12. Chapter Twelve.

As music and other sounds could be heard coming from outside my chamber, I lay in bed hoping to see prince Salvatore once again. A Vamp guard was keeping an eye on my door, and I sighed when I noticed it.

Before the shadow under the door vanished, I heard muffled movement outside the door and saw people shuffle. Even after waiting for some minutes, there was still no evidence of a presence outside my door.

I instantly leapt out of bed and ran to the door, but when I opened it, no one was there. I turned to look around and nobody was there.

I quietly walked out the door and into the area where I spotted the mob. I was hiding behind the curtain when I noticed how nicely adorned and populated with vampires the entire hall was.

Prince Salvatore stood out in the crowd, and I was able to identify him right away. His eyes glanced briefly in my direction, so I scurried to hide.
