cautiously. 

I approached her slowly to try and hug her but she thought that I was about to inflict harm on her so her instincts were doing the flight or fight response, and she chose the latter since she decided attack me.

She lunge at me with her blaring fangs and she was stopped mid air. 

Fortunately she was held back by the shackles and the long chain attached to her ankles, She just looked at me with her eyes burning in rage and her chest was huffing up and down as she breath in and out deeply, her claws are now slowly appearing.
